Kevin and Susan are some of the kindest, most knowledgeable people. They always have friendly attitude when you walk in the store and will know you by name. I could not have figured out how to cure my pool without the help of them and their staff.

Love this place! They had the exact floaty we needed and Kevin was so helpful in getting it for us. Just a heads up though. If you get the giant swan it is best you inflate it outside your vehicle. Ours got a little stuck. Whelp. You live and learn, right?

We just had purchased a new home, and the pool was in bad shape. We randomly stopped by on a weekend, and talked to Susan and her staff for about two hours. Talked about what we needed to fix ( new filter, pump, etc) and also talked about converting the pool to salt, and also was thinking about buying one of the high end cleaners ( probably would have spent $5 or $6k. They could not give us a price on the spot as they needed to know the pool size, so we went home that day took the measurements and called the store, and spoke with Kevin. He said Susan would call us on Monday or Tuesday...... Still waiting for a call back this was about 5-6 weeks ago now. In the meantime we found a great pool company who has revitalized our pool! The lack of service is certainly disappointing. Needless to say I am also an Interior designer, with many clients in the area, all of who are probably also going to shop elsewhere.

Am about to drop my pool service and start doing my own chemicals, so I needed to find a store to start buying my supplies from now on. A woman answered and I tried to ask a couple questions about their products and prices to see if I would be using them. It was clear she didn't want to be bothered and all she would reply is that she'll only reply if I come to the store in person and then literally hung up on me. If a store can't be bothered to spend a minute or two on the phone to gain a new customer that would be buying their products for years, then I'm not going to waste my time driving to their store to give them my money, i'll be giving it to your competitor.

The rudest employees! Got into an argument with an employee over parking, would not recommend

Bad experience having a variable speed pump installed by Kurt, but I chalked it up to a bad day. Now, I needed a flow switch replacement that Hayward themselves diagnosed and advised me to get from a service center but I get a runaround from Susan. Equipment was registered by the original installer and Hayward has diagnosed the problem and advised us in an email to get it replaced but Susan wants a receipt of purchase. The equipment was installed when we had the pool remodeled which took about 7 months. So the receipt shows we purchased it longer than the warranty period, but the installation was within the warranty period. So Hayward has it registered and under warranty but Susan wants a receipt. Bottom line, we will pay the $125 for the switch and just start using another company going forward. They do the bare minimum and don’t really care about you whatsoever. Why wouldn’t they just call Hayward and get the date of install? When we called them, they had all the information with installation dates. They claim to be family oriented but I just don’t see it. Go elsewhere. 3 stars instead of two just cause I consider two stars unbearable and this place is fine to buy consumables but just not somewhere you can rely on for service.

I recently had them install a new salt cell and cord. It took 15 minutes and the service call was $150. Electricians don't charge that much! The following day I called because I had a low cell voltage light and I thought possibly something wasn't tightened properly. Susan said she'd send Kurt back on Monday. I called after 5 pm because I hadn't heard anything and the warning light was still on. She said he was here but she had to read the report and would call me back (I had to call them to see if he was even here). She called back and said I needed a new circuit board. I asked how much a new curcuit board was and the price she gave was $539 plus another $150 to install. When I said I wanted to do my due diligence she said she was charging my card another $150 for him coming back! After she told me that I shopped the board and can get it for $378. I DO NOT RECOMMEND their services and would never use them again!

I needed help with my pool and new heater .The valves were complicated and the pool was green. Kurt from Pinch a Penny came to my house and went above and beyond to explain how they work and what I should do . Kurt was excellent and I would definitely recommend him and Pinch a Penny to anyone who needs help with their pool and great customer service !

We had a great experience with Susan and Kurt. They recently replaced our pool heater, pump and automated everything! They do phenomenal work, cleaned up the site well and did a great job explaining how to use the new equipment. It is obvious that the team takes pride in their work!!
