I don't find it correct that they want your social security number just to pick up western union for a small amount. It's ridiculous. That is something so personal and any employee if they want could steal your information. This company needs to take that out. If you are getting a loan or doing something important with them I would understand, but in this case no. Not even banks that still have money wiring services don't ask for a social security number. You need to look into that. Very unhappy going through this from this company

They're so great over here at amscot!! They hold a special place in my heart they've helped me so very much. People talk about the crazy interest rate but really it's like twenty to forty bucks to get some cash for a couple few weeks and really it's no different than having a really good friend that knows you'll pay them back so you throw a little on top. Thank you team, your greatly appreciated! Read some of the other reviews and decided to expand upon my review. These people behind the counter work extremely fast and are very efficient at what they do to be honest. I've been using amscot and tell ya what I've NEVER had a bad experience, the staff is friendly and if they ask something of you it's because they NEED it to do their job. They're not being any kind of way about anything except for following protocol which is their job. To anyone I ask that had a bad experience [ I get everyone's not having the best day but remember there's two sides to every story]. How did you act? These people are good right in right out, they handle the lines well, they move them through fast anyways so there's really not much of a line to speak of.

I was treated like a criminal there yesterday in palm bay. I had a personal check for $100 from my cousin and everything had to be checked on the telephone with a supervisor. They wanted my social security number, my fingerprint on the check, and the phone number of my cousin to make sure they gave me the check. I've been to other stores in the past and we're never treated so poorly. Don't use this store.

I get told one thing on the phone with customer service and the opposite when I visit this location. This store needs to get on the same page as the rest of the company and maybe act like they are there to work. Lazy and unprofessional.

Thieves! My bank says their money order is no good and Amscot won't cash their own money order since I tried to deposit it at my bank, so I'm stuck with a worthless money order for $700.00 and no way to cash it.

Most likely the worst amscott in this area. I went in to cash 4 money orders and was refused. The cashier (also the manager) advised she couldn't even tell me why. So you work in a place with either little to no communication or you were just refusing to tell me. Alright, that's fine I called the 800 number so they tell me it's due to me just verbally saying I tried to deposit the funds into my online bank (capital one). Capital one does not accept money orders through their online checking system. So nothing ever went through. The man on the phone advised to go back in and call my bank and have a representative talk to the “managerâ€. So I do just that, I call capital one, I get the representative to tell her that it's literally impossible to deposit this money order unless it's mailed in, he advised her there was no successful attempt to deposit the money into any account, there was no atms in my area to deposit the only way I could is if I send the physical copy to their mailing address. So even after all that she tells me, sorry we still can't take it because we don't know what account you were trying to deposit it into.
