Warning: Stay Away from this Merritt Island Pinch-A-Penny!!!I'm writing to share my terrible experience with the Merritt Island Pinch-A-Penny. They've shown zero professionalism and treated me terribly.Out of the blue, they stopped taking care of my pool without even talking to me. This left my pool in a mess, needing expensive cleaning. And why did they stop? Just because I didn't use their ridiculously expensive repair service for a leak ($9,000). Instead, I fixed it myself, saving a ton of money. But instead of respecting my choice, they cut me off and won't even talk to me anymore. It's clear they care more about making money than about keeping their customers happy. So, if you're thinking of hiring Merritt Island Pinch-A-Penny, think again. They're unfair, unprofessional, and definitely not focused on their customers. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment by seeking out a reputable and customer-focused pool service provider.

Pinch a penny generally has your pool needs. This time, they didn't have my filter, but they gave me a price and said they can have in 3 days. Looked on amazon had next day and saved 50%.

This is store is awesome and always helps me so much with my pool and the pumps and motors. When I went to buy a new motor and install myself, Walter actually took the time to make sure I only bought the parts I needed and he put the new ceramic seals on at the store so I didn’t screw it up. Sebastian was also super nice and polite and very helpful. They’re the best!

I've been a customer at this location for almost 3 decades. The staff are always warm and friendly there to lend a hand. You barely have a chance to park a vehicle if you're stopping for chlorine before somebody is there collect the empty jugs and return with full ones for you.Pools are full-time job and they help make that job just a little bit easier.

Our pool has a corner seat and one on the side of the pool. This extra cover material caused the solar cover to roll up unevenly. Walt came up with a way to avoid this..it now rolls up beautifully. Thank you Walt, we love your store , your employees and thank you for your patience.

Ridiculous deposit policy on the liquid chlorine jugs. Apparently, if you have the jug for more than 30 days, you only get back half of the deposit? Does the jug deteriorate after 30 days? I'm pretty sure plastic lasts for hundreds of years or more, just look at our oceans. Why call it a deposit if only half of it is returned? It's actually a fee, not a deposit.

Unfair refund policy on their plastic chlorine containers.

Have used Pinch-a-Penny for many years. Always my go-to pool service and supply. Recently my standard pool pump motor failed. Owner, Pat Ahern and his team recommended a new variable speed replacement, which was much higher in acquisition cost but designed to consume so much less electricity that it will pay for itself in 2-3 years. Very responsive and professional service ... Thanks Pinch a Penny!

I was gone for 4 days and when I returned my pool was green! ? It hasn’t done that in 10 years. I tried liquid chlorine, didn’t help, then I bought Green to Clean. OMG! Big Mistake. I spoke with Sarah who was very knowledgeable. I didn’t have a valve to waste line, just a backwash out of the filter. Flocculent all over the bottom. Long story short they came, Sebastian, and Josh cleaned everything, then Guy added a waste line bypassing the filter in about 10 minutes! What a lifesaver! They have been back to check on it numerous days and the water is clear blue! Love these guys. They will be getting my business for sure!!!!!

The only reason it's one star is you can't give -1 Do your selves a favor and sign up with any other pool service company on the island. For a very long time they were very kind and accommodating as I struggled thru divorce and 2 car accidents but I always paid and eventually stopped the service to do it myself due to finances. I hired them for a spot cleaning months later and I had to call three times to have them actually show up after asking how much it would be those three times. Well they showed up and I'm on my roof while they did a one time clean and were there for 20 minutes. Mind you I'd asked for an estimate and they'd cleaned my pool for over three years so they knew the pool. Well the two girls who serviced the pool failed to turn my pump back on and my pool went green and also the pump backed up and I couldn't get it back on. So no estimate, green pool, and broken or not working properly pump. This is a company who'd taken pictures every single time they'd serviced my pool in the past. When I figured out my pump wasn't on and tried to fire it up a few days later and called them the women both whom helped me in the past obviously took their employees side saying blah blah blah they said they turned it on l, so i knew that was futile. Then they hit me with the bill a week later and my head blew up it was 5 times the typical weekly rate. No estimate ahead of time, failure to turn my pump back on after serving and never calling me to get an appt on the books. A hassle after hassle after hassle. But this is the most fun part. Calling these two women who got nasty and condescending , which I was having none of, got me BANNED from the store. These two jerks couldn't deal with the fact I kept rebutting every excuse back at me with facts at them. They told fib after fin to CYA and feed me one lie after another one being the girl we're at my house for an hour. Nope! I was timing it since I was on the roof blowing the leaves off So I have their two chlorine containers and they won't let me go back to get my money back for them because I'm BANNED. I didn't cuss or scream, I did beg for reason and tear up but these two certainly don't have the customers best interest at heart. STAY AWAY. Give your money to their competitor on the island who are kind, happy and honest. I'm not surprised I've seen others reviews and it seems consistent that from the owner down their business model is screw the customer as much as you can. I've reported them to the BBB and the Attorney General. They're worse then dealing with Comcast and overseas customers service.

Failed to repair pool vacuum, while in store. Sent their best tech out to our home who failed to communicate (didn't tell me anything and left, no call, no voicemail, no text, no note). I called his manager who kept interrupting me telling me another story, never apologizing, never once taking accountability, so obviously truthfulness is not what they believe in nor is customer service. She said she was just reading the ticket he provided which stated it was not repairable, He didn't mention on the ticket he didn't communicate any of this to us before leaving premises, not to mention he screwed up the pool timer making it run for 24 hours which could have burned up the pump if we didn't catch it before leaving on vacation. It makes me believe he had prejudice towards us because when we took it to Cocoa Pinch a Penny, they fixed it in front of me in 30 minutes! And if you don't know how to repair something, don't state that you do. I had to go to MI Pinch a Penny 4 times total for this unresolved issue. The manager stated she would apply the most recent repair costs to a new pool vacuum, none of which are under $500! The repair at Cocoa cost $150. Big failure on both the tech's part and the manager's. They lost a customer, and I recommend people go to Cocoa and save yourself money in the long run.
