I just got charged for a snowglobe that was on a very bottom shelf inches off of the floor sticking out from a ledge, and it fell over as I walked by it and my PANTS brushed it... an obnoxious little brunette walked over as I picked it up myself and she said you have to pay for that without asking if me and / or my baby in the stroller if we were okay, and simply said "it's store policy" with a nasty little smirk. When I asked for a manager she said "they're not here til tomorrow." Enough said.

Bad customer service. Overpriced. Old stock damaged items, 7 days NO return policy. Refused a refund though the item I bought was damaged.

The sales person was not nice at all. No smile, very poor communication skills, not pleasant. If not a good thing inside the store, I would never buy anything from such sale person.

Professional scammers? I bought a few items and they rang up for more money than the tag stated. I pointed this out to the cashier and she got on her cell phone and seemed to pretend to call someone and ask about the items. She got off the phone and corrected the price. I went back in later with my family. I told my mother to be aware because of what happened previously. When she came to the register, the woman rang up the items. Wouldn’t you know it, there was an item rung up that she did not purchase. My mother pointed this out and the cashier claimed it was an accident because she was previously checking the price of something and forgot to take it off. Were these two incidents a coincidence? Did the cashier make two honest mistakes, upcharging us both times we went to the store? Are these people professional scammers? Not sure, but it was not a good experience.

Zero stars if I could’ve chosen that….They sell defective items and don’t notify you about it. They wont accept returns. I bought a cup “on sale” with tape holding down the lids (which all the cups had tape holding the lids down) for $10 and once I tried to use it I realized the lids fell immediately off since it was missing parts. The staff were extremely rude and stated I had to come back another day when the manager was around to see if she could help me. I was advised that the staff member who sold the item was supposed to disclose the information about the defective item and they couldn’t do anything to help. Dont shop here, huge scam!!!!

I recently visited Alvins Island near the Pompano Pier, hoping to find some beach essentials and souvenirs. While the store had a wide array of options, my overall experience was less than satisfactory.Pros:- Extensive selection of clothing, shoes, and swimming trunks, especially t-shirts.- A variety of Pompano Beach souvenirs for those interested in mementos.Cons:- Pricey: The prices were considerably high, with shirts costing around $30 each. However, the quality of the items did not justify the cost.- Cheaply made products: Many items in the store felt low-quality, and there were complaints from other customers about letters on shirts peeling off.- Limited snack and drink options: The store offered snacks, drinks, and some basic over-the-counter medications like Aleve and Tylenol. However, the selection was minimal, leaving much to be desired. The store's size is significant, which should have been an advantage. Unfortunately, the layout felt crowded and disorganized. The aisles were cramped with clothing, making it challenging to browse through the merchandise comfortably. To make matters worse, emergency exits were blocked, which raises safety concerns. The inventory is not solely limited to clothing; they also carry beach chairs, hats, bathing suits, bags, sunglasses, boogie boards, sand toys, souvenirs, and shoes. However, the variety within each category seemed limited, leaving customers with fewer choices than expected. In conclusion, Alvins Island by the Pompano Pier offers a vast selection of t-shirts and souvenirs but falls short in terms of quality, pricing, and variety. If you're looking for reasonably priced, well-made beach essentials, you might want to explore other options in the area. While the store has potential, it requires significant improvements in product quality, pricing, and overall organization to provide a more satisfying shopping experience.

Alvin’s Island is a trash place to shop. my kid had beach money and spent over an hour trying to find something she liked and that was affordable. Then there was literally only two people working and were RUDE and on their phones. Then not to mention the racism by your fellow Floridians. So if you don’t mind all these things Alvin’s Island is the place to be. Just kidding. You might as well just go to you local Walmart and shop for a souvineir.

Biggest waste of money, I purchased some shirts and all of the letters peeled off before being washed. I reached out to them via email and never heard anything back from them. Everything is cheaply made.
