I’m a current member of BrightStar Credit Union. BrightStar Credit Union seek to destroy my credibility as a member of their bank. I have an open checking account that was overdraft for about 2 weeks or so. It was an oversight but I never deserved a charge off to be placed on my credit reports for $1,318.09 after just a few weeks. The branch NEVER called me, send me an email or send letters to my home letting me know this information. I found out about the charge off after a credit alert was send to my email by experian, equifax and transunion. They dropped my credit score 35 points. That day I cried out. Because my credit is my life. I can’t run my self employed business without my ability to get lines of credit from my creditors. According to the definition: A charge-off or chargeoff is a declaration by a creditor that an amount of debt is unlikely to be collected. This occurs when a consumer becomes severely delinquent on a debt. Traditionally, creditors make this declaration at the point of six months without payment. A charge-off is a form of write-off. I paid the overdraft amount I owed of $1,318.09 back into my checking account. The bank cashed it and still holding me hostage as IF I committed a federal felony. It’s been maybe 1 month I believe this happened. This is not a bad debt collection situation. I paid them. Please. Please, remove this charge off from my credit report. This is wickedness. I can’t do any business with any bank. You’ve crushed me. No weapon form against me will ever prosper and every tongue that rises up against me, I condemn it, I refute it, in the name of Jesus. Please release me ? thank you!Brightstar also locked me out of my bank account and shut down my debit

I was scammed and Maxine went over and above to help me and to put in an inquiry into the bogus charges taken from my checking account. It took about a week to fix everything and Maxine even called me to check on things. She absolutely deserves a raise. She cares so much for her customers and it shows. Her professionalism does not go unnoticed as well as her infectious smile! Thank you Bright Star Credit Union!!!

Maxine was quick and efficient considering I walked into the branch 10 min before closing to open a checking account. Everyone else was in a hurry to go home and unfortunately the ATM was down. Thank you for your patient and pleasant service Maxine!

I have been a member of BSCU for a number of years. The employees are always welcoming when I need their help resolve any problems I encounter in banking or trying to figure out something for smoother experience in dealing with banking. Today is no different. I already forgot all my credentials in logging in and connecting my account to pay for a credit. Shamira from the Taft/Flamingo branch was very kind and helpful to me in figuring things out for me. High commendations!!!! Thank you Shamira!

Stellar and exceptional customer service! Jayzlin was the epitome of professionalism, helpfulness, and patience. I was at ease the moment I sat in her office. She went above and beyond to ensure that all my questions were answered and my needs were met. She accomplished this with an unhurried, quiet, yet responsive, demeanor.

I went in to open 2 CD's. I had to sign in and wait to be helped. I was advised of the rates and how to do it online so we would earn $25 per account referral. Asked for help to do it online. There was an issue with 1 of the accounts and I was told to check back. Came back a few days later 1 CD they did a deposit check and the other had a problem and they didn't have an answer as to why they couldn't draw my money and do the CD. WAISTED MY TIME AGAIN to try to fix it. Now understand I am just trying to make 2 very large deposits and they can't handle it. Just went there yesturday to tell them I will not be using them since they can't do a simple CD. I was told by the manager they will charge me $20 per account to close because they opened an account to do the CD. The CD that was never opened. This place is a JOKE. Don't trust your money with them! I'm looking to report them but don't know to who so I figure the public should know their inadequacy. Wish I could give them a minus 100!***Was contacted by Bright Star to resolve my review. Maxine or Martina didn't give me their extension so I am waisting My time now on hold for over 10 minutes! To see if im coming back. What to take down the bad review. I think not!As I said this place is a JOKE!

Andrea was WONDERFUL!! THE BEST!!! Personable, knowledgeable, professional, patient, kind, went above & beyond, etc. Too bad she can't be cloned. I would give her more than 5 stars, if I was able to. She's a gem and definitely an asset. ?

Yesterday I did a shared branch transaction at Bright Star as I have done numerous times. I made sure not to wear sunglasses and other items prohibited on a sign. However after providing my id, last 4 of my ss#, etc. The rude teller asked me to take down my mask which I have never been asked before. I felt marginalized and was very upset since no other teller had required that before. If that is the policy it should be posted.

The customer service representative who helped me today was simply great. Not only was she knowledgeable, but she was also kind, patient, and compassionate. She was just the right person to help me with my needs as I am at the moment experiencing an especially difficult time in my personal circumstances. There was no way for her to know this. She was also pleasant and very helpful. One of a kind, I would say. I do appreciate her and the service she provided. Thanks again for having such persons to interface with the public. Blessings.

I had the extreme pleasure of dealing with Andrea on the phone this morning. I had been having much difficulty online trying to "go green" to get an account statement sent electronically instead of through the mail. I was in an endless cycle of hell that I could not get out of.Andrea was extremely patient and talked me through the online process of accomplishing that feat! And I took up a lot of her time. I am so glad that you have Andrea working for BrightStar Credit Union. She is a peach! K.Bender

As an update to the above - which was a devastating time and mind boggling experience with the bank that was oblivious to the disconnected and non communicative levels of over-reach - they are under new management and you can tell. Because I've not had the energy to "move banks" like I initially wanted to after the nightmare, the last 6 months have been nothing short of perfect and actually - pleasurable - yes, that's right. Now, of course they are gonna be slammed and slow at those rush hour times, but they are a "not for profit" bank, remember that next time you get a lower rate that the big corporate banks that suck the life out of all of us! Anywho - for the last 6 months, everyone in there has been consistently kind and attentive - and no, not because of my previous post because some are new that never even met me and I certainly never came in enough to be "known."Everything I wrote up there was not inflated, and warrants attention if you are a widow, or a bank policy maker - it wrecked me for a good month until all was straightened out. Most of the higher ups confessed they didn't know. or so they said. Anywho - there's a new sheriff in town... and it's runnin' smooth.
