This vintage clothing gallery is a museum to fashion, it has pieces that will make you smile and remind you why fashion is ART. The vintage clothing, shoes, accessories are beautifully curated and selected by the store owner. Upon entering I was warmly greeted by the most knowledgeable, creative, funny person. He spent time enthusiastically sharing fashion stories, and fascinating historical knowledge about fashion and culture. This store and its owners are gems. “I started going to American in Hollywood approximately a year and an half ago. Absolutely fell in love with the store. Lately though the prices have definitely gone up. The only other complaint I can report is that the fitting rooms are super dirty (especially dusty). The wait is what it is. Can't ask for more since it is a thrift store.”
“Clean store with a wide selection of clothes. I was greeted by the staff with a friendly “ Hello, welcome to Plato’s Closet”. I’ve been coming to this location for years and have been to a couple others. Ignore the bad reviews, people get upset because they don’t take all their clothes and walk out with 500 dollars and it doesn’t match their egocentric attitude . Named brands or not they are selective with what they take in and take into consideration what season/style it is. Sometimes you might sell 2-3 things or nothing and other days they could take your whole bag because it’s appropriate and what is currently in fashion/good condition. There is a reason you can always walk out of the store buying a cute top, jeans shoes and etc is because they are selective with what they take in. 10/10 I’ll shop here and the Boca Location for Athletic finds and other clothes for my wardrobe. A bonus the owner herself is sometimes at the location and is always willing to go above and beyond to help you or resolve any concerns.”
