They accept cash as Tender when you purchase an item but when you return it, they want to put it back on a credit card.
I purchased a pair of sunglasses in the store yesterday and paid $100 cash and the remaining amount on a credit card. I decided they were too large for my face and went back immediately today to return them and was told I had to put the entire amount on my credit card and could not get the hundred dollars in cash back.
This was the only item on my credit card so now I will have to wait to be credited back the hundred dollar overpayment from my credit card company. I asked to speak to a store manager as the refund should have been given as it was originally tendered and I was told that is their store policy and I don’t have any option for getting my cash back. This is bad business and I am not surprise that Dillard’s is doing so poorly. I was also told that the credit back to my card was canceled, but then told that it was not canceled so it remains to be seen if I will actually get my money back or not. I sincerely hope Dillards goes out of business soon as I will not be shopping there any longer. The store associate was courteous and kind. The department manager was condescending and rude.

During our recent visit to Dillard’s, we had an exceptional shopping experience. The store was well-organized, making it easy to find what we were looking for. The staff was friendly and attentive, greeting us with warm smiles and offering assistance without being intrusive.
One standout moment was when we needed help finding a specific size for a pair of jeans. The associate not only located the size but also suggested complementary items that matched perfectly. This personalized service made our shopping much more enjoyable.
The fitting rooms were clean and spacious, providing a comfortable environment to try on clothes. Additionally, the selection of products was impressive, ranging from high-quality clothing and accessories to home goods.
Overall, our visit to Dillard’s was pleasant and productive. The excellent customer service and wide variety of products made it a memorable experience. We look forward to shopping there again in the future.

I haven't been in a Dillards in over 20 years but when I went to the one in Port Charlotte at Town Center Mall, I had the best experience working with a woman in the men's section that helped me with a summer linen suit. I think her name is Sonja. My wife needed some clothes and we went back a second time and got help from Evelyn in the women's section. I thought customer service was dead, but not at this store.

I had a very disappointing experience at the Dillard's perfume section recently that left me feeling both uncomfortable and unwelcome. An employee, a tall blonde woman, followed me closely around the area as I browsed the perfumes. Her behavior was extremely intrusive; she stood right behind me while I was trying to smell different scents, which made it very difficult to enjoy my shopping experience. What made this situation even more frustrating was the fact that she did not exhibit the same behavior towards my white girlfriend, who was shopping with me at the time. It was clear that she was giving my girlfriend space to browse freely, while I was being singled out and watched closely. As a black customer, this felt like a clear case of racial profiling, which is both offensive and unacceptable. I tried to ignore her and continue shopping, but her constant presence made it impossible to relax and enjoy myself. Shopping for perfume is supposed to be a pleasant and personal experience, but this employee’s actions turned it into a stressful ordeal. To make matters worse, after this incident, I checked online and found that I am not the only one who has had a negative experience with this particular employee. Numerous reviews mention similar behavior, where she follows customers around and makes them feel uncomfortable. This recurring issue indicates a serious problem that Dillard's management needs to address immediately. I hope Dillard's management takes this complaint seriously and investigates this employee's conduct. It is essential to provide better training and supervision to ensure that all customers are treated with respect and dignity, regardless of their race. No one should have to experience this kind of discrimination while simply trying to shop. I left the store feeling deeply dissatisfied and disheartened by the treatment I received. I urge Dillard's to take prompt action to rectify this situation and create a more welcoming environment for all customers.

The dillards it’s self was okay and the man in the suits section was nice and very helpful but the security guard there was very off towards me and my husband as he was walking around us and watching us like we were going to steal something. It definitely seemed like a racial profiling issue since me and my husband are obviously Hispanic and on the larger side. It was odd but the man in the suits section was really respectful and kind.

The ladies at the store were super helpful in helping my husband find his linen pants and shirts. They knew exactly where everything were and saved us a lot of time looking. Thank you so much for a great shopping experience.
