I had switched vets in 2021 after mine had retired after being with him for 30 years and was actually his head Certified VeterinaryTecnician for 15 years of the 30. I really liked the practice and Dr Richard's. I only had good things to say. Not sure what changed 2023 but the practice has declined. I have 2 dogs, my frenchie is a healthy dog but does mildly suffers from allergies and when she itched they would get me in immediately or at least with in a couple of days for a tech appointment to get the shot, last time took almost 2 weeks which was odd for me but ok not an emergency and I was also advised they didnt have a full staff due to illnesses. Then a few months later my Frenchie after a hard previous day of playing with a puppy woke up in a lot of pain and it was obviously to me it was a back issue, I called and was told they could not get her in for a week, that is INSANE, my previous vet would have NEVER done that to any established client. I was greatful for Dr Bowers office getting her in immediately and thankfully it was just a muscle issue. Over the weekend my geriatric dog vomited a lot on Sat evening. I started him on tagamet and he was improving but due to being 15 -18 years old (and they have the wrong age for both dogs) I called and wanted him to have a quick check up, I would drop off to make it convenient and was advised that there was a $110.00 drop fee. Never have I ever heard of such a thing for an established client. This practice does not care about your pets or they aren't knowledgeable enough to handle emergencies so they are good for routine vaccines and maintenance. Strongly recommend if you go to this clinic make sure you establish at another vet that is willing to treat their exsisting patients with compassion.

My husband & I take our 3 fur babies here to see Dr. Richards, our dogs have never liked the vet & would always shake in fear… but not here! They absolutely love coming to see their “friends” & they care for my babies like they would their own! We will be forever clients of Bayshore Animal Hospital & Dr. Richards!

We rated this as a one star, only because of what happened on 11-7-23. If it had been any other time leaving a review we would have given a 10 across the board without fail. If you are a first timer or getting ready to bring your beloved pet here for care "BEWARE" make sure that the "Fill-in" doctor filling in for Dr Neuman is gone. Her name is DR. NICOLE FERGUSON D.V.M. If you don't heed this warning you too may get an unpleasant surprise visit from animal services knocking at your front door. We have been going here for almost 10 years and absolutely love the care and genuine interest to making sure our babies receive the care From Dr. Richards and or Dr. Neumann. For this reason we drive from Lehigh acres to Fort Myers. We found them after a very traumatic experience form another chain store type vet, which unfortunately killed our Maltese, do to the medicine not being prescribed by that vet. We trust them both for all that our little ones may need. Yesterday, we were seen by this Fergusson to get our Yorkie Puppy his 2nd set of puppy shots, and get his nails trimmed. When this Ferguson came in she asked if our Yorkie "Kobie" was caged. We both replied No and no way. She continued to say "She could see fecal matter in between his paw pads. that is why she asking. We told her they do go out on walks and at times during the night, he may have an accident which is picked up in the morning. sometimes during the night he play and run through the house while chasing or being chases by our other yorkie. This could be the reason for seeing in his paws. When animal Services came out, they explained that they had received a complaint after visiting the vets office yesterday. The officer could see both our babies as they ran to the front door to greet the new visitor. The officer and could see no concerns and was puzzled by the complaint. They officer asked if he could take pictures of them and I said sure. The officer came into the house to look around and again had the same puzzled look. We live in a beautiful home we had built, both own almost new vehicles and have records to prove we make sure our furr babies are taken care of. Sometimes we go without for them to have what is needed. For Fill in Doctor to do such a thing to have such power needs to be looked into. If anything as a fill in "doctor" she should have to discuss her concerns with one of the other vets and then decide if any action is to be taken. We are good people. we could have gone to their office and made a scene, but we decided to first make others aware so this does not happen to them. I will personally will make sure other vets are warned who may be considering her to fill in for someone in there office. I guess she feels because she worked at the humane society she has the right to make this call on her own at the sake of loosing a customer. I though that at first to find another vet but decided no because we know the talent in this office provides and this Ferguson is only a temp. My wife has PTSD, had these babies been taken away from us it would have been the end of her world for sure, from a complaint of this nature. Really??? Mrs. Ferguson, if you are reading this, think before you act and make for damn sure you have your facts in order and have done your research before trying to destroy someone's family and business you are Temporally working. Ps. I removed the title of Doctor because to be referred to as "Doctor" it encompasses everything from A-B. In this case you failed on a few different levels. If you sit back and just think this whole thing through again you will hopefully see your mistakes. Ever since I can remember I have always been there to take care of a sheltered animal(s) 2, lost animal(s) 2, a truly abused animal(s) 1 I took from his abuser, chained to an outside tree no water or food for days, collar cutting his neck. You will see in our pets history they have or are in the process of getting shots etc what is required of them.

We love Dr. Richard’s and have been going here close to 6 years. The last 2 times I have called they said they couldn’t get me in and referred me to go somewhere else. I wasn’t expecting same day or even next day, but I called elsewhere and they got me in same day 2 hours later. If they are going to refer out anyways, I’m changing vets. If they are booking that far out they should have stopped accepting new patients for a period of time.

I spoke to someone 10/04/23 to get an estimate on pricing and book an appt. (Don't recall her name) She was so polite and answered all my questions! Unfortunately I didn't use this place cause I found another closer to me with a sooner opening, however this place had very reasonable pricings for a check up and shots

Everyone here makes sure that you and your pets get their full attention and care. They truly are about your pets and show it on every single visit. Dr. Lisa Neuman is the kindest, gentlest, caring and most knowledgeable Veterinarian I have ever had the pleasure of working with. We are huge dog lovers and we’ve been blessed many wonderful companions over the years. When we moved back to Ft. Myers we knew we had to find a Veterinarian nearby. We had heard great things about Bayshore and from the first phone call we made to our first office visit everything we heard was true. They made of feel like our dogs health and happiness were their number one priority. I look forward to many years of care from Dr. Lisa Neuman and all of the staff at Bayshore Animal Hospital. I simply can’t imagine going anywhere else. I promise once you go you’ll be writing a review yourself singing their praises. Thank you to everyone there for giving our kids all the love that you have.
