We are not a first time customer of Royal Pets Market. Its seems like the area lacks a well run/reasonable boarding and grooming place. We have used this location 5-6 times and have yet to have a good experience for our Golden. I notice a common theme here. They are not well managed. They are always disorganized and always combative. Its the common theme in their reviews. Once again, we boarded our dog 4 days to include a bath and grooming. We asked specifically to clean up his ears and feet. We called Saturday when we told them we were returning, and we could tell they were scrambling to start his bath/grooming appointment. We finally called again and said we were driving down to pick him up because they end pickup times in 30 minutes. They finally brought him out, bath and NOT groomed! Feet look like clubs and knots behind his ears the size of golf balls. For $460 that they get from us, the damn dog should be ready for the Westminster dog show. Let alone the fact that you pay for having the web cam and that has been down for months. No discount off your daily rates even though they aren't offering the service your paying for. The expectation should be that you get the experience that your paying for. We complained he was groomed so they took $15 off. Its not the high schoolers or college kids that play with your pets. Unfortunately its the lack of leadership and the poorly managed property. Overpriced for the experience you get. We WONT be back.

As a long-time customer of Royal Pets Market & Resort, it saddens me deeply to have to write this review. We have used Royal Pets for grooming, boarding and veterinary services for years. Recently I made a vet appointment for my dog, I had to reschedule a couple times - once because my 8 month old son was in the hospital with double pneumonia and RSV and another time because I had an important work meeting come up and couldn't miss it. Each time I called ahead, hours ahead, to let them know. Finally I was on my way to the vet final rescheduled vet appointment that I actually took time off work for to make sure I could be there and not have to reschedule again. Unfortunately I got stuck in traffic on the way. Again, I called and alerted the staff and told them I would be less than 15 minutes late and I was less than 5 minutes away and just was stuck in traffic. They told me that they could no longer see my dog for her appointment. Mind you, I drive over 30 minutes to this location because I loved them so much. I was livid. But that's not all. After I was in my way home, after telling them I would no longer use them for a vet, I get a voicemail from them telling me that I've essentially been blacklisted and would no longer be able to use them as a vet unless it was same day service. I asked them why. They said that they have a policy that if you is 3 appointments then they can only offer you same day services. I was beyond livid at that point. I've never seen or heard of this policy before. If you have a policy then fine, but you need to make the customer aware of the policy BEFORE they are blacklisted. You need to COMMUNICATE your policies to your customer. I went from wanting to find a different vet to never wanting to use Royal Pets ever again for anything! It's heartbreaking and upsetting that they would treat a long-time customer this way. And it's not like I rescheduled for stupid reasons or no showed to these appointments. I was very communicative with them and they were not communicative with me. Will never use Royal Pets again and will advise friends and family to do the same.

Boarding is great, groomers are not. As we picked up one of our dogs, the customer in front of us was complaining thar her dog was hurt while being groomed. As she argued, we paid and left, but once we got home, our dog started yelping as well. We called Royal pets and they claimed the dog was fine, even though she was obviously in pain, which the groomer must have ignored. An emergency trip to Blue Pearl and they had pulled a muscle in her back.

*UPDATE* I am very happy with the communication from the CEO, Denise. Immediately reached out to us and took responsibility for the vet's actions. A sincere apology which doesn't happen often these days. As I said before, the staff have been friendly and helpful on our fist two visits. We are definitely going to try again. Total shock at the way we were treated today. Tater, my Frenchy, had his intro meet so he could begin having fun at doggie daycare a few times a week. Little did I know, they do not tell you, that their vet assesses the dogs breeds. I bring him at 7am, call at 11am to see how our baby is doing. Then came the news of this obviously ignorant vet, Dr. Hillary Tieslink, the audacity of this person and this company floored me. I was told Tater was kept in a holding room because she classified him as a Micro Bully and he's not allowed to play with the other dogs. First... are you blind. Second... why the F would you not call me immediately. Third...He's been there two times before when we were inquiring about the place and not one staff said anything like that. But wait there's more. (I tell them I am coming to get my baby right now, how dare they lock him up by himself without consulting me. Were they just going to wait till I picked him up that afternoon?) When they bring him out to me all the staff pet him and tell me how sweet he is. So WTF. Here is a kicker, I go to their page and they have a Frenchy that looks just like him, minus the cropped ears, on their page in an advertisement. Here's a few pics of our Tater, his best friend Oliver the cat. oh and the random dogs he meets on the streets. Ignorance is bliss I guess. Lost a few future customers today.

I've been bringing my cat and dog here for years! They have been my vet since day 1 and i feel like i don't trust anyone else. We have used the grooming, hotel, and daycare services for our Benny and trust he is well taken care of. I have my dog on the monthly canine plan where we pay $60/month or something and it comes with almost all of the shots, unlimited visits for $10.00, spa day, 1 overnight stay, teeth cleaning, etc. Great deal! The ONLY recommendation I have is for those of us who do pay the monthly plan and have an emergency, should be sqeezed in, if possible. 2 emergencies with our dog and could not get in for DAYS... however the plan does offer an ER trip at a reduced cost to a specific ER soooo we can't complain too much Thanks for always taking care of our fur babies

My wife had a horrible experience with Royal Pets and will never go back. Complete bait and switch on their pricing for grooming. She had called and received their price list for grooming services which was reasonable and in line with other groomers. She made an appointment and confirmed what service she was requesting and it's price. Once she arrived for her appointment she then dealt with an extremely rude guy who was completely disorganized and claimed the price she was given was incorrect. When she explained she called and went over the pricing with the store he essentially called her a liar. He then quoted a price for grooming that was now 3 times what she was told on the phone and what was on their price list. Needless to say, she declined and walked out disgusted. I guess she should have paid attention to their high percentage of 1 star reviews. Lesson learned!

We've been taking our dogs to Royal Pets since they opened this location. We've used the veterinary services, grooming services, boarding and purchase items at the store. Our most recent visit was to have our XL reactive dog neutered. Everyone was so calm, and our pet was well cared for before, during and after procedure. They keep us informed of his progress. Many thanks to all at this location and special thanks to Dr. Bryan McGoldrick & Missy.

My Lily loves coming here! Everyone is so nice and you can really see how much they love all the fur babies. I like how everything is in one place vet, grooming, pet hotel, doggy daycare and a good selection in the store.

I have used royal pets for boarding my dog for 2 years. In the last 6 months I've noticed the service going down hill but continued to use royal pets since I felt my dog was still being well cared for. Many times when I call, I need to call several times before the hotel staff answers the phone. On our most recent trip, I brought in proof of my girls bordatella vaccine and let them know that she would not be getting it during her stay as I had gotten it done with her vet a few days prior. They person checking her in took the proof of vaccination and scanned it in. When I picked her up 2 days later I was charged for the Bordatella vaccine. It turns out that they gave my dog the vaccine anyway. I have a dog with severe allergies which is why I decided to have her vaccine done at her normal vet. They removed the charge for the vaccine and an additional $30 or so. The manager never came to apologize or speak to me directly. The excuse I was given by the associate helping me was that it was a busy morning.. when I dropped my dog off at 7am we were the only ones in the store. Needless to say this was complete incompetence on the hotel and veterinary staff. I will be finding somewhere else for my dog to stay in the future.

I went in hopeless wanting answers about a gecko that has not eaten in a week. To my surprise Lee answered questions that I could not find searching on the internet. Really has gone downhill! I used to love coming here. Not anymore. I scheduled an appointment and luckily called to confirm it only to be told it was not scheduled until 3 weeks from now. This is after I confirmed the original appointment 3 times.
