The Pensacola Lighthouse & Maritime Museum offers an amazing experience. Visitors can climb 177 steep steps to the top of the 1859 lighthouse tower for a beautiful and amazing view, though the climb can be physically demanding. The staff are informative, educational, and very helpful. The three-story maritime museum in the house is also fun to explore. The gift shop is well stocked. It is a great family outing, but guests should be prepared for the climb and note it is located on an active military base, requiring attention to security procedures.
