This place is SOOO much better than the last few I rented from. First of all, it's not a big whale of a faceless corporation. I prefer spending with a real local business over franchises, and this place doesn't disappoint. The last few places I rented from didn't have carts, didn't have automatic doors, and forced me to buy a new lock. A couple of them didn't even have employees, it was all done online and they kept raising rates every few months. No employees to pay but they kept charging more. Because of course.
Lockwood storage not only has carts to use, but the one I had over the weekend was tall enough that it reached the floor of the moving truck. That was helpful to be able to just slide things off the truck and onto the cart, and not have to bend over a bunch of extra times. They also have a rolling stepladder, which is helpful because of how tall the ceilings are. I moved from a 10x10 to an 8x10 and have more room. The automatic doors were nice because I was never hit in the heels trying to wheel my stuff inside.
It's a nice clean facility with bonuses, 5 stars!

Update 4/19/25: After mailing the photos of proof of the damage sustained as described following, this manager has yet to contact me, acknowledge the proof of damage, or apologize. The damage did occur as described, and it was due to a water leak in the ‘atmosphere controlled’ storage room. Still waiting for the acknowledgement and apology. Guess I’ll pack a lunch.
The contract with this company, like all self-storage facilities, has a clause not just limiting liability but that completely excuses them of all responsibility in case of damage to your property. Understood.
However, if they’re going to call a storage unit ‘atmosphere controlled’, they should never neglect to ensure that it is actually atmosphere controlled.
I trusted this facility that their units would be free from excessive cold and heat, excess humidity, and certainly free from roof leaks.
I chose to temporarily store a large quantity of valuable antique paintings and pictures in period, original frames… and it was under a roof leak. The moisture utterly destroyed pictures, frames, and documents.
The attendant who saw the damage when I cleared the unit was shocked at the extent of damage. I suffered a loss worth tens of thousands of dollars. They re-rented that space within a day or two with no repair because they denied the leak was there.
They say they are not responsible even though they should have known of the leaks. I have photos to show the watermarks on walls and on the concrete in the unit. It did not dawn on me that the watermarks were from leaks but it’s safe to say if that had occurred to me I would never have paid for their unit.
There are other storage facilities in Oviedo.
I recommend you use ANY of them over this place.
The owner was unapologetic and didn’t contact us afterward. It was difficult to even get someone on the phone.
If you do rent here and use their ‘atmosphere controlled’ unit, have insurance, and certainly check for signs of roof leaks first.

If you are looking for a great storage facility that is safe and two very caring employees that will take good care of you then look mo further !!!!!!!!

So far so good with this storage location. The service has been absolutely amazing here! Samantha helped us get everything set up. She was very professional, helpful, and she just has really AWESOME energy! She made us feel so welcomed from the moment we stepped in. The price is really fair for the size we got. I've paid around this price for less than half the size at other storage facilities, so I'm glad this place is around. The entire place is very clean and well taken care of. I definitely recommend this location if you need a storage unit.

Very pleasant staff, they will work with you and guide you through the process of renting dos and don'ts. Samantha and Alex were very informative and answered all my questions I had, they even worked with me during the pandemic. If I can do more then 5 stars I would, and recommend Lockwood Storage for your storage rental needs.
