I have been going to this location for about 20 years, always dealt with Nelson. He has always had the best customer service , the cars have always been in great clean and running condition. While Nelson is still Amazing since Avis took over the auto’s don’t seem as good and rates for them have gone up. Sad to deal with a place for so long and the same person yet a new company steps in and you have to look elsewhere.

Very bad experience when he gave me the key and I took a look at the vehicle the driver side front tires barely had tread on it I opened the door to the car very very dirty

absolutely ridiculous qualifications to rent a small car. They will take your reservation and check in online and then when you get there they will deny you.

NEVER GO TO THIS LOCATION!!! Nelson is a liar, a gas lighter, and flat out unprofessional!I wanna start by saying I’ve used budget for almost ten years whenever we travel. I’m aware that different locations have different requirements. I understand that traveling throws you through some hoops and not everything goes as planned. We’ve had issues in the past and they always get resolved. Inconvenient at times yes, but when dealing with cara and humans that calls for some flexibility. That being said Nelson should not have a job.We initially exchanged our rental just a couple days after picking up due to a dead battery and brake issue. We had no problem at the Stanford location with this exchange. The gentleman was extremely helpful with the process and extending our rental.Fast forward a few days later…. A rock hit my windshield in the van. I thought no big deal, I’ll let them know on drop off. The next day I woke up and due to the Florida heat the crack had grown. So I called budget and they advised me to exchange bc the heat will crack the windshield completely before we leave.I spent all Saturday morning running around to 4 different budgets bc the gentleman (at orange city) who helped me, processed a return not an exchange and then started flipping out on me saying I asked for a return. He was rushing to go get his car from the Toyota dealership. And that’s why he messed up. We had laughed about the Florida weather and cracks. I clearly told him I would have kept it till the end of my trip but BUDGET advised me to come exchange. He laughed, mocked, and was okay leaving me and my little niece stranded. He was gaslighting and refused to admit his mistake. He was lying to his district manager and refused to let me speak to him. Said he will call back in two mins.30 minutes later he rented me the same “damaged” vehicle for an extraordinary rate. When I corrected him he said he was adding the initial discount I had. When I got to the car I realized he was charging me by hour and day not weekly. The next location didn’t have a vehicle to exchange. When I went to the closest airport to exchange they told me orange city reported the car overdue and stolen and the paperwork he gave me wasn’t accurate. He didn’t apply a discount he rented the car for one day. Smh! They couldn’t help me but printed the correct paperwork and called corporate who told me I would have to drive 40 mins to Orlando!! It was already past 1 o clock on a SATURDAY. I’d spent over four hours exchanging vehicles.I will never rent through them again. I never had issues that weren’t resolved until this ORANGE CITY, Florida location. Nelson needs to take accountability for his mistakes! Budget needs to hold him accountable or fire him.This exact manager, which isn’t his title but what he called himself(also owner), has many bad reviews, recent bad reviews, about exchanges gone wrong. Budget needs to retrain or kick him to the curb asap. You’re loosing valuable customers and will continue to share this horrific incident and waste or my weekend everywhere.

Average service. Car was not clean when I picked it up. I had to ask the agent to get all the dead bugs off the windshield.

One of the worst experiences in rental car space I’ve ever had. Unprofessional, filthy car with ants living in to go with trash left in vehicle upon pick up. Front desk help Nelson tried to charge $140 for fuel when car was returned with a full tank. I wouldn’t rent from this place again even if it was free.

Rented a car at the airport location. Check engine light and battery light came on. Car stalled out at intersection. Called for replacement of my weekly rental and was told to go to nearest location to get a car BIG MISTAKE. I got there the one person working had me waiting to come out he approached the counter telling me what were you gonna come behind my counter I said no I was going to look to see if there was another entrance in back. The worker then made light of the fact I had a wait and basically dismissed me. I explained I was sent for a car exchange to which he answered from where look around so you see any cars on my lot. He then said he had two but had reservations for them already, he said when you call they always send people there. My dad walked in with his cane cause he has issues walking he then began to be nice by looking up another near by location and telling me to go there needless to say would never go to this location again no respect for customers or compassion.

Amazing experience at this location with Nelson. I had been in quite a predicament and was overwhelmed and emotional. Nelson was so kind and reassuring. He made the process so peaceful and easy. Vehicle was great, clean, totally positive experience.

Had a reservation booked two weeks in advance. The day of pickup I got an uber to pickup the rental. WHEN I GOT THERE THEY DIDNT HAVE IT AND BASICALLY TOLD ME THAT THEY DONT CARE. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE.... CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!!!!

If I could give this place a negative rating I would. The WORST customer service I have ever experienced, my fiancé had rented a car from saturday to tuesday, and we had called to extend the rental on tuesday to the following saturday (one week), the guy who had answered the phone said “make sure there’s 237 on the card” and hung up, come to find out on friday they tried charging my card almost 1,000 dollars for late fees because “we never extended the rental” but the guy had never processed the rental. That same tuesday when I tried to call back to get a conformation number on the extension, I was hung up on but the 237 was still charged to my card. Then we called friday to get those numbers waived because 330 plus 237 does not equal 1,000 dollars (maybe i’m doing the math wrong but it doesn’t make any sense??♀️) then we had to change our drop off location from Orange City to Orlando and we had called friday to inform them and the guy had said his system is down and he cannot change the location and to call back at another time and told me to call at 5:30, we called back and they were closed. So today we had called first thing in the morning when they opened and the manager had picked up the phone and I explained to her again the situation and why we are changing the location for the drop off and even though the day before she told me everything will be waived and the location can be changed today she proceeded to tell me a whole different story, once I started to get frustrated she had told me to go “F**k myself” and I was just appalled by that behavior especially from a manager. And they still have not put in the fact that we did extend the rental so we are still being charged 1,000 dollars for a rental that shouldn’t of costed more than 600. this company is a joke, their employees are also a joke
