I LOVED this place because I found the "secret" - not really but it sounds cool - a room that has BOX LOADS OF COMICS - so many copies of new & old versions that are not easy to find. I got lost for hours! BUUUUUTTT; side thought there is a confusing way the books in the main area are set up. Some are obvious as they are by name while it switches to another style I couldn't figure out. I'm certain it's a simple explanation & I'll learn it one day. The store still has great books @ good priced. Especially the cool spaces to sit, relax & read a bit while waiting for your other party member to take their time to get their stuff together! Great place!

I love this little bookstore not only because of the books but because of the people! Everyone is so kind and helpful. Their selection ranges from more up and coming to classics. Their prices are great even with some of the more popular books too. Great place to visit if you are a booklover and if you are in downtown Mt. Dora.

I am disgusted by the way my children were treated in this store. While I’m as browsing the shelves, my sister was watching my girls (2 and 4 years old) at the front of the store. I heard the worker curse loudly, while I’m standing one shelf away from her, and run to the front to tell my girls to stop running (mind you, my sister is monitoring them and they weren’t running, they stepped down the stair which apparently the sound was a trigger for this worker). I’m on high alert now with this woman who has cursed at my children in front of me (unbeknownst to her), she walks back over toward me, hears the sound of my children’s feet hitting the ground (aka stepping down the stair) and again curse and literally runs to the front of the store. This time, she gets close to my children’s’ faces and yells ‘NO RUNNING’ again. This woman has some deep-seated issues if she feels that infuriated about children that she feels as though it’s morally okay to curse and then get inches away from a 2 year olds face and berate her. I wouldn’t recommend this store to my worse enemy. I will, however, be back next time I’m in town to let my girls do a lap around this store (and this time I’ll join them).Seek professional help,Kimberly Elkins

I love this local bookstore! They carry all the books I love at a very good price and I've ordered books as well. You can't beat their prices and the owner is super nice! They also have a book club monthly!

This store openly advertises political nonsense on their store window in relation to the banned books in FL schools containing racist and pornographic material. They openly display debunked and racist books such as “1619” in their store window. It’s a disgrace to the community for this store to take such an active step to glorify the disgusting literature our youth were being exposed to, especially to use it for marketing. This store has made their political views crystal clear, and if you stand against this type of behavior I’d strongly suggest you find somewhere else to shop. My family will never do business with this store again.

BEWARE of who you do business with. The owner of this bookstore is the Mayor of Mount Dora, Crissy Stile. After several controversies involving her office which I have outlined below, this Mayor instructed the City Council, the Mount Dora Police Department and the Mount Dora Public Library WT Bland location to disallow commenting on all social media channels for the City. Controversies include covering up for Cathy Lundy, a local librarian who called the police and outright lied about a local Veteran "panhandling" when he was doing nothing more than holding a sign on public property to raise awareness for homeless vets. This gentleman was not only harassed, but also detained for exercising his first amendment rights. Crissy and her City Council covered it up. City Council headed by Crissy Stile, was incompetent at best, when a local elderly couple was viciously killed in their own home and refused to provide any level of transparency to residents reeling from the murder of their neighbors, all while the murderer was still on the loose. City Council (at the behest of Crissy Stile) imposed a new $30.00 late fee on utility services in the Summer of 2022 when residents were already struggling to afford food, gas, and medications due to skyrocketing inflation. Her office, along with this City Council, then tried to sneak through a commercial development project that they knew the citizens of our City were against. Rather than apologizing to her constituents she then blamed the residents for not showing up to the City Council meetings. You can watch this on the recordings of the City Council meeting.Up until the end of January when the city closed commenting, the City's social media channels were loaded with comments from her constituents that were unhappy with her choices, this City Councils poor leadership, and lack of transparency; they were making their voices heard. In an email dated, March 22nd I asked City Council why they have chosen to censor public commenting and received an email back from Crissy that stated they did that to prevent all the profanity on the city pages and "save the taxpayers money" by not hiring additional personnel to monitor their channels. I informed her, the City Manager, and the rest of the council that all social media provides free profanity filters on their platform. These are "set it and forget it" filters that require no full-time personnel to manage. Still, here we are 6 weeks later, and they are still censoring public discourse. Rather than accepting public critique, Crissy has decided to censor her constituents under the guise of "being fiscally conservative and financially responsible with tax payer dollars." This is an outright lie!By choosing to support her business, you are supporting Government censorship. Choose wisely.A simple Google search will confirm what I have written here regarding free profanity filters on social media channels.

Look at all the new and used books and sit on the giant beanbags and the lump zones in the front, it's huge in there and they have a nice backgammon all set up for you

There’s no store parking. When I finally parked and went inside the bookshelves and books looked like a Goodwill. They’re all extremely used and still expensive. Go to the Eustis goodwill and you’ll be happier. Cute window display though.
