I never like to make bad reviews, but this one was a surprising one. After more than a year and half having my magazine printed at Printers Printer in Pompano Beach on a quarterly basis, I was surprisingly disappointed by how they took advantage of my trust in them. I made the huge mistake of trusting them, paying Pamela Lain, the corporate controller, when she asked me for the full amount of the invoice in advance to buy the type of paper I always used for my publication. I paid them in advance via Zelle, went there in person for the color proofs as I have always been, and a few days later my order was delivered. The minute I picked up one of the magazines I instantly noticed they were much lighter and the covers were sagging from one side to the other. I was busted. They basically took my money and PRINTED IN WHATEVER QUALITY PAPER THEY HAD WITHOUT ONE SINGLE NOTICE. I have the emails of the owner, Lou Yovino, confirming that they decided to go with lower weight paper for the 64 pages of the inside and lower weight front and back covers this time. He assumed i was not going to notice, and incredible as it appears he even send me a an email days after asking: "name me one of your advertiser that noticed"..... although many readers and people did noticed the difference, of course many others won't, well at the end that is not the point. The point is , you took 100% of the money taking advantage of my good faith through a lie, and just run away with it. The worst was, that although they admitted doing so via email, nobody took 2 minutes to pick up the phone and give me a call, to explain, to talk, to have a conversation about what was happening. I was a loyal customer that always paid as it has to be, and was always happy to work with them. I was surprised that not even Gary Rubin, the person I have been dealing with since day one called me , tried to schedule a meeting, and the owner said he was on vacation. A never ending holiday. Not an apology, nothing. It is sad to say that this is how many people work, they just do it for the short run, and they do not consider small business or entrepreneurs, how something like this may impact. I learned a lot through this experience, but it was hard one. The feeling of "I do not care about your business, so I just do whatever I want hoping you won't notice". This is not the way I work, this is totally unethical and in the end, if the paper was not available, which can happen due to COVID shortage, a call, a notification, an arrangement would have done the thing. It should have been my decision as publisher if I wanted to go with lower quality paper at the same price as the good one. Hope this review helps you and open your eyes.
