12/26/2023 11:00AM ESTI bought a money order (marked moneygram) at my local Space Coast Credit Union branch in Orange City FL about 6 years ago and was told at that time the money orders do not expire. I had forgotten about it until last week and went into the same branch to cash it, which they did. 3 days later I received a letter from Space Coast stating the money order bounced and they debited my savings account and overdrew it although my checking had more than enough to cover it. The letter receive has a substitute check on it and the letter states it can be used like a regular check. I went into my local branch in Orange City Fl (the stand alone location) and was unable to cash the check. The person at the counter was not helpful to say the least and became disrespectful AND would not cash the check. I have been the phone for over 2 hours looking for a resolve. I have been a customer for over 21 years but apparently in this day and age that means very little.

Do not bank with these guys. Terrible service and they repeatedly did not do what they said they would do. They don’t do what they say they’re going to do and will completely waste half of your day. They agreed that they made mistakes, but they still wasted our time. Myself and another party, drove over an hour to finalize a deal and because of their mistakes we canceled the work. Do yourself a favor. Spend a little more and go to PNC or Sun Trust. In the end, it will cost you more in time in mistakes going to this bank. Also, the lady we worked with was very condescending during our phone call on Friday as well as well today in person.

I wanted to wait to make this post but Space Coast Credit Union has left us with no choice.I hope this review makes a negative impact on their company, because they have made a huge negative impact on my sisters life.On June 29th, my sister received a check from a relative as a “first home” gift and Mobile deposited it that night into her account.On June 30th, my sister went to log into her account but it was locked out.That morning, I told her to call SCCU. They told her, her account is on hold due to the check having a very small misprint in the MEMO section and someone needed to review it. The first letter of the memo was somewhat written in a way that looked like someone wrote the wrong letter and corrected it.We found this to be very weird. It was the MEMO section, not the signature or even money sections.That afternoon she physically went into the bank where she was told it would be 5-7 business days as the account was being invested for fraud!!! WHAT!ALL of my sisters money was inaccessible, her bank account was locked out AND her credit card was locked out!Knowing she had a two week vacation happening the NEXT day, my sister was hyperventilating and stressed. She JUST moved into a new house AND about to go out of town for two weeks with NO money!! (Family loaned her money in the mean time).After a week, she called the bank with no explanation or answers because her account was still locked out. She got no where and was 800 miles away from the nearest location!Once she returned back from vacation after TWO WEEKS and her account STILL being locked out, she physically returned to the bank on July 14th.At this point her credit card bill was due with NO way of her being able to pay it….Which means, her credit now will be affected as well.She supplied documents that showed the money (a very large sum) was withdrawn from her families account and that there is NO reason after two weeks, she still can’t get access to her account or money.After the gentleman submitted the documents that proved the money was withdrawn he said “someone will call you by the end of the day and it’ll be unlocked by tomorrow”.Well y’all, it’s definitely NOT UNLOCKED and it’s almost been an entire month!! My sister works business hours and having to take time off work costs MONEY. Her money is already on hold and they won’t release anything!She’s had to constantly ask family to help with finances.I am disgusted In this bank. I have no faith in this bank and I’ve banked with them for 6 years now with two companies. I will never, ever recommend this bank again!!!

Terrible website. Unable to change anything about my auto pay online because the website automatically logs you out due to "inactivity" in 10 seconds after logging in. Have to call or go in branch to do literally anything.

After going to Wells Fargo and Chase, both of which i currently bank with, I decided to try Space Coast to set up a Business account. Can I just tell you how amazing Abby was! It was fast and easy and I am really glad to have gone in. Thank you again.

Jason went above and beyond helping me settle some tedious and time consuming affairs. Watched the entire branch work like a well oiled machine. While it may not be my bank, it has an amazing staff.

I opened a business account through SCCU last month and it has been impossible to operate my business start-up due to SCCU's "loss prevention". Every time I try to use the new account, I have to spend hours on hold or go to this branch. As soon as they lift one hold, another one they "forgot to remove" pops up. I have spent over 5 hours of my time over the last month unlocking freezes and holds. I am typing this as I sit on hold waiting for loss prevention yet again, 37 minutes and counting. If you are a small business start-up, they care FAR more about their bottom line than yours.

Best bank of all time ?I love the online customer service I can fix any issue I have without even having to talk to anyone. And the way the workers treat customers is unlike I've seen at any other bank, they are genuine and very patient.

I have been with them for over 14 yrs. They have my car loan and had my home loan. My wife passed away and i ran on hard times. I asked for a loan for 500.00 until i close on my house. They tend to not want to help when your in need and have the collateral. Closing is just 1 week away.
