I live fairly close to the store on Clyde Morris in Port Orange and most of my neighbors shop there also.
I had a good rapport with manager Brian who I noticed berates his employees, and customers.
I was one made an example of because of lack of cell phone service in store which is understable because it's a commercial building. So I couldn't transfer 65 cents to my other account fast enough in Brian's eyes. So he embarrassed me, a daily customer. Also, I am a veteran and 9/11 survivor with PTSD. So, I left the store and returnes with the 65 cents. Brian then stated the lady behind me paid the balance. I was truly grateful to her. But I insisted to Brian I'm gonna pay it. I proceeded to put the change on the counter. Brian proceeded with a rude and unprofessional comment and pushed my change back at me abruptly. I felt this was very disrespectful. I had spoken in the past with him with no problems. But he does put his workers in a hostile work environment. That is not cool in front of customers. He also sometimes does it to customers too.
So I approached him about his demeanor. He told me to get out before he calls police to trespass me. I complied.
So, I contacted corporate with my concerns. They were addressed because Brian was irate the next time I went to the store. He said I tried to get him fired. This was not true. I just think he needs a customer and employee respect training course. So, it's not a horrible place to shop. I like the store and other employees.
Just Brian needs some customer retraining.

The old lady manager that works here is a thief!!!! Stole $90 from me . i'm Looking into reporting this.
Some time last year (november 2023), I came to this store to buy cat food and have not been back since. At the time, I only had $110 to my name and had an eyeglass appointment the next day. I was homeless for most of high school and have had the same glasses for 7 years. They were scratched to hell and broken in three places. Not to mention, the wrong perscription. I could only afford $10 worth of cat food and paid the old woman working the cash register a $10 bill. Got $2 back in change. No problems. Not even a word from the cashier.
The next day, i realized that I only had $10. I assumed I had dropped it at the store as my eyesight is too bad to notice. I went in and asked the young woman at the register if anyone turned in lost money and she pointed me to this old woman she called the manager. Said that she would know as she was working that day.
I asked this old woman if anyone turned in the money. She kept saying word for word "we don't break down large bills" In a hostile tone. I was confused and I thought there was a misunderstanding and asked again until she said "no".
During that time, i was sleeping very little as my cat was very sick and it didn't occur to me that this manager was admitting to my face that she took my $100 bill the day before. And didn't speak up that it was the wrong bill or even give me my change.
I was a bit dizzy from riding my bike in the hot sun that day and my poor eyesight mistook it for a $10 bill when I handed it to her.
DO NOT Go to this store! The manager will steal from you!! I want my $90 back you terrible human being!

I never shopped at dollar general. This was my first time there and will be my last. The girl working there today was super rude and nasty. I went in there for some pool/beach games with my son. Had a cart full of things he picked out. The lady was so rude while I was checking out I just left without getting anything and went to walmart. Apparently they didn't need my sale with their attitudes. Huffing and puffing, rolling of the eyes, nasty tone..... never again will I step foot in there.

Extremely rude manager. He needs to teach his cashiers how to call people up for help when she has a long line. Witnessed him, give another customer and attitude also. Couldn't be bothered to walk ten steps to show her where to find what she was looking for.We'll take our business elsewhere l.

Super convenient they have everything you can need from food to clothes they have it all it’s located in a hidden area but it safe I recommend to anyone

Why are the employees (Bobby) always so rude and in a rush to get you out. Don’t try to ask a question, I don’t think that’s part of the job description. Good thing is looks like they have add new items.
