It takes a lot to get me upset, as I have a ton of patience. There are SO many MAJOR failures with this particular Port Canaveral, FL Budget rental location. There was no effective system. Missing a system like, this line to drop off, this line to pick up. No one seems to care, and they didn't seem to have any urgency to help customers - who were in line for hours. Cars were parked all over the place, parked even on the major road. People sitting all over the place, like a disaster zone. Many people walking to the pier, because no shuttles. Even if there were shuttles, there was no way for them to get to the location to pick people up. People wrapped around the building numerous times, in many directions. Hundreds of people everywhere. We had to climb out the back of the van to get out. After walking to the ship with all our bags, we found a driver that picked us up and gave us a ride. (There was many people walking all over with their luggage, trying to not miss the ship). By far the worst customer experience I ever had! It's amazing how many other people post the same experience, and corporate has not addressed this. It's very telling of the corporate care they take on their customers. PLEASE trust many of us, do NOT use this particular location; and I would even say avoid Budget rental car for poor leadership to fix a MAJOR problem.

Everything went very smoothly, and the car return was quick. It took us no more than 5 minutes, and the shuttle was ready straight away. After a horrible experience at Orlando Airport where a staff member called Tony lied into our faces by adding additional costs (additional driver, tolls, and full tank of gas) to our contract, Martha was brilliant removing them all at Port Canaveral! She was great, honest, and aware of the scam that keeps happening at the Orlando Airport office. Thanks, Martha, for your help and honesty!

If I could give zero stars, I would - It was the WORST customer service experience I have ever dealt with - Then to make things worse, I was promised a call by the Manager and never received one. * Horrific customer service - Nicole demeaned me, cursed at me, told me that I was "stupid" and tried to delay the process every chance she could get - I literally found her out smoking in the back, instead of helping out a line full of customers.* My first car that they tried to give me had the check engine light on - Apparently this was my fault!* The second car that they tried to give me had a "low battery" on the key fob - Apparently this was my fault as well - I guess they don't service the cars upon check-in / check-out!

They were too busy to answer the phone (I had a question about when the shuttle would arrive since we moved our reservation up 3 hours and were the first budget customers off our ship), and were down a shuttle driver on a busy port day, but we were pleased with how quickly they moved folks through the line, and we loved our car, even though we had to move up a size class (for free) since they had just given out the last in the class we purchased. We were happy we did express walk off of our ship early in the morning though- it did seem like the location was likely to be overwhelmed in the late morning as more passengers disembark.Be sure you've booked for "Port Canaveral" and not "Cape Canaveral" - this seemed to be an issue for a large number of folks in line, and while the staff was "willing to honor the quoted rate", those folks did have to pay an extra charge, that's already quoted on your bill if you book for Port Canaveral.

The wait for the shuttle was ridiculous. I was in line for 35 minutes before the van showed up and it was one small van when there were fifty people in line. That's ridiculous. One shuttle driver for the entire port and all cruise lines does not work. The driver was doing the best he could. But no other rental agency had these issues. None. Then there were only two people working the counter while dozens of people needed to pick up their reserved vehicles or return them. The staffing is grossly inadequate. The employees are doing a fine job; there just aren't enough of them. It took two hours from getting in the shuttle line to having my car. My family with young kids had to sit on the curb with all the luggage that whole time. I know people behind me waited much longer. I will loudly advise anyone to stay away from Budget at Port Canaveral.

A car is a car is a car. However, be ready to deal with a lazy and confrontational girl at the desk. she prides herself on trying to look intimidating and inconveniencing you any way possible. I presume this is the reason they have an overall 2 star rating.

This was the worst rental car I’ve ever rented. There was damage everywhere and it would randomly die while driving it. I asked budget to change it out with a similar vehicle and they advised it would be too hard.I would not recommend Budget as they do not have well maintained vehicles.

Although we purchased a midsize rental I was very pleased with this Nissan Altima with every option you could imagine it was a little tough and the Melbourne Florida airport but once we got aboard the ship everything else just disappeared.Very affordable and a pleasure

You’re better off choosing Avis. We waited 45 minutes at the cruise port for a shuttle to pick us up. Avis came and left three times while we waited for one budget shuttle. Once it finally got there, there wasn’t room for everyone to get on. I have no idea how long those others waited. We waited another hour to get a car. Renting a car should not be a two hour ordeal.

Good price, but they try very hard to get you to sign up for things you don't need. Even after declining services, they show up on your bill and you have to waste time and energy getting those charges removed.

Only reason I give it 3 is because of the helpful lady at the rental counter at Orlando airport that resolved all of my issues after we had turned the car in. The car had many dents, dings and scratches and was half full of fuel…no problem (took a picture of the fuel gauge)…I turned it in with 3/4 tank. From time I rented the car (waited in line 30+ min.) at 9:36 to the time I actually got the keys was almost 30 minutes. We turned the car in (after waiting for the turn-in attendant) at 9:46, and was charged $78 extra, plus a fuel charge of $40+…the total bill, instead of $114…was $233! I then went to the Budget counter at Orlando. The nice lady at the counter got it reduced to $117. Great customer service on her part…not so great at Port Canaveral rental office.

Had an awful experience here. When we arrived back from our cruise, we waited over an hour to pick up our rental car because the lady working the counter, who I believe was the manager, was slow as molasses. We finally got our rental, loaded up our bags, and the tire was deflated. We flagged down a very knowledgeable detailer who reinflated the tire and assured us we’d be fine. She apologized because the crew the night before hadn’t done their closing duties, so things like inflating tires hadn’t happened. Great. We get on our way. Not even 20 miles down the road, the tire goes flat again. Fine, things happen. We call the roadside assistance number through Budget. They have us search for a spare tire—the car didn’t come with one. They tell us to look for a patch kit—it’s SUPPOSED to have one, but it was missing from our vehicle. Fantastic. They tell us they’ll get a tow truck sent out to us and tell us to call the Florida highway patrol to get us off the side of the highway and to a safer location. That would be great, except when we called the highway patrol explained they don’t do that. We called budget back and they told us to just stay in the car. It was 90° outside and a huge storm was blowing in.After an hour of waiting with no updates to the service ticket and no real answers calling Budget corporate, we called the Canaveral store we’d picked the rental up from. The manager we spoke to on the phone insisted we couldn’t just Uber back and get a different car, that we HAD TO wait for the tow truck. She then gave us a “super special number she doesn’t give to just anyone”—which was the budget customer service number available on google. Wow. So helpful. Great customer service. We finally get a tow company assigned to us on the service report. Except budget, with their exceptional customer service, put us down as on the side of the road of a completely different highway than the one we were on. We tried to call the company. Rings and rings and rings with no answer. We call budget, they assure us they noted it on their end and would update the truck company and to sit tight. We then proceeded to sit for over two more hours waiting for a tow truck to show up. We called budget corporate no fewer than 6 times because our location never updated on the report. 45 minutes after the tow truck was supposed to arrive, we AGAIN call budget, only to learn they couldn’t get ahold of the towing company either, so we’d been sitting for hours for nothing at this point. They cancel the service to request a new tow truck, so we’re back at square one after three hours of waiting. We call Canaveral back, begging them to do ANYTHING. Luckily we got another employee, Andrew, on the phone, who finally actually helped us. He talked to the owner of the store for us and was able to allow us to Uber back to the Canaveral counter and pick up a different car. Of course at this point we’re loading all our luggage into an Uber in a torrential downpour and we could have been offered this solution over three hours ago, but at least someone at budget finally tried to help us.We Uber back to budget and Andrew was AWESOME. He upgraded our rental and gave us a free tank of gas. We’d give Andrew 5 stars. It’s incredibly frustrating that we were given a damaged car in the first place. It’s even more frustrating that the manager insisted she couldn’t do anything to help us, gave us a generic number to call and acted like she was really doing a favor, and was unwilling to call the owner to allow us to just come pick up a different car, which was ultimately the solution over three hours later.Because of this experience, we lost out on hundreds of dollars in Disney park tickets. Some of our items were damaged in the torrential downpour as we tried to transfer them into another car on the side of the highway. We had to also pay for an Uber and pay for laundry services to dry out our soaked belongings. If we cruise again, I don’t think we’ll rent from budget.Andrew should be running the place. He’s the only one who helped us.

Poor service, really mean rude lady was very snuddy and made some nasty remarks... also wouldn't answer a simple question for me... I stayed super nice despite her responses... hopefully she cheers up.

We received excellent and very professional service. We received a detailed explanation of all insurances. The shuttle service from the port to the agency arrived very quickly and we also received an excellent car.

Easy shuttle system. Easy pickup. And love picking up the car and leaving. Would love if we can check in online and leave, but I didn’t see that option. Also when I called for shuttle there wasn’t a way to connect properly. It would redirect somewhere else. And that was annoying. By the time the shuttle came (25MIN) I was on hold to connect. So I wouldn’t mind paying extra money to make sure shuttle is fast , and more room ahead where I can schedule for entire family. Because so many guest were already there for the shuttle I ended up going myself alone and then picking up my family where the shuttle came. Would be nice to alert ahead in the system to know how many people are coming and what time so it can work out efficiently. I wouldn’t mind informing ahead , and being extra prepared. If you can call ahead and schedule with that ahead that would be great:
