I was visiting pep boys today and Keith the gentleman working the counter and assisting customers was awesome. I assume his manager walked in and name is Mike and he just went off on Keith for no reason and was very uncomfortable on how Mike treated Keith. The actions, words and tone he took with Keith was very unprofessional and should not be tolerated by Pep Boys corporate. I advise pep boys corporate look into the actions of Mike and how he treats his team.

Might need more organization -
The reason for not giving a 'five star' rating is because the assistant manager told me to be there at a certain time - when I arrived, the same guy told me that I will have to wait an hour until his tech gets back from lunch.
Meanwhile - he leaves the shop.
Manager apologized for the problem.
The manager, Chase Ellis, and tech are very nice and professional.

I had a friend go to pepboys for an engine light. They said they could fix it so they went ahead and “did”. Two days later 10/25/24. We took it back because the engine was back on, at that point they said “something just let loose” and “it needs a new engine.” When my friend went to go pick it up, the person working on it was out for lunch after she told him she was coming to pick it up at 2pm and another worker said she should get another opinion from somewhere else. She also asked for the codes on the engine light and they said they didn’t have them but how would they know how to fix it if they didnt have the codes? We still currently dont know whats wrong with it but i hope this can help anyone else who may be having issues with this pepboys.

Pep Boys' mechanic grossly misdiagnosed the rattling problem with my car as a carrier support bearing with a $1,500+ price tag, which included replacing the whole drive shaft assembly. Sought a second opinion and mechanic as a favor R/O carrier support bearing with some simple diagnostic tests. Third mechanic replaced the dust boot for $500+ and noise abated. I am not sure if Pep Boys' mechanic was incompetent or worse yet, unethical.

I wouldn’t even try went here to get my tire looked at possibly because it seemed as though it might go flat soon the customer service was nonexistent and I think the heavyset man that worked the counter was on his menstrual that day. I got better customer service across the street at sonic. I will never return to this location or any others

Save your time and money
Update…. I went to a different place and bum and bummer left the whole headlight bulb hanging out. Mechanic didn’t even screw everything back into place and just left it a mess.
2 hours to change ONE headlight bulb and only one other car was in the bay…. This place, literally literally does not need appointments because they certainly do not understand what the word appointment means. Not a single thing was done on the car, except one lightbulb change, all because front desk man hates his job. Boss man PLEASE re-educate your employees on how to properly communicate lol. When I tried to ask the guy if he wanted me to come back later because it seemed like they were not getting to my car anytime soon…despite the appointment at three he got all sassy. The whole problem is that they didn’t seem to be able to COMPREHEND why it’s such a problem that one headlight was changed in two WHOLE hours. Three workers, two cars in the bay, (including mine) and two guys taking their two hour smoke break outside. I love that they had each other’s back though !! I guess teamwork really does pay the bills lmao

I scheduled online for a specific time. Arrived before my scheduled time and they kept insisting I should call instead of scheduling online, and it'll be at least 3 or 4 hours for th3 scheduled oil change. Told me 3 or 4 times I should have called instead of using their online scheduling option. Not sure how that's my fault as a customer? Canceled and went elsewhere to find on time service and decent customer service.

I have a Nissan van. The hood latch won't engage, the hood latch itself works. It needs to be adjusted. They want to charge $99.99 just to look at it. 100 bucks to 'diagnose' a hood latch.

My mechanic retired and we've been unable to find someone we trusted and felt comfortable with. Had a brake job done by a shop and brake squeak could wake our neighborhood. Never fixed it. Pep Boys on 9th Ave. was referred to us. I know our car was in dire need of some TLC. Chase had the guys run a very thorough inspection. We had them to do a full service (tune-up, brakes, flushes, etc ) on our Infiniti. It runs like it did new. Very good work, very fair price. I think we have found our new car repair home.
