Marie was said to know her stuff, but she made multiple mistakes right in front of my mother. When we politely asked her to double-check her work, she responded rudely and told us we could take our taxes elsewhere — completely unwarranted. If you're that quick to get defensive and push clients out the door instead of fixing your own errors, you can't seriously call yourself a tax specialist.
She left multiple times to ask other staff for help — relying on them to confirm information I had already brought up and clarified myself using AI tools. That’s not a specialist; that’s someone untrained and unprepared.
She also gave out my phone number without consent and had someone call me at 9 PM the night before my appointment, telling me to pay because “everything was done.” That kind of contact at such a late hour is completely unprofessional — and even worse, nothing was actually done. The return was not ready at all.
Instead of owning her mistakes or responding professionally to concerns, Marie acted with hostility and told us to go elsewhere, after my mother politely asked her to double check her work as she's made multiple mistakes in front of her. As in coming up with 700 for half of 14000$. One would understand I wouldn't trust the calculations to have been made correctly.
Tax preparation involves sensitive data and serious financial implications. If someone displays this level of disorganization, defensiveness, and disrespect, they should not be in a position of responsibility.
I am completely done with HR block, my 2022 got amended for them messing it up and I need to go over 2023 as well. They butchered that one as well.
Super overpriced for somebody who just needs to copy numbers and messes that up too. Just one of the biggest scams.
To top this all off I picked Alicia who showed to be a senior tax specialist. Yet it gave me Marie who doesn't have that title yet. States that she's been doing it for 25 years and she is a senior tax specialist. She can't even do simple math. She obviously can only do simple tax returns. If you're independent, make sure you don't go to her. Hope HR block lets go of some of their 'tax pros' and reevaluate what it means to be a tax pro. Otherwise just call them tax layman's.

worst, worst, and I mean the absolute worst decision I ever made was coming to them in 2022 to file my taxes. Not only were my taxes not filed correctly, I was also never notified that I had to download the my block app and actually accept my taxes.
Months and months of talking on the phone with different members of the team. Years later In 2025 I finally give up. I go into the office to get my w2s so I can file them myself! I get two papers back get all the way home and realized the woman literally printed me two copies of the same w2 instead of both w2s. Silly me for not double checking. Not only did I waste time I wasted gas, because now I still have to drive back up there to get the other w2 that the woman didn’t give to me. This tax place sucks!! The workers are so lazy, you’re better off filing your own taxes on turbo tax

They charged me $160.00 for a simple return which took only 15 minutes. They should be more transparent and advise their customers up front on the price. Next year I'll do my taxes online instead. And it won't be with H&R Block.

I am putting this review for the front desk personnel name Janice, she is extremely rude, very unprofessional, very arrogant, very argumentative for a front personnel that answer phone calls. She need customer service 101 Training. For a displeased customer she has no compassion and doesn’t care at all, she has no time to listen and not to mention when I ask forHer name for the record and she doesn’t want to repeat it and hang up on me. I called back H & R block main office to file a formal complaint. On the other hand, my tax preparer Buddy Stinger, he is very pleasant, very professional and very will to help. i have so much respect for him.Customer Service is not all about client/customer satisfaction but providing professional and pleasant way to deal with customer. i have been a client for 7 years and this is the most rudest encounter I have for a so called grown adult in my entire life.

Friendly service and we were in and out in 40 minutes. Scott was great and answered all of our questions and explained everything clearly. Would definitely recommend this place no matter how complicated your tax situation might be!

It appears that most have had a simple return that are shown by the comments. If you sign up for a delayed payment to the IRS, this will not happen as planned. So, this year and the following, if you go back there, then tell the truth on your comments.
