Excellent spot for vet care. It’s a mistake to use them for boarding or grooming.

Dr. Meacham is the greatest to ever do it! Always so helpful and caring! I’ll drive the hour there and back just for her because I know my babies are in good hands and they know it too! Her compassion is just ONE reason that makes her incredible

This vet is fine for vaccinations and minor conditions but not very helpful for major injuries. This morning I was at the clinic when they opened because my cat had a serious injury. His tail was broken in multiple places and lacerated. When I spoke to the staff, they told me that the vets would see him at around 9 AM, which I appreciated since I didn’t have an appointment. However, without an exam, they also told me that most likely the vet would examine him, take X-rays, and then send him to LeadER emergency animal Hospital. (Side note: I have been to LeadER before and their prices are outrageous. They once gave ma almost $10000 estimate for a cat that was vomiting without looking at him. They like to use their special machines). As I have had a lot of experience with veterinarians working in animal care for many years, I was surprised to hear that the veterinary staff at VCA Pines West routinely sends cases like mine out. So, I told the staff that I would check with my old veterinarian who’s office opened an hour later. I’m glad that I did.The vet from my old neighborhood saw my cat by 8:30 and didn’t need an X-ray to know my cat needed surgery. The vet then rearranged his whole schedule in order to operate on my cat and my cat is now recovering. So thankful I left VCA.

Dr Meacham is GREAT! I highly recommend your cat go to her. She is so thorough, detailed, and you can tell that she cares about your cat like it’s her own. My baby is 18 years and has been going to Dr Meacham for awhile.

I have been a client since 1995 and drive in from Miami to access the services of Dr. Lori Meacham and her team. Her skill and knowledge are excellent and her demeanor kind and supportive. You can tell she really loves animals and finds ways to help them and their owners too.I feel very fortunate to be able to access her skill and likewise commend Dr Berg, her associate, for his talents.

July 3rd 2023My dog is a long time patient of VCA west pines. VCA denied the refill of my dog's medication yesterday. Dante is 14 years old Dalmatia very old and is in his last months of life; tumors, arthritis, deafness, etc. He can hardly move and the only thing that gives him some quality of life is his carprofen. VCA pines denied the refill to force a visit and scratch a few dollars from a dying dog. I will not allow any lab work, exams or anything that can add more stress to me dog last 100 meters of life and hi doesn't need no one to tall us is a family that our dog is dying. I can't force you to refill his Carprofen (thank you for this medication hi can go by himself to the bathroom) but please consider your facility is forcing an early euthanasia on Dante denied refill,July, 5th, 2023After apologies two day’s later for pay my frustration with the lady on the phone. Ms.Ashley the facility manager decides to take all this to a new level forbidding me access on future visits to the vet clinic. After begging Ms. Ashley to please let my wife take Dante along for the troublesome visit, Ms. Ashley informed me that in order for my wife to conclude the visit I would need to remove all negative comments about my experience from social media and if I didn't she would cancel Dante appointment. I've never seen a business manager who, instead of calming down a fire, decides to pour more gasoline on it and I wonder if Ms. Ashley has ever heard about theFederal trade commission and theConsumer Review Fairness Act

I’m very disappointed with my last experience. Dr. Berg for sure is one of the best veterinarian. Unfortunately I don’t have the same opinion about the hospital management.

I have been a client of VCA Animal Hospital in Pines for at least 15 years and my 3 pets have always been well taken care of by Dr. Berg. In fact, he is the only reason I continue bringing my pets to this vet office. I had an incident happen this past week, which is deplorable and points to the fact that this vet office is now only about making money, with little concern for loyal clients. One of my dogs has an eye issue, which dictates that on a daily basis, 2X a day, she must get a medicated drop. I purchased it originally for the Animal Eye Guys in Ft. Lauderdale, but as it is too far - I decided to get it at VCA Pines. I picked it up this week and paid 108.00, which I questioned as a month before it had been in the 80.00 range. The receptionist mentioned that prices had increased. I bought it, but while sitting in the parking lot of the clinic, I called the Animal Eye Guys and asked for pricing; they quoted me 50.00! I walked back into VCA and related the incident. They went in the back and spoke to Dr. Meechum, as Dr. Berg was not present, and she did not even come out to explain - she just sent word that they could not take back the sealed medicine, that I had just picked up and purchased, and refund me! I am appalled that this is the treatment a loyal client gets at VCA Pines! I am going to have my records forwarded and never set foot there again! It has become a money hungry machine, rather than a nurturing, honest office! To reply to your reply - I did request to speak to the office manager or the vet present, but no one came out to speak to me - although I told the front desk attendant that I could wait.

Most vets are closed on Sundays. Considering this is a hospital I’m not sure why they wouldn’t attend animals without an appointment. I arrived and was turned away because they only attend animals with appointment. To me this should be a clinic. I was referred to another VCA that was closed which was not much help. I ended up going to LeadER which allowed walk-ins and is actually a hospital.

I called at 7 because I have an emergency with my dog. The lady told me the doctor was heading out. After she asked me what was wrong with him, she said she left. What's the point of a hospital when they could care less about the animals that need urgent care.

I went there because my dog had a big cat’s cut on her belly. I was hoping they would help me since it is an animal hospital and an emergency situation. When i showed the cut to the 2 ladies there they told me they couldn’t do anything because it was too deep and i should go to an emergency clinic. They did not care at all. Not even offered something to cover and protect the cut. Very disappointing

Went to take my dog to Dr.Prieto because he was itching his skin, had redness, and was shedding horribly. She dismissed it as being normal for his breed. I did not think it was normal, and decided to take him to another vet for a different opinion. This vet tells me that he is suffering from allergies and a possible bacterial infection, my dog was put on antibiotics and supplements. He took the time to examine my dog, Dr.Prieto did not. Cannot say the same for the other vets at VCA, but my experience with Dr.Prieto was horrible and I do not trust VCA with my dog anymore.

I am so disappointed with Pembroke Pines VCA as their service seemed ok but unfortunately was lied to on coverage of their club care. Yesterday I was given the option for the Club care and all the services of that day would of been covered which included a senior wellness blood tests. The front desk said I would be refunded if I opt to do this package within a week. I decided to take it today, paid and asked them for my refund as proposed yesterday. Manager who was hiding somewhere then says that the blood tests were because he is sick which we already had done tests another day. These are the same blood tests on this package as nurse thought would be good to do because of his age.Beware of how people nowadays can take you for a ride and when confronted they find all reasons to get out of it and prefer to lose a client than making a smart move.

I’ve had dogs my entire life, I’ve been to many vets.. VCA Pines is the best one I have been to. They treat my dog, Leo, like a local celebrity whenever we come in! Dr. Lori Meacham is wonderful. The whole staff truly make us both feel cared for. Very compassionate place that I highly recommend.
