Oh, "Gina." What a delight. On 9/27/24, this absolute beacon of customer service showed exactly why she should never interact with another human being again. I was standing in line, you know, just trying to check out, while on a *very* important phone call with a partner from my firm—because, in case it wasn't obvious, I’m an attorney. Then comes Gina, mumbling to the person in front of me something along the lines of "get off the phone." And yes, she said it loud enough that both I and the person on the other end of my *very important* call heard her.
Fast forward to my turn—what do I get? A warm greeting? A simple "hello"? Oh no, Gina doesn't do pleasantries. Instead, I got dead silence. So I broke the ice with, "Yeah, I guess I gotta get off the phone now," and... nothing. Crickets. I even tried a second time with, "I guess you can’t ring stuff up if someone’s on the phone," just to see if she was still functioning. Nope. Not a peep.
Then, as if this situation couldn’t get more charming, she basically threw my receipt at me like I had personally offended her by existing. No "thank you," no "have a nice day"—just pure, undiluted hostility. Oh, and when I tried calling to speak with a manager? The line was busy, of course. Shocking, right? It's almost like they’re avoiding people. Can't imagine why.
