I mainly come here for the games. Some games are way too overpriced like $45 but then you see the exact same one in same condition for $6.00 next to it. Overall, a great place to buy from. Just watch out for counterfeit stuff.

Stopped by “just to look around,” and three plot twists later, I’m walking out with a stack of fantasy novels, a vinyl record I didn’t know I needed, and a graphic novel I’m definitely going to pretend is for a friend.
This place is a dream for book lovers, gamers, collectors, and anyone who appreciates a good old-fashioned treasure hunt. Whether you're into Tolkien, time travel, or titles you’ve never heard of but suddenly can’t live without, you’ll find something here.
The store is organized, the vibes are great, and the staff are friendly without being pushy. One even helped me find a book I vaguely described as “kinda like Lord of the Rings but with fewer hobbits and more emotional damage,” and they knew exactly what I meant.
Even without trading anything in, I found great stuff at fair prices. No sticker shock, just the pleasant kind of buyer’s guilt where you pretend you didn’t buy five books when you said you’d only get one.
If you're in Destin and need a break from the beach or just want to disappear into a world of books, games, and nerdy greatness, this is the place. Just be warned — time moves differently in here. It’s like Narnia with a better vinyl selection.

Really cool place. Well organized. Only downside was new books mixed in with used. Just watch for the price stickers.

Clean, welcoming. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Great selection of new releases. Tons of Manga genre. Very nice kids' area. Convenient location.

BAIT AND SWITCH. On our recent vacation to Destin, Florida, my husband and I hauled two bags of DVDs and books to sell or trade at the 2nd and Charles. It was our first time, and we were told that we'd have the choice to accept or decline their offer. Great!! When they presented the offer, I thought it was VERY low, but they said they couldn’t accept all the items. Fair enough! We could take the remaining books and movies home to donate or trade. We shopped, and I checked out using part of our miniscule store credit. I then asked for the unaccepted books and DVDs, and was shocked to be told that they had “taken everything.” They handed me my empty bags. The associate said she had gotten confused. It was lunchtime, my husband was more than ready to leave, and the associate didn’t offer any kind of other option, so we left. If I had had the time I would have asked them to cancel the entire transaction. I’m sick about the pennies we received for our mint-condition books and movies. Now I'm trying to get back into “happy vacation” mode and forget about it. Entirely unethical. Seriously disappointed.

This 2nd and Charles is fantastic. Always well stocked with new and used books of all genres. During my most recent visit, I found a few out of print books that I have been looking for for a long time. The employees are always happy and helpful.

Great store! New, used, and old books as well as toys, apparel, and games. Highly recommend checking out 2nd and Charles anytime you pass by one. They're all always clean and organized and the staff are friendly and helpful.
