Quality/ price of fresh produce and meat/seafood is exceptional. Bakery has many nice products to choose from such as fresh bread, cookies, cinnamon rolls and pies ( they also offer 1/2 pies). The other grocery items are pricier unless you buy the store brand.

THE BEST PLACE FOR PRODUCE! We visit at least once a week to stock up. Prices are decent, employees are very kind and the selection is incredible. Also, their bakery is amazing! The store is ALWAYS packed, but that's a good thing. They are rarely out of items and are constantly restocking while you shop. It's great!

We've started going to Detwiler's before Costco for food for the holiday week. Fruit is so fresh and the meats and cheeses are amazing. Staff is wonderful and they have samples of juice and dips that make our son very happy to be there! Plenty of wonderful things including the sandwiches made to order and don't forget to get some ice cream on the way out!

This place is amazing! A friend introduced me to it and very glad they did. Fruits and vegetables are incredible. Amazing seafood counter. The meat counter is huge and absolutely some of the best I've ever purchased. When I am back home in Canada, I literally can't wait to go back. This is a destination market. I tell everyone they must go there. It's not close to where we are staying but worth the drive. Once you go here it is hard to shop anywhere else. I wish they had one in Toronto. Very large and busy but check out is very quick. Tons of fresh made on premises food that they give out generous free samples. The made to order subs are some of the best anywhere. Very generous and I mean generous amount of ingredients on the Sub for an extremely good price. The cinnamon rolls are to die for. Actually all their baked goods are homemade and tasty. My mouth is watering just thinking about them. Get your butt to this market and you will be forever glad you did.

Very nice, love the atmosphere and the fact that they support local businesses. The pizza is amazing and the doughnuts.

This location is large and has an incredible selection. Their friendly staff has always accommodated special requests.Detwilers has the best quality meats, seafood, and produce around at amazing prices. They always have great weekly sales and I’m able to stock up the freezer several times a year with meat and seafood. Their deli makes great sandwiches and the ice cream is delicious. They have name brand items you’re used to and their own brand which you cannot go wrong with. Being from the Philly area, it’s great to get items from Amish country back home like birch beer, kettle chips, and home style baked goods.

My, what a charming little farmer's market. Kind of like Stew Leonard's without all the kooky spooky animatronics running amok. The produce here is a showstopper for sure, especially compared to the caca you'd be buying at a regular store. This place would be perfect if it wasn't for all the grievous derelictions of hygiene. In less than the span of an hour I spotted not one but two dogs riding around in shopping carts, and not once did I witness an employee ask their owners to hit the bricks. Imagine getting hookworm because some mutt was dragging its dupa in the same spot you put your food. But that pales in comparison to the free sample protocol, where most of it is just left out in the open with zero supervision. I watched children hovering their drooling faces in pastry bowls, people sticking their nasty unwashed fingers in packages of cheese dip... Blegh! With hygiene violations like these I can't imagine it'll be long before the health department shows up to crack some heads. Turned what could've been a Five Star experience into a Three Star fright fest. Disgusting!

I love Detwiler's for their large variety of fresh fruits & vegetables. Their ice cream counter is also super yummy! The only negative thing is that their meat & seafood section smells downright disgusting! I always try to avoid that back section because the smell is very overpowering. It makes me think their meat & seafood is not fresh. I haven't brought myself to enter that section yet because of the smell so I actually haven't tried any of their meat/seafood.

I love shopping Detwiler's Palmetto store. The produce, meats , seafood and bakery are full of variety. The produce selection is very fresh. The Detwiler team is also great. The store can be very busy, but the teams behind the counters work quickly, as do the cashiers. Be sure to check out the ice cream before leaving the store!

Excellent market. Unfortunately they only extended to Manatee County and Sarasota County. The market has variety of choices. One thing impressive is their pineapple cutting machine. Fresh pineapple in and cut and clean pineapple meat come out in 5 seconds. Love it. The fruits selection includes tropical weather fruit from Southeast Asia. I saw rambutan, jack fruit, sugar apple there. The seafood selection is there. What impressive is their marinaded seafood in skew. Love it for easy cooking. Unpacking and cook. The deli also have a lot of choices. It include the coffee and sandwiches. They carry many rare item non perishable food.

We went for the produce, and stayed for the ice cream! Detwiler's has a selection of produce that is unmatched, but did you know that their ice cream alone is worth the trip? We will drive from TPA to Detwiler's for great weekly specials and unique baked goods but the ice cream is always a treat. This store is like a food Disney.

They said they had fresh flounder shipped in from the Northeast for 8.99 a pound and it was delicious. I also tried the mahi-mahi, and that was amazing too. along with all the fresh vegetables and fruit you can eat everything has been perfect. Their prices are hard to beat for what you get

Great store. Lots and lots of produce, and generally good prices for *mostly* local produce. I wish they had more organic options, especially for fruits and veggies. I love the bakery and deli/butcher areas as you can usually always find really yummy in season items there. Only took off a star because they make it seem like their Saturday before closing discounts are the best deals ever but they really aren't. If they're going to be closed Sunday and trying to get rid of perishable items still left over, why not put discounts on more items than just very specific fruits? I also have noticed on multiple occasions there's been mold on baked goods still on shelves. It's common with homemade items with no preservatives, but just something to be aware of/check for.
