Sorry John. I still have you in the nice guy territory but not the best experience with my transmission situation. I know you don't need the work and don't care or read these reviews, so this is for others. I took my pickup in with obvious transmission issues. And honest John told me his charming business story and life in Port Charlotte over the last 45 years or so. Left the truck for a checkout and he determined the worst case that it needed a replacement transmission. He was busy and couldn't do it and others he recommended would be 2-3 weeks before they could make repairs. Okay fair enough and I was prepared that it would need that and would be expensive. So i went to AAMCO because they could do the repairs in a week. Well they took the truck in the next day and found it 3qt low on fluid. After clearing the two codes and trans memory they test drive and found marked improvement and suggested I drive a few more days as the transition relearns its shift points. After 25 miles of city/highway driving this thing is driving well with no problems! Checking fluid level, code reading etc should be part of basic checkouts. I cannot recommend John's Transmission based on my experience.

I called John and spoke directly to the man. He was very open with me that he could assist me with my issues...but he was honest and said due to time constraints and lack of personal he would not be able to complete my work. Although he couldn't get my trans repaired...he was very honest. In today's world I give him a ten for honesty. Thank you!!! From Dan the Plumber

John is an awesome guy, despite how he describes himself. Very helpful, always gives great advice, and would rather make sure the customers problem is fixed then take advantage of them. I can see why he is a pillar of the automotive industry here in Port Charlotte.

I called & John answered. He was patient, informative, & very helpful in all my inquiries. While I haven't had the pleasure to use his business I definitely would if my vehicle had transmission problems. The only drawback to my experience is that his facility does not offer any financing.John is a pleasure to talk to!
