“Rainbow Shops was founded in 1935 in New York City by Irving Arthur Swarzman. Rainbow was chosen as the store name to reflect the colorful and varied range of affordable fashion options available in the store. Swarzman and his brothers built the business up to eighty two stores before selling them in the 1980's. Rainbow is now owned by the Chehebar family along with sister brands 5-7-9 and Marianne for a total of over 1,300 stores in United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
This store just opened next to Daiso in Gardens Promenade in Miami Gardens. The store carries women's, junior's and children's clothing along with shoes, sunglasses, accessories, perfume, and other miscellaneous items. The style trends younger or maybe just young at heart with bright colors and vibrant prints. Prices are inexpensive with shoes under $10 and some of the clothing priced at three and five dollars. While not necessarily my taste I applaud them for being size inclusive with sizes going up to 24. It was definitely fun to see some of the more bold styles.”
