We’ve had a very bad experience when we visited my brother in law with bugs infestation as they have lived there for about a year now. They have done the treatment the first time but it wasn’t treated properly. He has reached out to the office several times to get it cleaned and treated but the bugs are everywhere, ruining personal belongings. They have been crawling in our luggage and thank God we made sure we cleaned it before getting home. We understand that these things can happen but the leasing office and managers lack of attentiveness has made this difficult.
As my brother has an autoimmune disease that could be impacted by these bugs that are known for high bacteria. We write the to inform future residents as we would have wanted to know.

I am not very confrontational and usually never leave reviews, but I want to warn anyone trying to come live here. We have had packages stolen, someone try to break into our apartment in the middle of the night, and have had friend's cars broken into while living here.
The worst part is our apartment is infested with German Cockroaches. They are all inside the appliances, inside the trim, and behind the walls. We have thrown out thousands of dollars worth of our own kitchen appliances, furniture, and personal belongings that have become infested with these bugs. I was recently diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and living with these highly bacterial bugs is very dangerous, but no urgency has been taken from Cottonwood to rid this problem. It has been over a month since I have told the leasing office about this, and the bugs are still there. They had a pest control company come out after three weeks of me requesting, but the bugs are still there since they live behind the walls.
Dawn, Millie, and Jaylene are very nice in the leasing office, but the supervisors are not cooperative.

I rarely ever leave reviews, but my experience at this apartment complex has been so appalling that it deserves to be shared as a warning to anyone considering moving here.
Shortly after moving in, my unit became infested with German cockroaches—a known, serious issue that the management team clearly failed to disclose or properly address. The infestation destroyed over $1,500 worth of my electronics, and despite multiple complaints, the leasing office refused to take responsibility or offer any compensation for the damages or the unlivable conditions we endured.
For weeks, we were forced to pay full rent while living in a roach-infested apartment, trying to live out of storage boxes and clean for countless hours each week. Even after repeated “treatments,” it was clear the problem was never properly handled. The lack of urgency, transparency, and care from management was unacceptable and deeply unprofessional.
Unfortunately, the issues don’t stop there. Packages have been stolen directly from my doorstep. The front gate has been broken and left open for over a month, leaving the property completely unsecured. Cars have been broken into, and at one point, someone even attempted to break into my apartment in the middle of the night. Management has done nothing to increase security or protect residents.
Between the infestation, property crime, and total lack of accountability from the leasing office, this complex is a complete disgrace. For the amount they charge, the conditions are beyond unacceptable. I would strongly advise anyone considering this place to look elsewhere—no one deserves to pay premium rent for third-world living conditions

I have been a resident at Cottonwood Lighthouse Point for 8 years and I have to congratulate the entire staff for the great work they have done to make our community better. I especially want to commend their employee, Lazaro!! Lazaro is an employee who is very passionate about his work and always makes sure that as a resident that all is in working order!!!! He always has a smile, he does his work with pride and follows through with his word!!! Cottonwood should be proud to have him. It is the first time that this community has a management like Milly is a great leader, Dawn is always willing to listen and has a good sense of community and Jailene as the first face representing the office has been the best with her great administrative skills. Last but not least, I have to mention the cleaning technician. Our building (4) has never looked so good. She is awesome as well. It feels so good to come home to a great looking community, clean building and that your home is in great working condition!!! Thank you to all!!! Regards from Mr. & Mrs. Santana.

Do not rent here. This is the worst apartment building I have ever been in. they charge you for anything and everything that they tell you don’t worry about. They lie and have the worst management. As far as the people that live there, they are very rude as well. The usual suspects are over taking the community . It’s very dirty and disgusting. You gotta be worried about your safety every time you walk out your door. And they also make people write nice comments on here because when I was living there, they asked everybody to write nice comments. So any good comment you see are people that are currently living there that are told to write the comment for them. They try to cover up all the bad reviews. Do what you wanna do but listen when I tell you, these people don’t care about you. read all the comments and see how often they notice the management that is not done by their own that is done by management. They are told by management to do it.

Cotton Light House Point is a vehicle destroyer!
If you wash your car, the very next day it gets dirty again because they water the plants and splash mud everywhere. They have cats that jump on cars constantly, which is really frustrating. The gardeners also dirty the cars while trimming the plants, and the trees drop debris all over your vehicle. Plus, the rain and sun just add to the damage and dirt.
On top of that, there are no assigned parking spots. You always have to park in different places, which is very inconvenient. Sometimes motorcycles take up parking spots, making it even harder to find a space. There’s definitely enough room to have a separate parking area just for motorcycles, but nothing has been done about it.
The reception staff are very kind, and I have nothing against them personally. However, based on my experience, I have felt very uncomfortable living here.
it feels like a constant battle to keep your car clean and find parking. If these things don’t bother you, then maybe this place is for you. The neighborhood is quiet and the people are friendly, but honestly, the damage to vehicles and lack of parking are huge downsides.

Jaline, Millie, and Don are angels! They made my move in process so smooth and were there to help me every step of the way. This was the easiest move I have ever made in my life. The community is safe, beautiful and homey. Everyone I have come across has been so nice and I couldn’t ask for more! This could absolutely become a forever home.

No stars! Cottonwood at Lighthouse Point- They want to charge me over $800.00 for carpets that are like brand new upon my move out. Meanwhile I had live roaches in my frig the day I moved in and that was ten min after they said they cleaned it. The maintenance guy got there and sprayed a can of raid in the frig and said ok you're good to go!!!!!!!!!! I made them remove the frig and get a different one. I will be reporting this to the corporate office- I have pics and videos of the roaches.
The community is gross- had a girl that lived in my bldg. on house arrest with a Pitbull- restricted breeds all over there. People that don't live in community go there on the weekend and use pool- teens that don't live there try to get into the gym. Duck crap all over you can't even walk without stepping in it. Garbage all over outside the dumpster because they don't pick up trash outside apt's on Fridays and Saturdays, but we pay for trash removal for the whole month.
The front gate works half the time- also the gate into the park is broken so always have riff raff walking thru-
Cars have been broken into.
Elevators are gross and etched with graffiti- they are always dirty and smell like dog pee and crap.
Hallways are gross- roaches and lights out all of the time.
The mailbox room always has trash filled to the rim- even found a used condom by mailroom.
They have 12 guest spots for a huge community- my kids couldn't even come to visit- the residents take those spots as well because the parking is terrible. So, forget company coming over.
Go next door to Bell Towers, much nicer property.

Moving here from out of state was a big step for me, but working with Don made the transition so much easier. She’s incredibly responsive and made sure every detail was taken care of before I even arrived. From the first conversation, it was clear she really knows her stuff. Don was always available to answer my questions and even helped me navigate the local area, which was a huge help. It’s clear she takes pride in her work and genuinely cares about her tenants. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

WORST APARTMENT COMPLEX EVER! When i first moved there was a different property manager and the new managers are incompetent they advise one thing then lie and say another. THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR RESIDENTS THE PEOPLE GIVING THEM MONEY. Milly and Don the two managers at the front have absolutely no respect and they tag team residents instead of resolving issues. They tried to rob me by adding on extra fees after they made a mistake and they don’t take accountability. The new units to tour have roaches in the fridges and at the doors. MAINTENANCE IS THE WORST you will have to fix everything yourself. Don’t move here if I could give negative stars i would. Youre better off living under a bridge than here.
