Perfect spot for RV camping in the Everglades. Casual atmosphere, super-friendly staff, excellent wooded RV spots. Close to Everglades City. Affordable too!

I love camping, but as I get older I don't always feel like setting up and breaking down everything...especially if it’s just for a night or two. The Shealy's campground came through for me in the best way with a Chickee: super rustic accomodations (I got my camping fix🙌🏼) in a natural outdoor setting with linens and soap provided. The shower was hot and the grounds are BEAUTIFUL! The night sky is EVERYTHING (dark sky certified). The staff is incredibly friendly. Unexpected perk: Skunkape-centric giftshop and animal exhibit (free admission for campers🤩).

You want an experience then please enjoy one night. I will tell you instantly even clamping mosquitoes 🦟 can get ya…be protected but a wonderful beautiful place to stop.
Nice and pretty fro t desk lady, to escort service and a brief of the area and warnings. Then I bought ice and firewood and it was delivered straight to my rv door .
Josh also recommended a perfect peacock bass spot. Ty it was beautifully, got skunked but was beautiful. Thank you to my wonderful hillbilly rednecks in the Everglades, hey me too ❤️

We stayed in Chickee #3. Sleeps 4 Only if you have one couple and two children who aren’t afraid to climb up a steep ladder sleep in “the attic”. There is little breeze and no mosquito netting up there. We were prepared not to have electricity nor water in the Chickee but the campsite it’s on has both. The fire pit and picnic table are 30 feet away to reduce fire risks. The men’s bathroom was Ok but the shower floors were pockmarked and the walls full of cobwebs and bugs. The hit/cold water was fine. I wouldn’t stay there again. I didn’t feel like I was in the Everglades. It’s too close to Rout 41 with cars and trucks speeding by all night long. Bring bug spray. The mosquitos are relentless. (Late April)

This place is magical. We booked this place last minute on a whim and drove all the way from Texas. When we arrived, we were quickly checked in and there were enough spots to choose our site so we chose the spot right by the pond. It was gorgeous. In the daylight the plants are so lush and green, at night the stars are so clear. All of the sites are close to the bath house, but not so close that you can hear any noise. Our fellows campers were considerate and friendly as well as everyone we encountered that worked there. They have some cool attractions, a laundry room, lots of wildlife, a well stocked camp store with all kinds of camp/survival essentials- ice and water available as well. The location is close to a bunch of air boat tours, gator attractions, amazing trails and there’s even a well rated, little restaurant not far down the road. We stayed at a different campground following trail lakes and we can’t stop talking about how much we miss being here 😂
10/10 and we will definitely be returning in the future and recommending to anyone planning a trip to Florida. Thank y’all for a wonderful home away from home.

We stayed in a tent for a week. We really enjoyed this place. Has coin laundry and a bathouse. Has a gate and keypad to get in and out. Located right on the Tamiami. I would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed at Trail Lakes a few times. I have tent camped there and have rented one of their beautiful Miccosukee chickee huts. This is one of the few places left in Florida that you can camp in a natural area that is beautifully landscaped and not overcrowded. The owners are a multigenerational family that are true locals to the Everglades. It's a little bit funky and quirky and 100% wonderful. They also have some wonderful tours into the surrounding beautiful areas with knowledgeable local guides. I give this place an enthusiastic 2 thumbs up.

This is God's land. A place for solace and a real experience of what family in the community means I have always been fascinated with this area and camp I love Jack and the family and if ya happen to make it for a music fest well do it. If ya go ya gotta go barefoot it's the real thing let the energy flow from this sacred land as you will feel it but I really can't tell anyone because you just have to see for yourself. Thank you again everyone it was amazing once again and Jack next time we gonna need one of the buggy's lol.
Keep it up guys we will be watching for the band to play around South Florida. Y'all got a gift and thank you for inviting us and letting us experience it together with everyone.

Super well organized campsite. They were even there to help and advise us on how to make a great campfire out of dead palm leaves. All in all it was a great experience (despite the heat and mosquitoes).
