I recently visited my local Dollar General and unfortunately had a disappointing experience that I feel compelled to share. Upon entering the store, I noticed that there was no one at the checkout counter. I waited patiently for over 10 minutes, hoping someone would come to assist me.
After waiting and seeing no sign of an employee, I decided to walk to the back of the store in search of help. When I finally found the manager, I was met with a rather rude and unprofessional attitude. She informed me that I would have to wait because there was a truck delivery happening. While I understand that deliveries can disrupt operations, her lack of courtesy and customer service skills was disappointing.
As a customer, I believe it's essential to feel valued and respected, and this experience fell short of those expectations. I hope that Dollar General can improve their staffing and customer service training to ensure that future visits are more pleasant.

I always go to this store never have I had any issues until today 7/15/2024 around 211pm is when I entered the store . A New associate( she said she was the manager but I have never seen her before. I was in the store for about five to 6 mins getting laundry detergent and fabric softener and few bags of chips . As she was ringing up my items she said the top was loose on the laundry detergent and asked me did I pour something else in the bottle because they normally aren’t that full. I guess she was the detergent expert idk. I told her no and she continued to go on and on and now I’m pissed so I asked for manager she said she was the manager . I told her to manage to look at the cameras because she accusing meOd doing something I didn’t do (stealing) I’m no thief and she’s going to feel real stupid once she see the cameras ..She said she wasn’t doing that and continued. So I did go off on her (not my character to go off but dont accused somebody of stealing) and she kicked me out the store after I went off on her. NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL.

Its 5:45 on Sunday, July 7th. A lady walked forward to put a sign up- "Closed for 30 minutes"? Is she the only employee in the store where you have to shut the entire store down for sales? May want to hire more associates then? 4 customers just walked away right when the sign got put up? Wonder how many more within 30 minutes?

My family and I visited Florida and left behind some essential things. And stopped here to grab some items. Being already stressed entering the store we were greated politely. The worker helped us to all our needed items. Great Quality Service and Clean and Organized Store. Keep up the good work!!!

MS.JASMINE THE ASST MGR. WAS REALLY HELPFUL THIS MORNING AND PATIENT AS SHE HELPED ME FIND THE ITEMS I NEEDED...VERY PROFESSIONAL AND FRIENDLY. THESE DOLLAR 'TYPE' STORES COULD SURE USE SOME PEOPLE LIKE MS. JASMINE.. SHE OUGHT TO BE TRAINER!!!!

I will return to this store the next time I feel the urge to be abused by angry ghetto people. The "assistant manager" was also the cashier and kept stepping to the unused register to run reports or something. Three people in line and she was very friendly ringing up th black lady but the white guy n front of me had to wait while she did her stuff on the other register. No acknowledgement or greeting to him or me. Then she rang him and went back to the Register. I'm holding a case of water all this time. She finally came over and started ringing me. I said that I didn't appreciate her making people wait while she did whatever she was doing. She literally threw the case of water on the floor and said "Get out! Get the (F@&$) out of my store." Pretty sure it's not YOUR Astor's but ok.... Horrible angry person with Zero customer service skills. Way to go Dollar General. It's too bad there's no other store for me to shop at..... O! wait! Plenty of other stores without unstable b-words working there. I suspect that her personality will get her fired pretty quickly. Hope so.....I'll see if I can help with that.... Maybe she just doesn't like white people.

dg cares little about the safety of store employees, but have a strict policy of customer interigation and identification if you want to buy a simple lighter.... i 66 years old. but not trusted enough by dg to buy a goddam lighter for my grill.i had to provide a drivers license and birthday to prove im old enough to purchase a fn lighter! its dg policy.my new policy is to inform people about dg's twisted priorities.if the employees are geting robbed and killed more than any other business, no dg policy to fix that.but if an adult wants to purchase a simple lighter to make fire like humans and done for millions of years, it dg policy to stop them.
