I went to the store with my daughter to buy linen clothes. It was recommended to me by a friend but when I walked in the store to see the merchandise 2 ladies where following us in the store, it was a very uncomfortable moment. It happened after I was speaking in Spanish with my daughter. That’s no the way to treat to the customers because you never know who is the person that will spend the money in your store. Awful treat to the customer. Never welcomed to us or ofer any help there. I live in the area and I used to support the people and the business in my community but not this kind of people.

Black Swan Mercantile is this charming French boutique right in downtown Mount Dora. I love stopping in whenever I'm in the area. They've got some really nice and unique stuff, all very good quality! Definitely worth checking out!

I purchased a martini mixer and didn’t use, because I found a glass one for 19.99 at Target. When returning less than 30 days from purchase, I was denied return. Apparently the owner is not flexible and 14 days is 14 days. I am a local and will never frequent this store again. Overpriced for sure and won’t even help the locals.

I bought a lovely handcrafted necklace by a Florida designer here today. Jennifer was so helpful and lovely as were the other saleswomen. I was treated rudely by another shop up the street but that just led me to where I was supposed to be, here at Black Swan. Keep up the good work!

Super cute shop! Meant to back the day we were in Mount Dora and totally ran out of time! Met the manager who was super sweet. These are the things I look for because I’m a gift shop owner, myself. Keep up the good work; the place is adorable!!! I’ll be back!!!

I was there in December 4 I was just walking and I wanna Look around the store and buy a gift if I see some thing I like it the moment I walk into the store the owner salt and pepper hair saw me and when I walk to the back when when I turn around I saw the owners sending employee to walk with and check on me entire the store I am the only Black person there I was very sad my family supposed to go there for holiday after this happened they’re not gonna shop there and I’m adopted and my family is white maybe if there with me The situation be different I know someone ex-employee told me when somebody’s not dress good she does that to but that is not right they shouldn’t call it black swan if they are not well coming black ppl

We stopped by to see beautifully furnished store and discovered the living image of Frida Kahlo working there. The entire staff was helpful and pleasant.

Love this shop. Merchandised really well, nice selection of products for both men and women. Good selection of upscale faux flowers. Very nice owners. My favorite thing is they dont require masks to be worn inside. Some paranoid people are put off by that and thats their prerogative. But its also ours. You have to remember that a lot of people have their vaccination and are choosing not to wear masks now. Thank you Black Swan Mercantile.

I really loved shopping here until I saw this, it's one thing that you don't care about your customers but to have absolutely no concern about your employees is unconscionable. The sales lady a blond white woman saw me take this picture and came out to tell me they are not required to wear masks and I simply told her no masks no shopping for me to which she just rolled her eyes. Out of all the shops in the area this was the only one with the attitude.

This store looked interesting to me so my husband and I walked in to explore. We noticed immediately that neither of the two employees were wearing face masks. I was surprised since this was not the case in every other downtown Mt. Dora store we visited while shopping before Christmas this year. My husband mentioned the fact that they weren't wearing masks to one of the employees and she relied, "Well, it's my choice." This reply may not offend some people, but as parents of first responders that work every day to save / help others confronting the virus and the after-effects, I find this careless attitude beyond selfish. We left immediately and would not return.
