We started at Safe Haven with Dr. Stuart who was fantastic. We have two higher maintenance Dobermans. Which lands me at the vet monthly sometimes more (between the two). We have decided to spay our older female due to some serious hormonal / behavioral issues. Due to her breed & some medical background she is a bit more of a high risk. When Dr. Stuart was our vet he did NOT suggest spaying our dog. We also got other opinions (Pinelakes) who also were very strongly against spaying her. Unless I did thousands in testing & went to a surgeon with an anesthesiologist. Dr.Williams seemed very confident she would be okay to go ahead and spay. We did bloodwork and made an appointment for spaying. Yet obviously we were a tad nervous. So questions are understandable you'd think? Getting information on additional testing, details and requesting if they would give plasma was like pulling teeth. I was also trying to budget with my husband for this surgery as he is the sole provider. Yet without idea on testing and additional needs a solid price range was hard to get. This is a -/+ $1000 surgery. I requested to speak to the vet at his convenience (or get an email from him)......Yet all I got a week later was someone at the front reading me his short hand notes over the phone. The spay appointment is in less than two weeks. We did have a pre-op appointment a week before surgery. Yet that appointment is when payment is due & speciality testing is being done. I think having a solid plan prior to a planned surgery isn't a lot to ask. Then yesterday I called for advice with clearing up some puppy acne before a dog show. They told me I had to come in for that and it would be almost two months out. It really was a simple phone call or tech advice situation. Wasting the vets time & my own over some dog pimples is pretty silly. To be fair I've never called and asked them for advice prior to yesterday. I would always just come in if they suggested. Yet puppy acne I draw the line. I am a licensed esthetician. I have always tried to be an understanding client. I am understanding of the vet shortage, I adapted to the new vets with open arms, show up on time, always move my appointments around to help their schedule, am very trusting & do suggested testing and so on. I am really disheartened by how I have been treated. Yet I think we just need a more knowledgeable and professional vets office.

10+ experience with our 2 furbabes! The care they receive in them being in the advanced age group is definitely the upmost care you could ask for & a welcome relief as us being their caregivers! When moving from TX 3yrs ago we were concerned to find a new Veterinarian in FL. Upon our first appt. we knew we hit the "Jackpot!" From the signing process to end of appt. is awesome! The most fun part is the play time & the staff greeting our babes! They all greet them with loving hands & caring kisses! I did not mentioned our babes were always hard patients in going to Vet's...now they absolutely love going to Safe Haven because they know the Staff will welcome them with loving hands!!! I would refer anyone to go there & can not say enough good words about Safe Haven & the care we receive going there. It's truly is a Safe Haven for them & for us being their caregivers! Thanks again to all the Staff, we really appreciate your diligence & love your caring hands!!!

I had a bad experience with the vet that saw my girlfriends cat. How do you give aspirin to a cat that is beign treated with a urinary blockage when asprin causes kidney failure? Her cat was already having trouble with crystals in his urine but was giving asprin. Sadly her cat passed away this morning leaving my girlfriend and her family heartbroken. I would think twice before ever using this vet

Hello, My name is Ellie Earley, and I was a patient at Safe Haven Veterinary Hospital from 2007, until 21 October, 2020 when I passed away. I was a rescue Dog who came home with my forever family in 2007, and they prompty brought me to Safe Haven for an exam. I had a wonderful life filled with endless love, hugs, kisses, belly rubs, playtime, lots of great food, and my own yard. My friends at Safe Haven took the best care of me, and always showed me lots of love when I would vist them for a check up, or my vaccines. Although I am not here anymore, and my family is heartbroken, but my last memories are being wrapped in my blanky in my papa's arms with my sister kneeling by my head so I could see them. They gently kissed, and stroked me. Dr Puckett, and Brian were there, and were so kind, loving, and gentle. As I slept away to Rainbow Bridge the last thing I felt was love, and the last words I heard were love from my family, and the kind folks at Safe Haven. So to all my furry firends out the, please tell your family to bring you to Safe Haven when it is time for a visit. Ellie Earley 15 September, 2005 - 21 October, 2020

Took my Willow in at 7 weeks, and she’s been going ever since. My snoopy seemed to like them to. Before moving here, he had only seen our Vet in Tennessee. Very clean! Staff is super friendly, gentle, and show all of the babies some love!

Little Man had to have teeth pulled. They allowed me to sit in the lobby with him til his anesthesia wore off. As a rescue he gets horribly upset if he's put in a cage. The always make sure any meds are liquid because he has issues with pills. And they act as if neurotic, over protective owners are normal. Staff is invariably kind.

Awesome experience for our pup Dakota. We love that they board there also. Safe Haven took great care of our GSD for 5 days. I didn’t have to worry about my baby.

Beware, they have started charging $20 (per pet) when you try to order prescriptions for your Pet thru PetMeds, Alivet, etc if you haven't seen them in the past 30 days. This is a new one to me!!!

Dr Stuart and his staff have always gone above and beyond for my pets. Recently he was able to help save my dog, who has cancerous tumors throughout his body, and give him a better quality of life. I cannot begin to express my gratitude towards this man or his staff for everything they have done recently and in the past few years for my dogs. If you want an honest vet with experience and empathy, you've found your guy!
