I usually only have bad things to say about Banfield but Banfield Pompano in the Pet Smart is incredible!! The vet was honest about what medications and tests my cat actually needed and didn't want to give it just to make money! She gave great at home remedies, recommendations & patiently explained everything we needed to know to us. At other locations i've had awful experiences so I will be with the pompano banfield forever!

Another dog has died under the care of a Banfield employee 8/20/25. Aired on Channel 10 news. Banfield is a complete rip-off. Don't waste your time or money. Banfield is a scam. Banfield said they offered dental services. Which was the only reason I got the wellness plan. When I took my dogs in to get the dental work done. I got a call from the doctor saying my dog was overweight and would die if she got put under anesthesia. Meanwhile every time I took my dogs to Banfield, they weighed my dogs. Even when I got the plan, they weighed my dog. So Banfield should have told me then before I signed the contract, my dog was overweight and they wouldn't be able to clean my dogs teeth. Cause I wouldn't have gotten the plan. Banfield sold me their wellness plan. Told me I could cancel at anytime. When I went to cancel, cause the contract says I can cancel at anytime, plus I felt as though I didn't need the plan cause Banfield, can't give me the service they offer and the dental cleaning I wanted for my dogs, I felt that I didn't need the plan. Banfield is now trying to get me to pay over $800, the rest of the plan. Banfield is a scam at the worse. Then they make up all these supposed charges saying they did blood work, this exam or that exam. All I can say is, If you love your pets, DON'T BRING THEM TO BANFIELD. My neighbor went to Banfield to get their dogs fixed. Banfield said both their dogs had some liver disease and if Banfield did the surgery to get their dogs fixed. Their dogs would die under anesthesia. Then Banfield tried to sell them something else, for them to spend more money. Banfield needs to be shut down. They play on the love a person has for their pets, while ripping you off. They take your animals in a back room, how would a person know what exam they actually did. Yet when you want to cancel, they come up with all kinds of exams they supposedly did. Stay away from Banfield. They're scamming theives.

CORAL SPRINGS OFFICE. Very inexperienced medical evaluation. They have 2 female veterinary doctors that have no idea how to treat common parasite infections. I took my cat there and spent 3 hours due to vomiting and bloody stools. They couldn’t draw any blood. They did a rectal swab and saw it in a microscope. They did not see any parasites. Most common is coccidia which is NOT easily seen in the microscope. I asked for empirical treatment. Both refused! They said they needed blood work! I said Dr you will NOT find coccidia or Giardiasis or hookworms in the blood!! Oooohhhh but they will charge you 400 dollars for the blood! They acted all offended for me asking for the anti parasite medication. They asked me to leave. My cat was never treated. I was able to find Metronidazole liquid from another source. Treated him for 5 days and diarrhea and bloody stool was gone! That office is a joke! They will not treat your Pet. They will treat the labs! Those 2 female doctors don’t use their brains. Anyhow they charge for the visit and the anal swab which was worthless. Don’t go there. You will waste your time and money and they will refuse to treat!

Wouldnt suggest this place to my worst enemy , the doctor has no idea what shes talking about, was robbed out of my xray views. Was promised multiple times 4 different x ray views but only got 1 view.. left my dog with them for over 2 hours and only got 1 xray view??…. Doctor will “sale suggest” you places on a *67 number at 9:30 at night. Dont fall for it.

Horrible! I've been paying a suscription with them for almost a year, and today my dog ate 1 chocolate I took him there because is the only place I know and they didn't even take a look at him! Just told me that they didn't have time and send me somewhere else.

I have had animals my entire life and I can confidently say Banfield Pompano is the absolute worst vet I have ever taken any of my animals to. It took them three attempts to spay my 5lb kitten. It was so delayed that she went into heat. On the third try when they finally succeeded, they made me sit with her until she was asleep on anesthesia. It even left me traumatized. My final straw was when I took her in for an urgent matter and they gave me absolutely no answers. The staff was so incompetent and negligent that I had to take my cat to the ER a few days later because her symptoms got worse even though Banfield said she was in the clear. During my last visit the nurse proposed to me $500+ worth of tests before even taking my cat out of her carrier. By the way, for those who dont know, they make commission off of everything and dont truly care about your pet. I suggest everyone to go find a private vet who will treat your pet with care because you wont find it here.
And dont try to talk to the staff about their incompetence either, theyll make you wait a week to let you speak to the pathetic practice manager who will then gaslight you.
UPDATE: I have been trying to contact the banfieldcares email and nobody has gotten back to me and its been a week. The Pet Wellness plan is a SCAM!! Melissa, the practice manager is awfully rude and unprofessional. She needs a new job.

I took my dog for an ear infection in which they misdiagnosed him and told me there was no infection despite the text book symptoms. I was charged $200 in tests just to be sent home. A week later my dog persists with the same symptoms if not worse and when i returned for a follow up for their misdiagnosis they wanted to charge me an additional $200 for the same tests they did last time which led to a misdiagnosis/lack of one. They told me regardless of if they did an ear swab or not they’d still prescribe the same medication no matter the yeast/bacteria freating the issue. They did not do their job right and the customer who already pays insurance has to pay more on top of it. Completely baffling. Money hungry when the priority should be the health of our pets.

Last week I took my dog because he had a wound on his ear, the doctor examined him and told me it was an allergy and gave him an injection and performed other tests, she told me it was nothing and prescribed me a shampoo for his paws, in total they charged me $230 dollars, after 2 days my dog continued scratching his ear and was already in pain and his ear was drooping, they told me it was an infection and they charged me
again $106 for the same tests, which I find incredible!! I mean you diagnose wrong and you don't take responsibility??? I paid $40 dollars for the plan with them, I really think it is a lack of professionalism and seriousness, be careful, they want to try to charge for things that are not true

If I can give a 0 I would. Buyer Beware....Do not purchase the monthly plan if you have financial issues. If you cant pay they will put it in their collections and if you pay it prior to your year....you lose your time that left on your plan and have to purchase a new plan. It would be better to just pay as you go and their prices are higher than other vets.
