We rented a Chevy Equinox at the Panama City Beach, FL airport. The cat had over 38,000 miles. Very spartan. Many normal features missing for a car that was not at Avis’s bottom tier. Notably, no blind spot warning. No adaptive cruise control. No pushbutton closing of the liftgate. No power passenger seat.It had an intense cigarette odor. Absolutely disgusting.Beware when renting at this location!!!No more Avis for us at this location. You should consider avoiding as well.

I thought I would use Lyft but decided to rent a car instead. The very friendly lady at the rental desk found a car for me even though they were pretty booked and that I had no reservation. I chose the mystery car and got a minivan that I really liked. Great experience

Rip off. I've rented from avis many times. This last time was a rip off. I extended my rental and they wanted to charge 120 for the day when it has only caosted me about 30 in the passed. Complete ri off. Never will I rent from them again

Absolutely worst customer service experience with one of the staff members here. Started ordering her dinner as we were trying to check out and couldn’t recognize military leave orders to properly rent out a car. She was unhelpful and unprofessional. Won’t be back.

Rented a car, but the car didn't have a current insurance card or registration with it.Turns out the police hate that.Also the battery is now dead, can’t get ahold of anyone. So I’m just stuck with a dead car and some police officers. They’re really chill though. I guess impounding it is kind of like a free tow if you think about it.

This last rental from Panama City Airport Avis was the worst experience I have ever had with Avis. I was provided with a car that I later discovered had bald tires with belts showing. I had to return the car to the airport to exchange it for a new one. The car I was given as an exchange was absolutely filthy and looked like someone had taken it off roading…literally. When it rained at my hotel there was mud under my car that had washed off. To boot, the vehicle had front end damage and was an embarrassment to drive for this work trip. I ended up catching a ride with coworkers so I would not be seen with it. If you see the milage I used it literally to get to and from the airport. I am absolutely appalled at the condition of the vehicles I received and was not provided with anything better no matter how much I begged. I will absolutely be raising this issue up with my employer to seek an alternate company for our corporate rental car needs as this situation was completely unacceptable.

Incredibly rude, unhelpful, and lied about availability of cars to me when I arrived for my reservation. Once I changed my reservation online in front of them (something they could not do) a car magically became available. The Budget rentacar employee who interjected into our conversation was especially rude. He was nice enough to confirm they are the same company so I know to avoid both.

I’ve declined the up front payment for fuel at least 3 times and yet they insist on charging me for fuel even though I filled it up.What does it take to remove this option?

I reserved a car at Avis online through Priceline. When I arrived at the airport to pick up the vehicle, there were two Avis employees. One started the sales pitch for an upgrade. He stated that it would only be an extra $7 per day. When asked about the upgrade, I was told by the other employee that I could upgrade to a Nissan Rogue with more space and accessories. I agreed to the upgrade. When I walked out to the lot to get the vehicle, it ended up being a Nissan Versa. I was not happy with the Versa as I wanted the Rogue, like I was told, because it set up higher. Very deceptive business practices that businesses get away with these days. I would be very unlikely to recommend Avis because of this. Thank you

Terrible. Absolutely terrible.Upon pick-up, we were told an upgrade that had been applied when booking was not on the reservation. It would be an extra $700+ — but there were no other vehicles. So we didn’t have a choice.The vehicle’s check engine light came on the second day. The tires went flat. It needed an oil change. The navigation malfunctioned.It took over a week to get a replacement. During that time I was driving an unsafe car that could break down at any time.When Avis finally delivered a replacement, the battery was dead. Before we even got in or drove it.To finally get a car that wasn’t broken down, it required taking a full morning to Uber to the nearest Avis and basically book a new car.The worst part though (yes, it got worse) was Avis’ customer service—or lack thereof. I spent hours on the phone trying to get help. The representatives repeatedly passed me from one department to another, and often back to the department that had just transferred me.Avis’ agents were uninformed, unhelpful and often argumentative.I would strongly encourage a person considering booking a car with Avis to use any other rental.

Checking out our car for a 2 week rental was fast and easy. Only problem with Panama City Avis is there is no shuttle to where the rentals are located which is a very long walk for an old guy like me. Thank God it wasn’t raining. Returning I had the same problem. But all said and done it was a quick in and out. The car we ordered was a 2023 Chrysler 300 which was clean with 25,000 miles on it. No problem what so ever.

This was our first time using Avis and overall we had a great rental experience from start to finish. Only thing that would have been helpful to know was that the spare tire was UNDER the car. (Ended up with a screw in our tire but thankfully it was an easy fix). Online reservation, check-in and return were great features that made everything go smoothly. Will definitely use them in the future!
