Not a bad place if you can get seen. Even with an appointment. My wait times have been creeping up on an hour. My last visit over an hour. They also charge a 3% fee if you pay with credit card. Since I left after waiting over an hour. They did call and offer another appointment not withstanding a repeat commute time of an hour. Too much time to fit me in for a medical issue they needed to follow up on.

My surgeon, Doctor Danzig did an amazing job helping me with my retinal detachment back in 2019. He reversed my vision in both of my eyes.I now visit him yearly and without a doubt I’m willing to drive 53 miles just to see him. I refuse to visit another doctor because he is truly the best in his field. Both him and his surgical team were phenomenal. He is professional, skilled, patient, and takes the time to know his patients. Doctor Danzig took the time to explain to both myself and even my family his surgical plan, and made sure that I was healing properly.I didn’t feel like I was just another patient, or rushed; but instead I felt like I was in great hands and that my treatment wascarefully planned.I highly recommend Doctor Danzig, and I am forever grateful both him and his staff.

Dr Danzig is awesome. I called with a scare that occurred in my left eye. A cob web like image occurred out of the blue. .It turned out to be fairly common and not very serious. I’m scheduled to return in four weeks for a follow up in case there are any new developments. Dr Danzig assured me that that probability was rare at best. I appreciate the care I received and would highly recommend him to anyone in need of Retinal care.

Scheduled an appointment for my mother to get an exam for new glasses. Apparently I needed to specifically say “refractory” appointment because they scheduled her for a yearly exam that does NOT include looking at the prescription for new glasses. I didn’t realize I needed a medical terminology course instead of saying FOR NEW GLASSES. We were there 2.5 hours! Yes, 2.5 HOURS and would have needed to come back for another appointment in order to have a REFRACTORY. Nope. Lost 2 patients today. I realize they don’t care about loss of patients - but neither of us will return.

My goodness, do not go to these people unless you want to spend the whole day twiddling your thumbs. It shouldn't take 3 hours to see the doctor when you have an established appointment.I got to the appointment on time, was taken (surprisingly) relatively quickly for the preliminary eye exams, then placed in an exam room, where I waited, and waited and waited until I gave up. I think they are doing experiments to see how long patients will wait for them before they give up and walk out. This is on me...I knew they were not prone to taking patients on time--I had been there several times accompanying another patient--but I still made an appointment.I am sure they are very thorough and competent, but having to plan your whole day to be in this doctor's office is unconscionable for a routine examination. A through routine examination, including waiting time for dilation, should take no more than 1.5 hours. If they cannot schedule properly, I shouldn't have to suffer for it.

Do they know their stuff, YES... they do a great job once you are seen. It is the waiting part that is beyond belief. When I made the appointment for my mother over the phone, I was told, "Expect to be here for 3 hours". I accepted that at the time, but what I did not expect was that those three hours that were quoted was only the wait time in the waiting room. You guessed it, this is the place that coined the phrase, "Waiting Room"! We waited for 3 hours JUST to be seen by the first of 4 employees. They never offered any type of food and the drinks were limited to hot coffee and hot tea. I could not leave the building to get food for fear that I would lose our space. Restaurants are no where near this office either. We had a 10:00 AM appointment on a Monday and did not leave until 5:00 PM once all of the exams were completed. I was in shock that a simple eye exam could take so long.

I've read the reviews and noted most complained about the wait.I was referred to Rand by my doctor. I called 5 times, and each time I was on hold for 15 min. Each time the call was ended because no one could take my call?Obviously they are in demand but I feel if I can't even get someone to answer my call, then what would it be like to actually get in.Needless to say, I will be phoning other doctors.

Although the Doctors are very nice, it is very evident that they do not care or respect people’s time. I have been sitting here with my mom 3 hours for a follow up appointment. That is truly ridiculous. The last visit was about 2.5 hours waiting. They overbook on a daily basis. I recommend you go elsewhere or you will have to wait over 3 hours even with an appointment!

Dont come here if you want to wait 2 hours in a waiting room to be seen no matter what time your appointment is. Stay away if you dont have patience , place is a joke! you ask the front desk girl how long of a wait and she tells you she dont know. They have no understanding or care about anyone else here its all on their time like were on island time or something . Place is sickening to make ELDERLY people wait this long in an office to be seen.

This place is a FACTORYwith absolutely nooooo regard for anyone's time. ? EVERY time I come I wait for HOURS! This is the last time they'll see me. I scheduled my appt for 1pm ("supposedly" 1st appt. after lunch) & I'm told after waiting for hours... again... the Dr's are still seeing patients from this morning. Last year I was told by Dr. RAND, "We're behind b/c a Dr. is on maternity." This time, one year later, I'm told by the receptionist we're "short-staffed." This is sooooo wrong on soooo many levels. ? Can someone just be honest and tell every patient, "Plan on spending a HALF DAY every single time you come here."

Doctors may be good but the wait is horrible. Expect to spend up to 3 hours for your appointment. SomeOf the people that work there are nice but most seemed stressed. More of a factory feeling than a caring environment. I would not recommend this Institute to anyone.

If you want to wait hours and hours every single appointment, then go here. Time to find a new place for my family member. If it was a once in a while thing, it would be understandable. However, we have never waited less than 2 hours to be seen and that is being nice. Awful! Everyone in the waiting room is always upset.

I don't usually write reviews. I'm guilty of leaving it for the other guy. But after my experience at Rand Eye Institute on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, I would be guilty of letting an opportunity go by to say thank you to an amazing team of individuals. I had four hours of testing in front of me that began at 9 am. And it began at 9 am. From start to finish, the four hours actually went by very quickly, and, for the most part, painlessly. Dr. Danzig and his team are, in my humble opinion, absolutely amazing! What could have been a tedious process was actually completed on time and, because of the wonderful staff, made enjoyable. The time went by quickly and, one important part I must mention, every test, every piece of paperwork, every bit of information gathered was thoroughly explained not only once, but several times. I thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being an amazing group of people and I thank God for bringing me to Rand Eye Institute and Dr. Carl Danzig!

Dr. Carl Danzig, Dr. Rand and the staff at The Rand Eye Institute are an amazing team of medical professionals. My personal case involved 2 severe retina detachments and without their dedication, care, surgical skill and specialized knowledge my eyesight would not have been restored. I am back to 20/30 and attest to their personal care and expertise. I wholeheartedly recommend their medical practice and wish you the best should you need their competence.

Dr. Rand I feel is a good eye doctor but every time I come to see Dr. Rand they make patients wait a “long” time and I have been here for over one hour before I was even called to just see a nurse to scan my eyes. Also, I heard a older man go up the the receptionist to complain that he has been waiting 55 minutes and he told the receptionist that he thought it was rude to make patients wait so long! They just over book patients every time!!If I made Dr. Rand wait in my office receptionist area for even 30 minutes he would leave for sure but I just do not do this to any of my clients, it’s just common sense to be respectful of a clients / patients time, plus an appointment time is made for a reason and people need to be able to schedule their day!Just “Respect a Patient’s Time” as you would expect the same…Just my thoughts…
