This was my second time staying at freehand. It is a great hostel! The service was incredible. All of the staff are phenomenal, but I wanna shout out Alvin in particular. He helped me out a lot. I highly recommend staying here.

No wifi. “Connected - No Internet” the whole time. “DNS server not connecting”.
Great location, good prices (even after 40% tourist taxes), but lacking important wifi and water fountains.

I had a very disappointing experience at Freehand Miami. I arrived on Friday, December 12, around 6:00 PM after more than 12 hours of travel. Finding parking was extremely stressful—there were no available spots on the street or nearby paid lots, and I had to temporarily stop my rental car with emergency flashers on to avoid a ticket or towing.
When I entered the hotel, there was a loud party with music so intense that getting any rest was impossible. To make matters worse, there was no one at the front desk for 10–15 minutes. When a staff member finally arrived, I asked about overnight parking and was told only street parking was available. I was directed to a nearby public parking lot, but it only allowed parking for 1–3 hours at a time, with free parking only between 3:00 AM and 9:00 AM—completely impractical if you’re sleeping and exhausted.
When I explained my concerns, I was simply told, “it is what it is.” At that point, I had no choice but to leave. Around 7:00 PM, tired, hungry, and exhausted, I spent over an hour calling other hotels to find one with proper parking and finally booked one about 25 minutes away, arriving close to 10:00 PM without having dinner.
The next morning, I returned and spoke with the front desk, who told me the manager, Alexandra Guzman, handles refunds. I requested a refund but never received it. I emailed both the manager and Hotels.com customer service for days with no response from the hotel. In the end, Hotels.com refunded me from their own funds—not Freehand Miami.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend staying here if you value rest, basic customer service, or transparent parking options.
