Terrible place to stay.... Full of bugs, alligators eating little dogs... The landlord is a miserable woman always yelling and harassing the tenants making their stay uncomfortable as can be... Our entire stay the laundry was out of service and no maintenance on the property.... She ended up filing eviction on everyone even after she was payed and for no reason. She has cameras above your door and spies on you constantly. Doesn't let you enjoy your stay at all. The walls are paper thin everyone can hear absolutely everything.... You can hear people breathe at night... The landlord has a predatory personality.

Stayed in 2 different rooms over 3 months while in town on a travel contract. In the property owners description, she mentioned that there would be bugs and alligators etc, so in that regard I was not surprised, though I have never seen roaches that big before. Supposedly from the ad on AirBnb, there was internet WiFi, air conditioning, pet friendly and a kitchenette which checked the main boxes. Though we had discussed my dogs the day before I was to arrive she told me not to bring them. So we reviewed the documented conversation and she said we would work something out. I arrived and was sent to an add on to a trailer which smelled of urine and mildew . This was fine, I cleaned everything as I often do on arrival to a new place. The kitchenette was in the bathroom, the sink was the bathroom sink. If I ran the coffee maker and microwave at the same time it invariably would blow a fuse. Then, there was the terrible internet connection reminiscent of the early 2000’s. Her response was that she knows nothing about these things and I was made to wait for days to get a connection which continued to be shoddy at best. Then the rains came and I had several leaks as a result, one over my bed. I reached out to her and I was then put into another room at 200$ more per month in a place called Holland House that touts “when you are here, you are family”. It was a better kitchenette it had its own sink, a large fridge and a hot plate with 1 functioning burner at least. Cleanliness was an improvement but still subpar. Holland House has many rooms for rent and a terrible parking situation. The deck on the water is usually littered with duck poop and not all that pleasant for sitting out. Though the units at Holland House are marked it was hard to receive amazon deliveries and several door dash deliveries would end up at my door actually 4 in one night which was rather unnerving. One day a visitor opened up my door and started to walk in because he thought it was the main entrance of the “hotel” a hotel where you clean your own room but have to ask for tools to clean with or purchase them yourself. I ended up on 2 occasions actually helping visitors who had booked on AirBnb because the owner was not there and had no idea they were coming. The hottest weekend of the summer a heat index over 100f, the air conditioning went out and we were all roasting. I contacted the owner and she said she was aware and everyone was yelling at her. After several hours of my dogs and I languishing in the heat and taking breaks in my car that had ac, I contacted her again for an update. She said she “couldn’t do anything until all the guests leave because the system is frozen over”. She unapologetic, did not minimally offer water, ice or electrolytes while endangering the lives of the public who rented from her that weekend. She stated she was out of fans but finally did offer to let me cool off at her halfway house for a few minutes. I thought legally a “hotel” was required to provide a room elsewhere in such circumstances. So, the renters from the halfway house across the street serve as the bulk of the manpower to provide repairs to her properties. Unfortunately, she continues to build while the other properties are in disrepair and ultimately is utilizing a type of “slave labor” to get things done. I have known similar slumlords who live in luxury while they exploit those less fortunate probably on the government’s dime and holds their “affordable “ housing over their head while they are doing everything they can to hold on to sobriety and their livelihood. I am certain there are many code violations and other unsavory events waiting to be discovered and I don’t think I want to feel like part of the Holland House family.

They responded very quickly to a minor issue we had when we first arrived, and gave us an option to move if we wanted. However, we did not want to move and problem was quickly resolved. We did not want to move because although we had the smallest room we had the best of the amenities offered. Gorgeous water scene and lovely outside areas, paddle boats, fire pit, grills, and great private sitting and lounging areas. Hostess was generous with info if you wanted any, but left you to yourself if you did not. She has a sweet and beautiful dog, and the owner happily welcomes good dogs and good pet owners. The place exceeded or expectations and we will definitely return with friends and family in the future.

Me and My husband stayed Feb 18 2021 for 3 days. The website pics were beautiful but nothing beats seeing in person. The view from the dock of the lake was memorizing. The Holland house had fishing rods, kayaks, paddle boats and grill. We took advantage of everything. No additional charges. Naples beach 2.5 miles away, 40 mins from everglades. We would definitely come back.

DO NOT STAY HERE, RUNDOWN LODGING AND EVEN WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Terrible experience, broken glass and insects all throughout the unit. When we brought this issue up to Jantina, informing her we wanted to checkout early and to refund our nights not yet stayed, she retaliated by posting negative reviews about us. Despite the fact we told her we didn't want to cause trouble and left a kind review stating it was "a good value stay".

Love this little AirBnb. It is cute, clean, and comfortable. It has everything you need-- shower, bed, tv, kitchenette, wifi. Small but cozy, and on a nice property located near the beach and downtown. My sister and I enjoyed our short stay here.
