Working in the classic car restauration business for quite some time now, I´ve definately seen my share of repro and aftermarket parts. Some are of bad quality and some are even worse.Naturally I was not expecting too much, when one of our customers came in with his ´79 Coupe de Ville, telling me that he had bought some Body Fillers for the rear and wanted to get them mounted. While disassembling the old fillers, I discovered the PPI catalogue in the trunk and took a look at it.After reading "proud to be the # 1 plastic automotive replacements parts Company in the world" and "pre-drilled holes, ready for painting" as well as "100% Satisfaction Guarantee" my hopes where up high. Or at least a little higher than before.I was in for the surprise of my life. The short version isHow am I going to explain to the owner of the Vehicle, that it took 2 days to fit the fillers and get them ready for painting !?!?!?!?!?The more detailed version isPre-drilled holes really make work a lot easier, if they would be positioned correctly. Why is a part that is ment to be wedged in between 2 pieces of steel more than twice as thick as the original part?!?Some cuttings on the parts would´ve been more accurate if they would´ve used a chainsaw. Not a single one of the parts came even somewhat close to fitting.Ready for paint, my a....Sure you could get them painted rightaway, just don´t expect them to fit.Who made you the #1 in the world???I´m really not a friend of writing such recessions, but you folks had me fuming in anger for 2 days.I take pride in my work, seems like PPI couldn´t care less about their work.
