This is more penske's fault than home Depot because they're just an agent of Penske so home Depot did what they could but they aren't very versed in anything but paperwork and giving you the keys unfortunately. They tried their best but I didn't even leave the parking lot before the engine went on the van. I rented to move to Tennessee. I'm disabled and had Packers waiting on me at my expense until I could get another truck and trailer and bring it there. Then after they got it packed and went to hook up the trailer and put my car on it, as they were ratcheting down the straps that go over the front wheels they discovered a nut was missing and the bolt was bent to the point of fracture. I never would have made it 900 plus miles with that bolt and I would have lost my new car. So we had to pay yet again to stay overnight in a motel and till we could go back to Penske and it was Penske not home Depot at fault and get a new trailer and get the car transferred over. Then they didn't have anybody to put the chains to fully secure the car on so they had to go inside and find someone who was thin enough to get under the car trailer and had knowledge of how to apply the chains safely. So we lost a day and a half of travel and two extra nights of hotel expenses. I will never rent a Penske again.

Me and my father come in multiple times a day as we constantly need more materials. Today while we were buying wood 2 workers behind us started making fun of us. " I really wish they hit each other in the head" ect. I also asked one of the same workers if he could help me, he turned his head towards the me but facing the ground and rolled his eyes before i told him i didnt need his help anymore. I didnt get any names but most of the workers today mustve been new because ive never seen them before and most of them seemed incompetent. If you just need materials quickly home depot is always a great place to go, but in this home depot prepare to get laughed at and receive no help.

Many of the plants were suffering in the scorching july heat . Our cashier Patricia was extremely rude. I asked about getting a discount on a sickly plant and she said Home Depot doesn't do this because they don't own the plants. While this does seem to be a policy/known problem online, why doesn't HD work the plant staff to find reasonable ways to move dying plants that people clearly shouldn't pay full price for. The plants are already over priced as is. And honestly, I did receive a plant discount from the plant department on a previous purchase, but this may have simply been an anomaly. Anyways, I believe this is a terrible business model and furthermore, the employee didn't need to be so rude. "2 stars, I've experienced better." I will definitely avoid this store in the future.

Ramon at the pro desk is useless. Zero customer service skills. He would much rather be on his phone than help a customer. I asked him to check stock on a specific item. I have the SKU number he did a great job of pulling it up and telling me they had two in stock. I told him I have already checked the floor for this item and you do not have any available. He proceeded to tell me to go back and find someone to have them look. I came back to Ramon and yes he was on his phone. I stood there for two or three minutes and he got off of his phone and said, can I help you. I said, is there anyway you can check other stores for this the specific item I would be willing to drive to Punta Gorda to pick it up. He said Punta Gorda has one but I don't trust it in the numbers and I said is there anyway to check and see if it is there he said no you can do that.

I ordered a Whirlpool washer and dryer set. We had an issue as it was only dispensing hot water. Whirlpool customer service is five stars and amazing. They sent out their crew and determined the washer was installed incorrectly. Since the connections were crossed Whirlpool does not touch anything connected to the house. So Whirlpool contacted the manager "Al" for me at the Port Charlotte location. He argued with them that they will not create a work order for it and refused to come out and fix it. The rep told me she argued with him that he needs to make it right and fix it since his team installed it incorrectly. Finally Al told the rep from Whirlpool that he will "see what he can do and contact me." I have received no call so I called Al myself. I left a message with the receptionist as she said he is unavailable. I have not received a call back. My husband will go to the location himself today to see if he can get the help we need to install it correctly.

I was looking for something to seal up the door on my reefer (I'm an over the road trucker) I was helped by a few people who pointed me in the right direction. I never had a solid plan but with the help of the workers here, they helped me get something figured out and put it in motion. Lonny went above and beyond and went as far as helping me find what I need AND bring tools outside to help me install the seals I purchased. We did not get it done, as it was very close to closing time, but the effort of coming out and trying to help says a lot about this store and their employees. If there was more than 5 stars, I would give it to them. Thank you Lonny.

Buying at a Home Depot in person is fine. Ordering online, and having it delivered is a frustrating experience. Ordered lumber and had it delivered for $79. Order was missing 4 boards. Did not want to wait almost a month when they rescheduled the delivery. Tried to cancel and get a credit to my credit card. Spoke to three different associates, was on the phone a total of one and half hour, mostly on 'hold' listening to ads, and credit could not be completed. Will never order online again from Home Depot. Had to file a complaint with PayPal who handled the sale.

Poorly ran rental center. When the tools are in stock, the accessories are not. I’ve tried on three separate occasions to rent from here and something is always unavailable.

Got a half hour to return something ? Make sure before you go. This could be remedied by HD selling better quality products. The rake I bought ($18) failed before we even got to the car. The screw holding the plastic head fell off. After adding a screw, the plastic cracked (in a different area) on first minute of use.

Just when you think a national chain big-box home improvement store couldn't care less about one customer... I needed to replace my pressure washer and went to the Home Depot in Port Charlotte, FL on Cochran. The website said they had 3 in stock of the model I had selected. When I got there, the model I wanted was nowhere to be found even though when the associate assisting me scanned the shelf tag and his hand-held device stated they had 4 in stock. Did they try to up-sell me? NO! Did they shrug their shoulders and say, "Sorry, we don't have it"? NO!! They gave me the next higher model for the price of the original one I wanted. Now for the kicker...The price difference was $210!! Because of an inventory goof, they discounted a pressure washer by $210 to satisfy a customer. To say I was surprised, even shocked, would be an understatement. Now, that's what I call customer service!!
