I was cheated and mislead by sales/management at Merritt Island's T-mobile. I was sold on the age 55+ 2 line plan for $90/mo and was told watches were free with the plan. Turns out they were free with an additional plan that cost $60/mo. The manager took my phone, e-signed on my behalf then deleted the contract and disclosures from my email. CROOKES.

Came into the t mobile store with my husband who was looking to purchase a pro max 15. When we walked in no one greeted us AT ALL. One gentlemen on the left was helping a customer . The other gentleman on the right was not helping anyone and we proceeded to walk in and look at phones and STILL didn’t say anything. The few more minutes went by and then he speaks. My husband informed him he was looking to purchase a phone and he stands there and say “oh I have to look”.And just stands there. We look at him awkwardly and then he walks back there. I told my husband to not even buy anything because I wasn’t feeling the customer service. Then he start to ask “ I can order the phone or color you want “ my husband says no I’m good and then he keeps say “oh it’ll charge you if you order off line”. Where was the eagerness when we walked in? Lacks etiquette and professionalism to say the least! When you work on “ service” you provide a service !

Terrible service! The manager outright lied to us. Visited store to see about lowering our monthly cost. Manager pushed a plan that also included FREE tablet. Didn’t really need a tablet but he pushed how it was free. Then he mentioned the activation fee. Ok, small price to pay for a tablet. The next bill came and found out there was a monthly cost for the tablet. Our bill was lowered by a whopping 70 cents! No savings really. When we went back to the store and spoke with the manager his comment was “ well you’re saving 70 cents a month and you have a tablet! Didn’t need the tablet and 70 cents is nothing. The manager lied to us repeatedly saying the tablet was FREE. Then we find out even if we cancel the tablet we’re still charged for them. The customer service in the Merritt Island store is horrendous, being led by a manager that knowingly lied to us. Beware of the Merritt Island TMobile store!!

Beware of this store. We went in to lower our monthly bill being senior citizens and in doing so was offerred a tablet for FREE. I told them we were not interested in a tablet since we already had one. He consistently harrassed us until I said Ok. But in doing so repeated emphasized that it was FREE with no additional charges. The answer was always free and no additional charges. As we were finishing up we then learn there is a $35 activation fee. I was ready to give the tablets back but figured 2 tablets for $35 was a good deal so ok. I get our bill after we got the tablets and the bill is now $.70 less than before. Our bill was to go from $90 to $75 and now it's basicly the same. When we went back to the store they did not try to help but just continued to lie to use about it being free but how it was 5G which we didn't care about.

Update: Original post was11-02-23, it is now 11-6-23. As I feared, my mom or her disabled husband accepted both phones by accident. I had to call T-Mobile and get a return shipping label. I told the rep what had happened and I filed an official complaint through her with the corporate office, including transaction and sales rep numbers. They said they would contact me soon. Just to clarify, this location (Merritt Island) is a privately owned store, not corporate.Extremely upset. I was lied to and manipulated! Its a long story.I had added a line to my account for mom, through the website and had the phone shipped to her in a different state. I had gone into the store to see about a warranty exchange and to try and port over my moms old phone number. I was told to call and cancel the phone line and the phone order because they would not be including a sim card with the phone. My mom would have to go to a T-Mobile store in her town and get a sim card. That is not an option for her. He tells me that he will add the line in store and activate the sim card and then I can go mail it off to her at my own expense. That is lie #1. T-Mobile does include an activated sim card when ordering a phone and starting new service.I called to cancel the phone and the T-Mobile rep said it was too late, that the phone was being sent out. But she would cancel the phone line and my mom would just have to refuse the package when it arrives. So now there are two phones headed her way and hopefully she or her disabled husband will refuse the right one. Then he said since I was doing it in store that I get a third line for free. I could see the advantages of having a unused line. That was lie #2. I had to pay a $35 connection fee, even though the third line had no phone on it. The line i added for my mom was free and only $16 in taxes for the free phone.I also needed to do a warranty exchange on my phone. He told me that I would have to do the warranty exchange myself because they don't do it in store, and to make sure to tell them that the replacement has to be sent to my home, it can not be sent to their store. If it was sent to their store, he said he would not be able to give it to me. That was lie #3. When I called I was told that I had to go through the store because they would have to inspect it for physical damage. So I went to a different location and did my warranty exchange. The rep from T-Mobile called me back to see how things went and that is how I found out that literally everything he said was like.Something that should have been super simple and quick has now turned into a stressful event that is gonna last days until my mom hopefully refuses the correct package. I am out $35 for a "free" line, and another $40 for the price of packing and shipping my moms phone to her. I have no idea why this guy thought it necessary to lie like this. From now on I will just drive to the Clearlake Road store.
