I was totally, completely satisfied with Transmax Transmission. They serviced my transmission and repaired the rear main seal for 1/4 what the dealer was going to charge me. They performed the work flawlessly and much quicker than I had expected. The front office staff was kind and thoughtful. What more could you ask?

This business and the people that represent it are truly awesome, professional and understand what customer service and quality assurance all are about! Chris is an amazing business owner and treats each customer like family - the family members he really loves, not the one he tolerates! And, Lisa, his office personnel, is very warm and friendly and is always ready to assist in any way possible! The mechanics are seemingly young yet are highly skilled workers. My car has never run as smoothly as it is running now! I plan to keep Trans Max Transmissions in my life for as long as possible!

I was referred to this place by my son, and I am so glad I listened to him. Not only did they take care of my truck. But the most amazing thing I seen (which you don't see it in many places) was an elderly lady (79) came in and wanted to make a payment. Chris came out of the back office and handed the lady the cash she gave them. He told her "I want you to keep this until you get back on your feet" she said how did you know that I was trying to get back on my feet? His reply was "because you told me about it". She gave him the biggest hug and was so greatful to him. The service was great but when you see that type of kindness, it's just unmatched. Thank you all for everything you did for not only me but for the other customers that I had the pleasure of seeing come in and out.

I went to see Chris at TransMax in Ocala today because I thought I was having an issue with my transmission. What a great group of people! Lisa in the office insisted on making me a cup of coffee with her new machine. (You'll have to ask her about her new " Camel Macaroni" coffee creamer!?)
They ran a diagnostic test and found that I actually was having a misfire on cylinder#3.
Imagine my surprise!?
Thank you guys so much for your expertise and making me feel welcomed. You also provided some great entertainment!
I highly recommend this business if you need ANY mechanical repairs!

Absolutely fantastic service, quick and hassle free Chris and his team are Absolutely wonderful and definitely go above and beyond for the customers.
Had a issue with my transmission stranding me at my house fast response time and had my vehicle to the shop within the same day. Turn around time was quick being I needed a full rebuild, team was even 2 steps head of all my questions about bypassing my oem integrated transmission cooler and went ahead by passed it and added a stand alone unit.
All in all highly recommend this team for any transmission related issues, aswell as earned any future self reference for where to go first time around!

The people were courteous and professional. However, they charged me to replace the vehicle's battery without consulting me before hand. The resolution at the end of the day is acceptable, but this incident has left me with a less than favorable view of this business.
EDIT TO REPLY : I don't know what this $646 number you are talking about, but the invoice and my credit card statement says that I paid $760.

total 710.32
Tax 49.72
Grand total $760.04.
So you either charged me for the battery( $220 at O'Reilly's) or you seriously over charged me for a shifter cable that I could have picked up my self for less than $100.
Either way it's done. I was willing to absorb the cost as lesson learned. Bottom line, you did work that was not requested nor was it authorized before hand.
EDIT 2: Yep you offered a refund AND to come swap out batteries. I'll admit that. It wasn't an offer to do one or the other. It was "We'll give you a refund and come swap out batteries." This tells me that you DID charge me for said battery. By that time your company had lost my trust and you weren't touching the vehicle again. And you're right the battery and it's additional cost was not part of the original quote nor was it authorized.
But i'll tell you what, Give me the part number for the shifter cable and the company you ordered the part from. If my research finds that the part cost $288. 66, I'll eat crow, make an apology here and remove this review.
LAST EDIT : Yeah, I know about markups and discounts with commercial accounts. If the price had been even close I would have apologized, but no.
When you called and said you found the issue with the battery and had already had switched it. I was in a bit of a crunch so i just brushed it off. When I called, after getting the vehicle, to question the matter, you were aggressive and said you'd come get the battery and give me a refund. Why would you want to come get the battery before giving me a refund on something you now claimed that was "free"?
Why don't you just admit that you charged me for a battery that I did not authorize prior to you doing the work.
And yeah, I probably could have done the work myself, but I was too busy moving into the house we just bought and getting the house we moved out of move-in ready for the next tenants. So yeah i was busy, but you go ahead and feel good about yourself with all the name calling. All while avoiding the actual issue.
As far as other shops I've used, they have always called me about an issue BEFORE they did the work, not after. Never had a shop try to pull a fast one on me. Also never had an owner become so aggressive, confrontational and totally unprofessional when questioned about an issue. So there's that.

We lost our transmission on our Ford Excursion in Ocala back in May. We were on our way to a wedding in Tampa from Wisconsin. They towed us to the shop and immediately diagnosed and quoted us a transmission rebuild. Everyone was extremely nice and worked to get us back on the road in 2 days! 10k miles later we have no issues with the rebuild and are very happy with the service! I would highly recommend Trans Max.

My mechanic referred me to transmax when I needed a new transmission. Chris the owner took my call and did everything possible to fix the van and get me the best price. They all were so kind and caring . My husband was in the hospital and they came and got my van and brought it back it to me and gave me a beautiful card and bouquet of flowers. They really care about their customers. They were like family to me.. in this world of so much hate they are a bright spot of love..I highly recommend them. Thank you again Transmax...
I have tried to write another review but it won't let me so will add to this one. Trans max definitely stands by there warranty. My van was making a strange noise after they repaired it. They came and got the van fixed it at no charge a problem that wasn't related to the transmission . Brought it back to me. Talk about going the extra mile for customers they outdid that for sure they went a marathon. To find such kind generous workers in this crazy upside down world is worth everything. No way to thank them enough only can say please use them for your repairs. This world needs more people n businesses like this one.

Disappointed. I was very interested to call this shop to get a 2nd price on a torque converter replacement due to the good reviews. Lisa was very pleasant over the phone but said I had to bring my car in for a full diagnosis. I explained I already did that at another shop & was just shopping prices so asked if I could get a general idea. She said no. I am not interested in paying another $150 diagnosis charge when I know what is wrong. If they had a better price then by all means let's do the work up & make sure we have things right. Sometimes it takes a conversation to get the relationship going. Apparently they are very successful & don't need my business.
