Prior to a couple weeks ago I would have rated this place very high. However I am extremely disappointed in the unprofessional way they handled closing the St. Pete location. At this point I'd rate them zero stars and call them scam artists. They sold me a 10 day daycare package for over $300 in mid February and disclosed they would be closing the store February 29th. The next day I attempted to take my dog they had a sign on the door saying they were temporarily closed for the morning. They never opened again, never contacted anyone, and despite my calling and visiting other locations and leaving messages asking for a refund, I've received nothing. No contact, no response, no refund. I talked to many others who were treated the same. Seems like they quickly took money for services not provided and rather than refund, they are going ghost. Either I get a refund soon or I am getting a lawyer involved and asking for not only a refund of what I paid but compensation for days missed from work because they closed unannounced. I will also tell everyone I encounter not to trust these people with your pets. If this is how they do business, one can only assume they cut corners with pet care too.

Stay away from Royal Pets Market & Resort they don't pay their employees on time. They also stopped paying employee health insurance but took money weekly from the employees without reimbursement and without letting their employees know they had no insurance.

My dog was covered by a mid-tier wellness plan in the last 2 years. I received a reminder via USPS last week about her upcoming test. After an in-person visit, I've been scheduled for an appointment. When we went back for the test, they told me I didn't have a plan. There was a problem with the payment, which is why our plan got cancelled. As I wondered why, my credit card is the same, I did not receive notification from my bank of anything trying to charge me. It turned out that the prices had changed, I guess they needed my permission to charge the new ones. So my plan just got canceled. The same services are now only available in the most expensive plan for twice as much. This is a very shady business practice. As the economy changes, I understand that prices are going up, but this is not how this should be handled.Edit: I was wrong about the plans. The structure and included services of the plans have not been changed just the price.

Been bringing my dogs here for years. Last Saturday my frenchie went in for a bath, nail trim, and anal gland expression. Two days later, I come to find out her anal gland has been ruptured and now it’s infected. I take her back to royal pets, where they then charge me 40$ to express her AGAIN, and an additional 160 for the vet seeing her, and meds. I’m all for paying for the services if this was out of the blue. But, one of your groomers messed up, never told anyone, and now my dog is in pain. There was no apology. Next time, fess up the same day and you won’t end up with one star reviews.

I shop at Royal Pets at Least 2 times a week. I scheduled a New Grooming Appt for my Mini Daschund. I spent 30 mins on the phone scheduling , 15 of those mins I was put on hold. They Canceled my Appt the following day because Jacob was sick. I rescheduled for the following Saturday, Jacob was sick. So I scheduled for the following Friday which is today I LEFT work an Hour Early and called to confirm my appt. I was put on hold for 15 mins, I hung up called back and got Rhonda again. I SAID did you forget about me Rhonda? She said " No I was just tracking down Jacob and he wants to leave? I said what about my 5pm appt? She said Jacob can see You Sunday at 10am. I asked for a different groomer, she said " I have someone on Monday, But you probably work?" I said ok. Sunday at 10 with Jacob.I started to think about it and I called back and cxled Sunday with another Female and told her my Frustration. Oh and By the way they offered me a discount for canceling my appt. 3 times in the period of 3 weeks. I will not shop at Royal Pet anymore I will go 3 blocks down to Pet SuperMarket. I have an appt for Mason tomorrow at Salty Paws.

I think they got new groomer there. Alex did Great Job on our first time puppy. Was not expecting that bc first time grooming for him, he is only 5 months old. But it’s came out Wonderfull !!!

We are not a first time customer of Royal Pets Market. Its seems like the area lacks a well run/reasonable boarding and grooming place. We have used this location 5-6 times and have yet to have a good experience for our Golden. I notice a common theme here. They are not well managed. They are always disorganized and always combative. Its the common theme in their reviews. Once again, we boarded our dog 4 days to include a bath and grooming. We asked specifically to clean up his ears and feet. We called Saturday when we told them we were returning, and we could tell they were scrambling to start his bath/grooming appointment. We finally called again and said we were driving down to pick him up because they end pickup times in 30 minutes. They finally brought him out, bath and NOT groomed! Feet look like clubs and knots behind his ears the size of golf balls. For $460 that they get from us, the damn dog should be ready for the Westminster dog show. Let alone the fact that you pay for having the web cam and that has been down for months. No discount off your daily rates even though they aren't offering the service your paying for. The expectation should be that you get the experience that your paying for. We complained he was groomed so they took $15 off. Its not the high schoolers or college kids that play with your pets. Unfortunately its the lack of leadership and the poorly managed property. Overpriced for the experience you get. We WONT be back.

As a long-time customer of Royal Pets Market & Resort, it saddens me deeply to have to write this review. We have used Royal Pets for grooming, boarding and veterinary services for years. Recently I made a vet appointment for my dog, I had to reschedule a couple times - once because my 8 month old son was in the hospital with double pneumonia and RSV and another time because I had an important work meeting come up and couldn't miss it. Each time I called ahead, hours ahead, to let them know. Finally I was on my way to the vet final rescheduled vet appointment that I actually took time off work for to make sure I could be there and not have to reschedule again. Unfortunately I got stuck in traffic on the way. Again, I called and alerted the staff and told them I would be less than 15 minutes late and I was less than 5 minutes away and just was stuck in traffic. They told me that they could no longer see my dog for her appointment. Mind you, I drive over 30 minutes to this location because I loved them so much. I was livid. But that's not all. After I was in my way home, after telling them I would no longer use them for a vet, I get a voicemail from them telling me that I've essentially been blacklisted and would no longer be able to use them as a vet unless it was same day service. I asked them why. They said that they have a policy that if you is 3 appointments then they can only offer you same day services. I was beyond livid at that point. I've never seen or heard of this policy before. If you have a policy then fine, but you need to make the customer aware of the policy BEFORE they are blacklisted. You need to COMMUNICATE your policies to your customer. I went from wanting to find a different vet to never wanting to use Royal Pets ever again for anything! It's heartbreaking and upsetting that they would treat a long-time customer this way. And it's not like I rescheduled for stupid reasons or no showed to these appointments. I was very communicative with them and they were not communicative with me. Will never use Royal Pets again and will advise friends and family to do the same.

The staff seems to be very friendly, but I will not leave my dog here. The area that they call the hotel is just small. The outside privileges are just wrong. You need to pay for things that should be included.

My fur baby goes here all the time for grooming vet services as well as boarding the staff is always amazing and makes my little man feel like he is one in a million

Boarding is great, groomers are not. As we picked up one of our dogs, the customer in front of us was complaining thar her dog was hurt while being groomed. As she argued, we paid and left, but once we got home, our dog started yelping as well. We called Royal pets and they claimed the dog was fine, even though she was obviously in pain, which the groomer must have ignored. An emergency trip to Blue Pearl and they had pulled a muscle in her back.

Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable on pet supplies and they have good variety of options
