My bedroom set was in storage for 3 months before it was shipped from the Bronx, NY to Pinellas Park, Fl. When it arrived my platform bed was broken as was 2 of the 6 dresser drawers. There were water bubbles on my dresser and night tables. The bedroom set was a gift from my aunt and all that I was offered was $185.00. I will NEVER recommend this company for moving or storage.

Never use this company. They broke things. Lost things. Packed things in the craziest way I've ever seen in my life.

I used Shleppers multiple times in NYC and had them move me from NYC to Florida. Now that I moved from one home to another in Florida, I called them up again and this time had a HORRIFIC experience. I paid for them to pack up and move my property. They stole some of my property and broke a lot of my furniture and lamps. For example, I had a sentimental vase from my dead grandparents and without thinking I let them move it. One of the movers either broke it or stole it thinking it was valuable instead of sentimental, since I made a big deal of how much I treasured it. Broke several lamps, tv stand, console table, desk, dresser, couch and small things. There is a box of pictures that are missing, including pictures of my husband and his grandmothers and my favorite picture of us when we were dating. Pictures and albums are common to move and cannot be replaced. Called everyday and left multiple messages for 2 months to talk to someone about my horrible experience and no one has returned my calls. The movers cursed, fought and made a huge mess when moving and I had to remind them to be professional. There were 3 guys who were professional and 3 that weren't. I have no idea what to do now. You will either spend the money on movers with another company or replacing your broken and stolen things with this company. Also, forget about getting any money from them even if you have insurance. They simply will not pick up your calls.

A daunting project made easier by Schleppers Moving. They were professional, all the way with helpful hints and suggestions on things to do before the move. The packers were friendly and did a great job packing us up. Delivery was as scheduled and the packages were put in the rooms we asked. Friendly crew. Would definitely use them again!

I would like to preface this review by saying that I normally do not provide any feedback publicly, however, in this case I feel compelled to provide some feedback which may benefit others. My husband and I have moved no less than ten times both domestically and internationally over the past twenty years. This is the first time we have had multiple issues with a moving company. We chose Shleppers for our move from Manhattan to San Francisco in June 2022. Below are the issues we experienced with Shleppers: 1. Poor quality packing and handling - * At least four pieces of our furniture were not properly wrapped/protected with blankets, especially around the corners/edges and consequently severely damaged (I have attached some photos). * We had many paintings, which were not properly packed, which resulted in the frames being scraped and dented. * We had to remind the packers more than once to be careful with certain pieces which are fragile and irreplaceable. In one example - they did not bring enough lamp boxes but wanted us to trust them to take the items loose to the warehouse "where they would be packed properly." We had to insist that they somehow find a way to pack these items before loading into the truck. * We noticed that one large piece furniture when loaded into the truck did not have the corners/edges properly protected. They promised to rewrap it properly in the warehouse (which based on the damage visible on delivery never happened). 2. Lack of general care and consideration - * They did not provide any floor protection. * During the packing, despite being warned about the weight and difficulty of moving a specific heavy console base, the team leader Garcia managed to scratch our hardwood floor while trying to move it on his own and did not seem to care about what he had done. * On completing the packing out, they left behind all the empty tape rolls and their rubbish. * The same team leader splashed a pink colored drink on our window ledge and wall and left the messy stains behind without saying anything. I saw it with my own eyes. 3. Cost * Following their initial survey, they (Derek, our sales consultant) provided us with a binding lump sum price for the move. Unfortunately, on the day of the move, the team leader told me that the estimator had forgot to include six wardrobe boxes for my clothes, plus some "China boxes." These extra wardrobe and China boxes cost us an extra $2,100 which they demanded payment on the spot in full - this was approx. 20% above the original lump sum agreed price. * Buyer beware - they deliberately understated the cost and then on the day, after finishing the packing, they surprised us with this additional cost. At this time, we had no other options but to pay. 4. Final balance and delivery - * The packing and loading occurred on June 23, and their estimated delivery was between July 1 to July 16 with the final balance due on the FIRST day of the delivery window (which would have been July 1). * On June 28, we were told that our shipment would be delayed leaving NYC and not arrive in SF until after July 16. Since I was planning to be away for the summer and would not be able to take the delivery after July 18, I insisted that Shleppers deliver my shipment before July 18. In the meantime, they insisted I would still have to pay the remaining balance on July 1 - before my shipment was even re-loaded on the truck and made its way to California. Only after insisting that given the revised delivery window and the fact that our shipment would not even be re-loaded until July 4 or July 5 did they relent and delay the final charge until July 4th. 5. Final comments - * Many firms want 50% up front on packing with the balance due on delivery - Shleppers is not such a firm. * If using Shleppers be sure to take out third party insurance to cover any damage. * Our recommendation would be to consider other providers and avoid all the issues/challenges which we suffered.

The team that picked up my stuff was incredible. They showed up right on time and were so efficient. They did an extremely thorough job wrapping up my furniture and making sure everything was sufficiently padded for the long journey from NY to FL. Shleppers even sent someone from their corporate office to check in and ensure everything was running smoothly. Such a professional team -- I look forward to the arrival of my belongings!

As expected, of the 30 bins, maybe 4 were damaged but the contents were intact and my floor lamp was missing a piece. However, overall, the movers were courteous, respectful, helpful and quick. The price was, what I thought, great! I would definitely recommend Shleppers Moving & Storage for long distance moves. Thank you!

We moved from New York to Florida, and the whole process was extremely pleasant and easy with Shleppers. The gentlemen who came to our New York Apartment where extremely fast, organized and polite, and the two employees who dropped off our belongings in Florida were great as well. I definitely recommend this moving company if you are looking to move!Service: Out-of-state move

Let’s just say Shleppers are a shlep. You get what you pay for and someone else’s box too! All of my furniture that they insisted on packing had damage and not enough for it to be worth it to pay the deductible on the insurance. They have yet to contact me on what I should do with another customer’s box. I should’ve paid the extra $1k for a better company. A real shlep.

I recently moved from NYC to Miami and used Shleppers based on the price and reviews I saw online. Im very pleased on how efficient and smooth was my move from the moment I pay my deposit online, to an on-time pickup, to a smooth delivery. Would recommend to anyone and use again if needed.

After almost $3000 in moving expenses for a cross-country move, I am extremely disappointed in Shleppers. They delivered my furniture broken, unusable and repair costs that I can’t afford after spending every last dime on my move. Because I didn’t purchase any insurance (which as never even offered at signing I might add) their claims department is offering me $85 for the damage. Laughable. Also, there wasn’t so much as an apology from the mover or the company. Cool. I’ve worked in customer service for years, and an apology along with even the illusion that you care or are trying to find a solution go a long way. Upon having my items picked up from the destination in LA, Shleppers informed me that it was going to be an additional $600-800 more than the original quote because I had more items than I originally listed. I expected it to be a little more expensive (I had more boxes than I calculated, but no major additional furniture). What I didn’t expect is for my quote to go up about 50%. Of course, once you’re in that position and the movers are there, what else can you do but pay up, right? I waited around a month from the time the movers picked up my items until the time they were delivered. This was much longer than expected (I was living in an unfurnished apartment on an air mattress during this time) but I gave them the benefit of the doubt because this happened during the beginning of the lock down so things were moving slowly. Understandable. I might add that communication during this time with their company was pretty awful. It was feeling like a part-time job to follow up and get updates. I also overlooked this because of the pandemic. Once the items did finally arrive, because my building has limits on how large the moving trucks can be that enter our loading dock, I had to pay for an additional shuttle to move the items in (not cheap - read the fine print). What was originally quoted as a $1400 move was now close to $2800 in the final tally. This sucked, but the worst was yet to come. My vintage, Herman Miller reclining chair was delivered broken and unusable. It’s a family heirloom. It’s been used and sat in for decades without so much as a tear or significant scratch. I’ve been quoted anywhere from $500-$1000 for repairs. In addition to this, there were other scratches on furniture and they completely damaged and warped my bamboo room divider which had been in perfect condition (clearly a result of careless packing). I understand things happen in a move, stuff gets bumped/glass breaks/things get scratched, but I never anticipatd the extent of the damage on a chair worth more than double what the move cost. For three months now my chair has been sitting in a heap in the corner because I can’t afford to fix it. This was my only piece of living room furniture. Awesome. One would think that paying thousands of dollars to professional movers to deliver your items would at least result in them arriving intact. This was not the case. You’ve been warned.

Seriously no other moving company compares to the service and professionalism from owner to management to movers. They make something most people dread into such an easy and pleasant experience. Detailed. Incredibly careful. Attentive. Organized. Can't praise them enough. Have used them for years and just used them again for our last move and they never disappoint. They truly impress. Strongly recommend to anyone who needs a move. Speak with Sharon and he will always make it happen for you. Thank you Shleppers!
