My teenage son and I both had massages yesterday. We both really enjoyed them, and I do recommend Hand and Stone. Matter of fact, I even signed up for the membership. However, I am a bit confused because my son and I had two completely different massage experiences, even though I paid for us to both get the same Swedish massage. For example, my son's masseuse had him start on his stomach like normal, and then halfway through she had him flip over to his back, so she could massage the front of his legs, arms, hands, and even his head. My masseuse kept me on my stomach for the entire 50 minutes, so he never massaged the front of my legs, arms, hands, nor head. While the massage I did get felt great, I felt like half of my my massage was missing. Matter of fact, I thought he was about to tell me to flip over, but really he was just telling me the massage was over and it was time to get up. Also, I would like to point out that customers pay for 60 minutes, but they only get massaged for 50 minutes, as the other 10 minutes are saved for undressing/dressing.

Update: the “management” reached out to me as you can see below. I contacted them but they never got back to me. Their comment below was simply to save face, make it look like they cared about poor reviews. They have no intention of hearing the concerns nor correcting them. There are many massage places at the beach, go to those.I truly do not like writing this review but feel that the owners and staff need to know my thoughts; I had a massage yesterday and it was hands down the worst, and strangest massage of my life. The front desk staff was great, and the panic button under the beds is a welcome touch. There was something off about the therapist from the start though. Parts of the beginning of the massage had potential but it just never went anywhere and it was essentially a session of just rubbing oil on me without the actual massage. The therapist was awkward from the start and when tucking the sheets to the point that my legs were barely uncovered and only my calves and a few inches above my knee were touched and my feet were never touched whatsoever - completely ignored. Who gives a massage without including the whole leg and feet? My arms and hands were just as bad - essentially my palm was tickled and my hand worked back and forth like I was the Tin Man getting an oiling. All the strokes were abbreviated and short. I couldn’t help but think of Friends when Ross massages Phoebe’s client - clearly Ross is not a therapist and it didn’t go well. I kept thinking this person did not go to massage school because how in the world would they have been able to graduate without any skill whatsoever!? And how did they get hired? Anyway, I give the therapist no stars. I’m not sure I will give this place another chance. I cannot image going through that again!

Love Hand & Stone!!! I go every month for a massage with Sheenay and it’s absolutely wonderful every time. This month I had a knot in my shoulder and she went above and beyond to make sure I left feeling great!! I’m so thankful to be taken such good care of. Thank you!!!

Membership canceled. Had a massage Jan 10th before the last monthly membership fee was automatically debited, paid for the service. Membership fee debited 5 days later and management hasn't responded to email and messages left to be reimbursed the membership fee since I paid at the time of servic and canceled in December.
