The lady in the front office when I first arrived at the Flamingo was nice.. although she told me I had to wait 30-45 mins before helping me get a room due to her having to do a night deposit. Which was understandable I guess since it was 12:30 AM...So I tried to take a shower 7 hrs later.. only to find out, there isn't any hot water.Went to let the front counter know.. and Dennis the " Property Manager/ whatever " had a attitude and proceeded to tell me to calm down when I told them how unacceptable this was. He had also stated that they had just turned off the water and that it prolly just needed time. However, my few days stay there. I learned that in Room 135.. you have to turn on the hot water and let it run for 20 minutes before it actually gets hot.It seems as if the ladies that work there are afraid of this Dennis guy.. the maintenance man didn't have NOTHING nice to say about him... and the dude needs to attend some sort of customer service class. The room 135 I stayed in still had food in the fridge from the tenant(s) before. The floor wasn't swept nor was it mopped. The place has potential, parking lot sucks, customer service was bare minimum, room cleanliness was below average standards,.. it's an honor for me to give this place a 1 star. Would give it 0 stars.. but we can't do that can we?.

My husband and I were not pleased at all with the conditions of your establishment. It was not made known to us prior to scheduling nor afterwards that the hotel was under repairs. The open disgusting pool and the plywood blocking off the stairs and making it difficult to get to our room. Front desk staff at check in wasn't pleasant. Our 1st room was dirty. The bed sheets had blood and pubic hair on them and were wrinkled. The TV didn't work nor did the freezer. The 2nd room had a dirty bathroom and blood on the door handle. As a infectious disease nurse I was appalled! I've attached pictures and would appreciate a response.

"While in the area teaching a Youth Mental Health First Aid course, I had the privilege of staying at the Flamingo. The attention to detail, outstanding service, and serene ambiance truly sets it apart. As one of the world's top hotel reviewers, I've experienced many accommodations, but the Flamingo offers a unique blend of Panamanian charm and modern luxury. The staff was attentive, ensuring that even after my sessions, relaxation was paramount. If you're in Panama, this gem is a must-visit. Check out my comprehensive feedback on my Google Maps page for more insights. #FlamingoPanama #MentalHealthFirstAid #ChristianFrazierReview"

If you are looking for a new, fancy condo, this is not the place for you. It is dated...BUT....it is well kept. *Bathroom was small with only a shower (shower needed a little work, drain was completely loose... however, if we had mentioned it to front desk, it would have been fixed).*Room had a nice big closet. Full size refrigerator, small stove, microwave. A few dishes, a little cookware and a few eating utensils. Enough for two people though. Especially when you don't do a lot of cooking! Hey, we are on vacay!*Big TV (which made my husband happy as he watched the Batman game).*Floor could have been cleaner. My white socks (the ultimate test for clean floors) was dirty within the first few minutes. I spray disinfect as soon as I arrive no matter where we stay.*Someone brought us clean towels every day. I asked for a broom to sweep the floor and the young lady told me she would sweep it for me but I wanted to do it myself.*View was great. However, the bar area blocked out view of the sunset but I just walked to the other side to get my pictures.*We arrived on a Monday, stayed a week, left on a Monday. On the weekend it got a little loud at night but we just shut the window and turned the air on.*Short walk to the beach. Weather was perfect all week. We usually go in October because the weather is so good and the summer crowds are gone.*Close to Pier Park. Lots of good eating places around.*A short walk to the city pier*The VERY BEST PART of our stay was the STAFF! Every single person we interacted with, from the front desk, housekeeping , maintenance, bar area were super nice! All were helpful. The staff can make or break a vacation! And this staff definitely made our vacation one to remember!

My husband and I spent our Honeymoon there in 1981. Thru the years, we knew the owners and our children grew up together. This hotel has held a special place in our hearts. However, sadly, we will not be returning. The room I requested, was to do a watercolor of the Flamingo. I requested top floor, tower, was told no problem. The front desk associates were bored and rude. Instead we spent 7 days over looking a filthy hot tub full of drunk adults. And on 2 nights couples being amorous. So, sadly my husband will not live to see the Flamingo, and even asking Steve to please move us, he informed me to call the next day, because quote, it’s my day off. Whoever owns this place needs to replace his desk staff, or just be another run down hotel that at one time was truly clean and beautiful.Noteworthy details: If OSHA Tested that hot tub it would be closed. Little kids and drunk grown men. The nicest guy and he was. A caretaker who came up to fix the bed that fell apart when I sat down. Cleanliness , respect, pride in one’s job. He was the only one. To bad.

Our family has been staying here since the late 80’s. This by far was THE WORST we have ever had while staying at the Flamingo. It was like one big family reunion every October when we arrived. Check in time stated on the website reflects 4pm. We didn’t keys until after 5pm. Once checking in to our room, we discovered we had no toilet paper. I had go to the front desk where i was met with an exceptionally rude African American lady to request toilet paper. I had to request clean towels daily. Cockroaches were seen in several different rooms located in the tower building. I complained 4 separate time about not having hot water. On my second complaint, I requested our be changed only to be told no that couldn’t happen. On my fourth complaint they offered to change my room, but that didn’t matter since we were scheduled to leave the next day. I received 2 different answers as to why we had no hot water. Neither answered made sense considering multiples in my section had no hot water. My room was never cleaned even after asking repeatedly for the floors to be swept, cobwebs to be cleaned up, and trash from the previous to be picked up. The housekeeping staff is rude and lazy. When asked for my floors to be swept I was met with the rude response of “well you’re at the beach. You should expect sand on the floors.” During our past visit, we had 16 rooms and over 50 people. Our family has grown significantly over the years and we keep bringing in more people to this hotel. It saddens me say that after 30+ years of memories spread out over 4 generations, we will not be returning to the Flamingo. It is really sad to see how this place has been ran in to ground since being taken over by new owners. I would have thought that the new owners would have treated this place much better since they were supposed friends of the previous owners.

The only good thing I can say is the location is perfect! This place was my home away from home for the last 6 years and many many more years for my fiance's family!!! When we arrived I was glad we didn't deal with the wait that others dealt with after a long drive, but walking into my room to see the couch looked like someone rubbed dirt all over it, walls were disgusting with feet prints EVERYWHERE, NO hot water, only warm and you were lucky to get WARM, HORRIBLE staff working. Asked for clean sheets, got them only to have noticed they were dirty but folded like they were clean so I returned them only to find out she wasn't giving me any more until the morning when the housekeepers arrived! Stayed 7 days NEVER got my room cleaned not even clean towels, had to go ask myself and only did they have them to give after 4pm... I will NEVER be back as this was the worst service I have ever received! The new owners are HORRIBLE and don't deserve to own such a place!Rooms: Rooms were disgusting! I had to sweep and mop upon arrival !!!!

We planned this trip back in May for our vow renewal trip let me say the staff are anything but hospitable and the room was a joke of a cracker box the shower would not get warm, no coffee maker in the room, the housekeeping was a joke lucky to get towels and trash taken out. They have a bar on the sundeck right in front of my so called beachfront room with music blaring all day till late at night where you can hardly hear each other speak. The bed was hard as a rock and apparently there is a pillow shortage since you can only have 2 pillows to a king sized bed!! I stayed here several years ago and it was nice but now I say pick some place else.

We did not stay at hotel but we went to their outside bar. The drinks were over priced and either had no alcohol or less than a shot in them. The bartenders were extremely nice and friendly!! Great location!

This hotel was okay at best. They helped us out in pinch when our other hotel reservation didn’t work out (different company) and got us into an ocean view room for the price of a regular one, however the entire process leading up to it was chaotic and unprofessional. The room itself was pretty decent. I didn’t really have too many complaints since it was a budget friendly option. Everything was clean but we did see a couple bugs. I’m not really sure what they were but were pretty sure they’re local to the beach area. They were squashed and we didn’t see any more.As far as the location goes it’s great! Beach front access and a fun pool overlooking the ocean. It was just a couple hundred feet to the beach which made it all worth it. We didn’t have any reason to really leave the hotel outside of dinner and check out as we stayed for just a weekend so being able to go back to the room to grab our packed lunch, snacks, etc. was super convenient.Rooms: The rooms had a solid set up. In our room, you walked in and there was two beds, then a small hallway with the bathroom immediately on the left and then a small kitchen on the right. Kitchen included a sink, stove and oven, microwave and full size fridge. After that you walked into the dining room with a small table and couch against the wall, and a door to access the beach front balcony.Walkability: if you’re walking to the beach then this a great place. there’s a couple restaurants nearby that are within walking distance but it’s subjective to how far you really want to walk. there’s also a couple of corny little beach tourist shops that are across the street.

My family and I have been coming to the flamingo over sixteen years. We love the location and the family owned hotel. Well this year was not so great. The room was so so. The place is not so family friendly anymore. The appliances were very dated and needs replaced. The price for the room we had was not worth the money. I booked three nights but I stayed just two nights and went else where. How disappointing for the place that we use to love.

Front desk staff was incredibly rude at check in. First room we were checked into was filthy. Dirty towels, urine on the toilet and floor, food residue on wall above trash, amount other things. The second room they moved us to had roaches. Literally took the 8 killed roaches to the office and was met with the front desk lady saying “I’m off for the night”. Finally got into a new room by 12:30 am. Reluctantly that was the best room we had but also our last night there. It really is sad because the property has so much potential and in such a great location. But it’s obvious they don’t take pride in it. A little tlc, new paint, and compassion from the employees and it would be such a great little place.Walkability: Close to pier park. We walked from the hotel to the pier every night but we are also active.

So this was my first time staying here the pictures were great. We was super excited. They had the tiki bar which is what we was sold on. It was expensive compared to other tiki bars around, it’s new they have to bring that money in, but it blocked the view from the beach and the room we was out in was basically a closet. Normally I don’t complain but y’all our balcony came out and you looked at shuckums, when you can out of the room you walked into a wall, we was literally in the back. They don’t have many wheel chair ramps so it is not special needs friendly, the fridge in the room was unleveled and rocked constant, the fan in the bathroom didn’t work. The bedroom didn’t have a tv and it was extremely hot if you didn’t keep the doors open, all in all we made it a good trip but we won’t be back. Read all the reviews before you decided to stay is all I say.

My daughter and two grandchildren and I were passing through Panama City at late night. Website was beautiful: no relation to reality. Filthy room: spider in tub. Microwave did not work. Checked for bedbugs. Beds were clean however only two hard pillows per bed and thread worn comforter. I had kicked my shoes off and by the time I made it to the balcony my feet were black. A dishcloth folded in the kitchen was full of old food. We took pictures. Never again
