Unfortunately I can't say I would recommend this vet- it seems they bungled our cat's spay surgery which has lead to her going into a false "heat" several times this year possibly for retained ovary syndrome. I brought her back in for assessment and costly tests and never got a call back to confirm the results, despite me calling over several weeks. Given that lack of communication it leads me to believe that was this clinic's attempt to avoid responsibility for my cat's case. I'm now having to seek treatment options at another vet and a possible expensive exploratory surgery. I don't know the rate of complications for a routine spay, and I understand that errors happen in medicine, but the lack of communication and lack of initiative in taking responsibility really troubles me. While my cat didn't die it leads me to wish I had gone elsewhere.

There are not enough words to demonstrate how wonderful this team is. They truly care about you and your fur baby. As an example, I have a cat that is so sweet at home but a monster at the vet. I'm talking they should demand combat fees just to see him. He had a procedure there and one of the techs made tremendous efforts to connect with him despite his viciousness. She sat with him and pet him gently assuring him after his surgery. That means so much! They have cared for all of my pets. When one passed away, their team went above and beyond to keep the memories of him beautiful. I love them!

I had a wonderful experience with the Animal Hospital of Pensacola. They had great availability to fit my cat in. The front desk staff was so friendly and the vet tech/clinical staff that came in before the vet was very knowledgeable and explained everything they recommended for the appointment. The vet was also exceptional and answered all of my questions. Most importantly, they treated my cat so well! The cost really wasn't bad for everything either. I will definitely be continuing care here!

Strange, my earlier review of this business has disappeared. Dr. Baumeister at this office misdiagnosed my beloved Siberian Husky and prescribed Rimadyl for arthritis which, after only one dose, greatly worsened her condition. And I was told that she was obese (a Husky--a self-metabolizing breed that does not get fat) because I fed her an egg when she couldn't eat, when in fact, I learned 10 days later--10 days during which she suffered miserably and needlessly--she was bloated from a ruptured tumor. When I called about the effect of the Rimadyl, the person who answered my call accused me of causing her pain by not continuing the medication. Because of delay in getting a follow up visit scheduled, and on the evening of the same day that she had a referral appointment with an orthopedic specialist at Davis Animal Hospital about an injury she received before she came to me as a puppy (who bought into the obesity nonsense even though by now she was very obviously bloated), I had to rush her to the emergency clinic, where I was told about the tumor and that she was dying and could not be saved, and I had to make the worst decision of my life, to have my joyful little ray of sunshine and my best friend ever euthanized to end her suffering.

They shouldn't get a one star. Gave my dogs shots without asking me . I only went there for grooming . They felt I should not be upset and asked us not to come back. BEWARE

MY DOG IS DEAD! BEWARE of this "hospital"! This vet is the absolute worst I have ever been to. I highly recommend and encourage you seek medical care for your animals else where. Unfortunately, we happened to go here over the holidays last month for an "emergency" visit due to our vet being closed. I wish we never brought our beautiful German Shepherd here! I have been so upset, it has taken me this long to write a review to warn others. To put it simply, I feel Dr. Diana Heath was completely negligent in her care by not having the decency to bring my dog inside for a full examination, blood work or other diagnostic tests. She treated him in the parking lot (with planes flying over head) and wouldn't bring him inside for fear of kennel cough. She refused to look at the video of this strange cough my dog started having the day before. I explained he wasn't around kennels, or strange dogs and that his cough was not typical- just watch the video. He wasn't doing it there obviously and I thought it maybe heart related. She prescribed MASSIVE doses of antibiotics. No other blood work or X-rays were needed as she determined had a respiratory infection although his lungs were also perfectly clear. Exactly 48 hours later, my beautiful friend, my buddy- keeled over and died while we were at our own vet. He had just walked into the room after getting a chest X-ray and blood work. He looked at me one last time, laid down next to my feet and dropped his head with his tongue hanging out. It was absolutely horrific and completely unexpected. The trauma of losing a companion animal like this was so incredibly heart breaking. After resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, we now were grappling with what happened. If tests were done, could we have helped him live a healthy life or at best make his last days comfortable? Tests proved he was indeed ill, but it was too late. We called Pensacola Animal Hospital later that afternoon to let Dr. Heath know what happened. To tell her he didn't have kennel cough like she thought, and to give her some information so that she might treat the next animal better, and to learn from her mistakes. But that didn't happen, she never called back. In fact no one called back, not ever. A few days went by, and we were now looking for answers so we called again. The response was "yah, the message is still here" and rudely hung up. Again, no one from the hospital ever called to express their sympathy, refund our $200+ they charged or to take any responsibility. To this day, we've never received a return call from them. To me, that's unconscionable, dIsgusting.

All the staff from the front desk, the technicians and vet showed so much kindness to my family and my dog. The staff was compassionate, sympathetic, respectful and professional on one of the worst days of my life. My husband and I decided to send our dog Kyoko over the rainbow bridge. I highly recommend them to everyone! The facility is immaculate and very clean. All staff were taking safety precautions and wearing masks. They made this grieving moment as smooth as possible. They explained every step thoroughly and gave us all the time we needed to process and say goodbye. My family is so grateful for what they have done for us. Animal Hospital of Pensacola will always have a special place in our hearts. We will be keeping the card they gave us forever.

We brought our baby tortoise in for a RI infection We were told she couldn't not have antibiotics Shots because of her weight. Instead they sent us Home with meds that couldn't orally give and expected us to do at home. They lied. called our vet and she Is getting her shots. All weekend we felt helpless Knowing we couldn't do anything for her. They gladly took our money and did nothing Thank god I called another veterinarian

Princess Buttercup was very happy with mommy's choice of daycare.I've never used daycare or boarding before so I was a bit nervous about it. She was super cheerful and playful when I picked her up which was perfect in my book.If I'm ever in Pensacola again I will certainly use their services.

Took my dog here because our usual vet didn't have any openings and my dog has bad allergies and gets a shot for it every year around the beginning of summer and he was miserable all weekend so he needed to be seen on Monday. He got to the point he was making himself sick and wouldn't eat. He also needed his anal glands expressed because he's a small dog and has issues with that and that was adding to his pain which we told the vet. Not only did she not even check his anal glands- I guess she just didn't feel like doing it, she was so worried about telling us he is boarder-line over weight and telling us we needed to pay for a $300 dental treatment it's like she wasn't even paying attention to the immediate problem at hand. She also suggested a more expensive shot that he's never had for his itching after 5 years and it didn't help him at all. So here we are the next day, out $100+ and my poor pup is still miserable and crying with literally no change so it looks like we'll be going to our usual vet anyway and my dog has been in pain for 2 days longer which could have been avoided. I will say the vet technicians we worked with were very nice and loved on my dog the whole time, however that's the only good thing I can say.

This is a sad review to make because I really thought I'd found a perfect place to "care" for my pets. The true merit of any facility, of this nature, is not only shown in how they handle day to day routines, but especially when an emergency arises. This brings us to Sunday, January 19th at 8:30 am, the day I saw Animal Hospital's true nature. My sweet puppy Rocky had been suffering for several days with upper airway strider. By Sunday morning it was obvious that the obstruction was getting dangerously worst and that Rocky was having severe trouble breathing. He was struggling for air. His head was extended as if he was desperately trying to grab oxygen. He sounded like his airway was closing completely. I could hardly wait until 8am, when the hospital opened. I rushed in to the lobby of the hospital, carrying my baby in my arms. You could hear Rocky fighting for air. I started explaining the urgency of Rocky's condition but was quickly interrupted by one of the staff members. She informed me that they were booked up and they only had one veterinarian on duty. Neither she nor any of the other employees even approached Rocky to evaluated his condition even though it was impossible to ignore the loud noises coming from him trying to breath. No triage, no inquiries, no concern and worst of all, no options were volunteered. I had to ask, "then do you have any options of were to get help". I was told to take him to the Veterinary Emergency Referral Center. I thought I'd found the best place for care of my two puppies but last Sunday showed me the real Animal Hospital of Pensacola. The lack of concern for the emergency condition of my pet by his veterinarian is unexceptable. The fact that a facility that I trusted to care for the most important part of my life, my doggies, rejected us when we needed them most. We got more attention and customer service when we came in for our annual vaccination the month before than when I feared my dog was near death. Scary. Anybody know a dependable veterinarian?

I have had great experiences taking all my dogs here. They are open late hours on weekdays and even open on Sundays. Very rare. Dr. Baumeister is always gentle with my dogs and takes time to explain everything in detail. So glad I found this place.

I was in town on vacation when the pooch suddenly fell ill. The entire staff was so amazing to her and me. We received a quick diagnosis, and the pooch got a lot of love. So happy to find a place that cares, even when you are from out of town.

My cat had not been feeling well for a few days, and needed to go to a vet. My normal vet was going to be closed for the next 2 days, because it was a holiday weekend, so I went to this vet. The vet and technicians were very knowledgeable and were very nice, and took the time to explain everything in detail But...there prices were crazy! We were there for just over an hour and left with a $600 bill! (Just an example..they charged me $156 for insulin and $56 for needles, where my normal vet charges only $60 for the same exact insulin, and only $30 for the same exact needles)! I would use them again in case of an emergency, but not for a normal vet!
