I came in store and explained I never been there before and had clothes to sell. The young lady smiled and said ok and point to my daughter and ask if that box was what I wanted to sell. She had me show my driver's license fill out paper with my name and address and phone number and aftertaking my box she said she would call me in 35 minutes. Which I thought was odd since it clearly was not busy and I only had a small box. After half hour of roaming the over price goodwill items they had there( go to Goodwill cause they have the same items but cheaper) the lady returned the box... told me they don't buy formal dresses.i asked about the new sketches shoes and they said they were not the kind that would sell...( they had obviously used shoes for sale...these had never been worn) they didn't even look at the dresses...there was a new nonformal dress in there...they then gave me a $5 off coupon to buy something in their store. I laughed and handed it back saying no thanks. They give me 5$ coupon....that's so funny. So why didnt they tell me their requirements before taking all my info and wasting my time.I would expect my employees to be friendly and helpful in timely manner, to explain how things worked ..the requirements. she should have looked at my items with me present, instead of the...oh thanks I'll get back to ya later with a phone call.My advice is sell your items on facebook market place.or other web base platforms. Or donate them to Goodwill and write it off on your taxes...or have a garage sale. Don't go to plates closet. It also was very warm and humid in there. That in itself was way I wouldn't buy anything from there. I will be donating my clothes to a nursing home ( many have no clothes) and selling the prom dresses on FB marketplace. They don't buy formal dresses at Platos closet....ohAnd if the owner decide to reply...don't continue with the rude.."let's get this straight"...as I am reading . You need customers...we don't need you. At least I dont...I was just testing out the store.

I shop here sometimes for jeans or sweaters. It’s close by to my house. They always have full inventory, staff is nice even and the owner is nice too! Just one thing, I took 2 full bags to Plato’s and they took 2 items out of it, I did take the same 2 bags after they took 2 items out of the bags to Sarasotas Plato’s and they took 12. I did have a lot of unused items that had the tags on it, brand new still. I am petit and I know there’s a lotOf girls that are my size and would love this type of style. It just confused me that’s why I was thinking there maybe a limit per customer. I did come In around 11:20am I thought that would have been a good time to come in and let them take as much as they want before the crowd came in with buckets of clothes. I was surprised 2 items though. I took the rest to goodwill so there’s that.

As a hard core resale shopper, this Plato's closet is not a 5, but a 10+.1. EXTREMELY organized. (very important if you are in a hurry but need a cute piece in mere minutes)2. Very CLEAN.3. Very kind. I was personally greeted by an associate who actually seemed happy to have a random customer stop by their store (rare attitude).4. RELEVANT. Everything is fresh, current, new or almost new, stylish. You will not be disappointed.5. PRICES are AMAZING!! MOST items are under $25. And. If I had to guess the AVERAGE price of anything you look at is going to be $10. Case in point: my daughter bought 11 items. With tax: $108.You will NOT be dissappinted.

It's nice I can bring the old but new clothes I don't want anymore and shop while they go through them.

So let me get this straight.... You turn down Ralph Lauren button up collared shirts because they're not "teen" clothes? So not only are you rude and nasty to your customers but your stores model is based on age discrimination? Teen boys need button up shirts for many occasions. Will cheer when your store goes bankrupt. Quit treating people like garbage. We don't need you. Your business needs us. Again, just close your doors and go run a sweatshop where your attitude is considered normal.

I brought some items in for re-sell. I had a set skort, tank top and t-shirt all match - Columbia, they only took my skort. When I called them, they told me I would have to pay their sell price on MY item. Other items they did not accept they thrown in bag in worse condition then when I brought them in. At least act like you care. Unacceptable. I will never be back there and I will tell everyone never to go there. Seller & Buyer Beware

The owner replied how is that? Then the owner reply says if I do not explain why I left my real life experience with their company my review will not be valid the staff rude the owner rude and I’ll never go there again and I don’t recommend it to no person as the owner answer your own questions send a secret shopper there your staff are not professional the customer always right

I attempted to sell some clothes to this place... They were all designer, many new with tags. The ladies refused them because they claimed they were all "custom fitted clothes" and they only take clothes with "S, M, L, XL". I attempted to explain that these were not custom fit and the clothing sizes were European sizing, as most designers are. They refused ALL but 6 items. Ralph Lauren, Nautica, Pierre Cardin, Roberto Cavalli, cashmere sweaters, lots of Greg Norman golf attire. Nope. They've "never heard of Cavalli" and treated me like I didn't know what I was talking about. They offered me just under $17 for the 6 items that were brand new, never worn. I had a few shirts that were still in the plastic with tags and the girls opened them and destroyed the plastic. Smh. Don't bother with this place. They don't have anything nice and the lady claiming to be the owners wife is clueless regarding fashion. Don't go here. The clothes they do have are overpriced. Offer me $3 for a brand new $250 Ralph Lauren Jacket when you know you're gonna charge $45?The owner needs to spend some time educating his wife and employees about fashion, these people are clueless. Never heard of Cavalli, probably doesn't know the difference between purple label and green label RL, won't take designer clothes because they don't know what European sizing is. It's quite comical.

Ever since they opened and now even to this day the girls never smile, I guess wearing people’s turned in hand me downs has them acting like Regina George. It’s Plato’s not Gucci. Lol. Smile be friendly, and lose the snob attitude.
