Barry's Miami Beach is an excellent training facility that teaches running and weight lifting. I learned how to run faster, pace myself and blend running into my overall workout regiment. Also Barry's taught me about strength at an achievable level for an amateur. Historically I lifted 2 to 3 pound weights in ballet barre classes. Barry's has helped me develop to 10-15 pound weights for better muscle strength. The only "cons" of Barry's are the price and the singular focus on run/lift. My greatest weight loss and muscle tone has been at full service gyms like equinox. I work out longer at equinox and ultimately burn more calories blending running, rowing and elliptical with barre and yoga. Equinox as a full service gym is half the price for a monthly membership. Moreover, Equinox runs promotions such as free membership through the end of 2023 for a 12 month membership in 2024, and the monthly membership is $210 corporate. Notably Barry's corporate locations offer discounted membership and class packs for my employer but Barry's Miami Beach doesn't accept them. I ended up with Barry's corporate and Barry's Miami class packs. Barry's serves an important purpose. When I want to push my running legs and lift heavy, Barry's Miami Beach is the place. Barry's has good treadmills with thicker cushion that is worth the extra money. My Miami Beach condo has treadmills included but zero cushion. Candidly I know more injured runners than active runners. The cushiony treadmill and higher end running shoes like Hoka are valuable investments for a runner. (I have never been injured running but pay for quality equipment, coaches and shoes.) i love the enthusiasm and encouragement of Sammi, Michael, Derek and Rachel especially. The balance of the challenging Barry's workouts is worth it.

I did my first class today. It was an upper body focused class. It was challenging and fun. Really they get you to challenge yourself.... The instructor Derek was motivated and he added excitement to the experience. Everyone was friendly. Great studio.

Was disappointed by how the front desk was managed. Visited from out of town, from a studio where checking in is not a heavily enforced thing. I got to this studio early, put my stuff in a locker, and then went up to the desk to let them know I was there before I went into the red room. I lingered back because the desk is an actual mob scene, and I figured it wouldn't matter since I already have a reservation that I made the same morning. The front desk person incredibly condescendingly announced to everyone there -- before the class start time -- that we were all "late" so we need to "wait, one at a time." Again, I hung back because I thought I had a reserved spot, and the class hadn't yet started, and the people around me need something more than I do. Well, it turned out he gave my spot away. He insisted that you need to check in more than 5 minutes in advance of the class start time - maybe that's the policy, but the way it was enforced felt extreme and unkind. He returned my credit, but the studio did not refund my credit - so now I just have a reminder of this incident lingering on my account. If you want to feel like more than a source of revenue, I'd recommend going somewhere else.

Women’s locker room is a mess. Instructor was making body dysmorphic/fat shaming comments in class.

Well I have had over 900 classes so far. I have tried almost everything as well but always end up here. I recommend all Barry’s yes Miami Beach is exceptional but so are all the others in LA Miami and Atlanta

They really need to pump in more AC into classes, it’s so hot in there! Also, other Barry’s have more padded floors, the floor here is really hard. Take care of knees and wrists!

Barry's Miami Beach is a high intensity workout that builds the member's strength and cardio endurance. Their trainers have helped me shave several minutes off my average mph speed and inspired me to increasingly challenging weights. For the naysayers who complain about a specific instructor, please understand how hard teaching a large class is. When the class is full, the instructor may choose fewer, shorter rounds because of the time required for 50 people picking up weights and moving to the treadmill. In yoga we set an intention for each practice. Similarly I set a goal for each class like 3 miles or more and pace myself based on the frequency and duration of the intervals. For the greatest challenge, follow the intermediate or advanced recommendations of the instructor in any class. The weekday afternoon classes are less crowded and more rigorous, intense with individualized attention.

Barry's is good. But their outdoor bootcamp was the best. Very disappointed that they closed Wynwood and South Beach. That's what made Barry's so unique. Not many places in the country can offer outdoor bootcamp like Barry's.

One of the harder HIIT classes I've taken. Half the class is cardio (treadmill) while the other is strength training with free weights and bands. The cardio side kicks my butt to the point where I dread doing it (but thats how you know its great for you ?). They change the focus area daily so you have the option of attending a class that is more arms focused, or lower body, or chest and back- which I appreciate!

Went to class today with Derek this was our first time in Miami. However I have done Barry's classes in over five US cities and in Europe and Australia as well. Unfortunately this was probably the worst class I've ever been to. The music was OK the studio is beautiful however the instructor was lackluster. He was not very clear in his instructions and he never once demonstrated the movements and just kept relying on the seasoned class members who often were difficult to visualize in the class. I don't see myself coming back to him as an instructor and I'd rather spend my money on the many other fitness studios available in Miami thank you but no thank you.
