I paid $400 for an hour of tax strategy from Alicia. I needed to figure out my options of a sale of a home. She recommended a 1031 exchange. That I can immediately 1031 exchange the sale of the home once its completed and sold. I knew that strategy does not work for my situation, but she convinced me to believe so. She even referred me to a company she deals with personally IPX1031. Then I spoke to IPX about my situation and they said the same exact thing that i figured. I cannot 1031 exchange new construction unless I rent the house first or atleast hold it for 1 year. Then I tried calling Alicia's office three times. Once per week. I gave her 1 month chance to call me back. She never bothered to call me back even knowing how urgent my situation is. To pay $400 an hour to receive incorrect information and not answer my phone calls afterwards is very unprofessional.

If you would like to get charged more than the original quote you were given by this accountant, because more paperwork is requested to complete your taxes, with them saying it was because they had to re-open your file after their request— without any explanation that that would cost more—use this accountant. Upon speaking up about this, I was charged the original quote. However, if you would enjoy using an accountant that tells you that your taxes cannot be filed, and you reach out to them numerous days without any response—when tax day is very rapidly approaching, use this accountant. If you also then ask where you’re supposed to file your taxes, and be informed that it’s not her job to suggest a local tax office, then use this accountant. wrongfully decide that you give this accountant the benefit of the doubt, because you later would like a simple tax question asked, and they tell you that you threatened their employees, which you did not, use this accountant, Alicia King. What I had personally said is that I was going to report Ms. King to their state board, and let my referral source know what happened. That is not threatening anyone except for this accountant. At least I know in the medical field, abandonment is malpractice. I have yet to find out what this is called under the accounting board. If you want to go through this type of stress during tax season, I really would think again. Also, now reading Ms. King’s lengthy responses to some other unfavorable reviews on the BBB website and Yelp, it is the same defensiveness I experienced when I now know I wrongfully reached back out to her, with her stating I, “Was not welcome at this office”—the same words I read from her on the BBB site.Update: The IRS contacted me, stating I owed money because my estimated taxes paid were too low, yet Ms. King had stated I had overpaid the previous years taxes. I would suggest not using the Pinellas Park or Lakeland office with this accountant.

I've been using Tax Perts for years and wouldn't change. I come from Sarasota to Pinellas Park. They're curteous, polite and knowing how to take care of your personal needs. They work for you and not just themselves. They have your interest at heart. They know the ins and outs of the tax laws. They work the computers effortlessly. I would recommend them highly.
