It is with deep regret that I must submit this feedback; however, our loyalty as customers for over a decade necessitates informing others of our recent experience. Long but you'd be wise to read before this happens to you!
Due to a 100% disability requiring ongoing medication, I refuse to disclosed my severe medical diagnosis and the necessity of my pain management and muscle relaxant prescriptions, which I have used for over a decade. This information is confidential and shared only with my physicians and my spouse. Similarly, my husband's medical information is private, although I can confirm he manages a full-time position in logistics for a kidney dialysis center, PRIORITIZING patient care despite a back fracture. His employment is essential given my disability status.
This leads me to the recent change in pharmacists at Publix, with the replacement of the highly regarded Ray, who transferred to a more convenient location. Her name is Amy. My husband picked up our scripts in December and was questioned as "why I have two muscle relaxers." She said she was filling "it as a courtesy this month" however she would need to speak to my doctor next month to which my husband said that would be perfectly fine.
In January, our physician forwarded our monthly prescription medications. Our non-controlled, non-narcotic prescriptions were filled. My husband, as is our usual practice, confirmed the pickup date, which was scheduled for the 18th (this was acceptable given it was only the 14th). He inquired about Amy's availability, as I wished to discuss the muscle relaxer prescription with her. She was unavailable but expected the following day. Our physician was fully apprised of the December issue and prepared to intervene if required. I contacted Amy the following day and ATTEMPTED to explain my medical condition and why there was the need for the two muscle relaxers. I informed her that my physician could discuss the matter with her if she preferred. Her response was curt; she declined to speak with him, stating that she had previously informed my husband that she filled the prescriptions as a courtesy. I suggested she fill only one prescription, but she refused to fill any, specifically stating she would not fill any narcotics or controlled substances, including my husband's. When I inquired about the reason for this action, citing our ten-plus years of consistent prescription fulfillment at Publix without incident, she cited her right to make a "professional decision." I questioned the basis for this decision, emphasizing our long-standing relationship with the same physician, our clean drug testing history, and our law-abiding status as 57-year-old citizens requiring these medications. She ultimately stated that we would need to find another pharmacy.
As of the 23rd, we have been unable to obtain our necessary prescriptions from any local pharmacy. This situation has resulted in significant pain and suffering beyond comprehension!
I have left two messages for Dan, the manager of all Florida Publix pharmacies, but have yet to receive a return call.
Publix Pharmacy's treatment of loyal customers, who have not warranted discriminatory practices, is unacceptable. We believe the pharmacist formed a prejudiced opinion of my husband and me, incorrectly thinking of us as drug addicts. This is deeply upsetting and inaccurate. The implication is profoundly hurtful. I'd give anything not to have become disabled and the events that caused the disability to have never happened so I could have continued working in the Human Service Field, but I wasn't given that choice! I wish Ray had stayed and Amy never ever stepped foot in that store! She has no business working with people!
Amy's conduct was completely unwarranted and unprofessional.

I’ve been going to this pharmacy for years and every employee has always treated me with kindness and respect. They have a new Pharmacist named Katie who is awful! She’s condescending and questioned my medications and called my doctor and questioned why she’s prescribing me certain meds. She told me my medication contradicts each other and also suggested I switch to AMBIEN for sleep instead of my current medication! Last I checked she wasn’t a doctor! She said that if my doctor doesn’t change my dose she will NOT continue to fill my meds! My doctors office is furious and suggested I call corporate! It’s embarrassing enough to be on certain medications but to feel that embarrassed and judged really hurt. I have many medical conditions plus mental health issues. I’ve never encountered someone so judgmental and so passive aggressive. It’s not like I was trying to buy Crack. Please get rid of her!!!

This is hands down the worst publix pharmacy.. Ray the pharmacist is to blame... I have had SO many of my refills just disappear causing me to have to go to my doctor early to get a new prescription. When my doctor with over 40 years experience in the medical field gave me, his patient for over 8 years a higher dose of a medication I have been on for over 3 years, the pharmacist flagged me and my doctor. Im no longer able to fill at any Publix. How can a pharmacist make a decision on what dose a Dr chooses to give his long time patient??? When I asked why he wouldn't fill it he said he didn't like how my doctor talked to him... like what?? That's one big ego.. essentially taking someone off of a medication they have been on for years is dangerous.. could even be life threatening. How can a pharmacist make that decision??

Manager Raymond Luxton is as incompetent as he is apathetic. His office messes up a simple refill, then acts like you're at fault. His team is very nice and mostly cordial, but they are often caught like a deer in headlights because of the convoluted system Publix and Luxton are running. Avoid if you can help it.

I went into this store today a little before 4pm. My children wanted subs. There was ONE young lady working . A line of three with myself included. ALL ALONE!! Staying calm, never breaking pleasant customer service but coming from similar issues at my employment I knew if it was me I wouldn’t have. She was very efficient and definitely not moving slow but do to customer requests and specifications etc etc it takes time Finally after 15 another lady comes to help her and “ lady helping all of us says …. There are online orders coming in, one of which is due in 2 mins”, lady who had finally walked up, took all the online order slips, clipped them up in front of our lady and walked off. The WHOLE reason for this post is because I was an idiot and never got “ out ladies name” but I hope she sees this and k owes that tonight, someone is truly appreciating the service you gave us today and the work you may or may not be recognized for but deserve to be. Thank you. P.S. YOU made shopping a pleasure today

This Publix is great and the online ordering is the best. I wish they would do something about people parking in the reserved for pick up spots and then going inside to shop

Worst deli ever! I understand people are short staffed everywhere, but there is no reason to have to stand in line for 45 minutes for a sub when there were 4 people because the one guy they have takes 15 minutes to make 1 sub! Either get more help or train them better.

I am compelled to complain about the deli at this Publix - which has the worst service of any grocery store deli I've ever used. This isn't based on a single experience, but many visits in which the employees at the deli move at a snail's pace and simply ignore customers who have to endure excessive wait times. I typically do my shopping on Sunday mornings when the store isn't even particularly busy, but it is not uncommon for me to wait 10-15 minutes for a pound of sliced meat. This morning, there was one person in front of me and I had to wait 15 minutes to get said pound of meat while half a dozen Publix employees milled around behind the counter doing nothing. This needs to be addressed.

The Pharmacist Ray “Manger” is very racist he will not help any person of color. He spoke to my mother with complete disrespect and told her that there was no one above him for her to speak to. If you ever need a pharmacy do not use any pharmacy(Publix) Ray Raymond Luxton is currently working at. Thank You

Courtney, the manager has zero customer service skills. Refused to offer a resolution to a grab and go sandwich I got that had gotten lettuce. She just argued how it was Boars Head's problem not theirs! UPDATE! I received a call from Joel, the manager! He is a true representation of the Publix I know and love! He listened to me with patience, care and concern. He resolved everything! I feel like I matter.

Here Visiting my Mom in Port Orange from California. I just had the most amazing experience of southern hospitality reminding me why I love this place and that chivalry still exists in this crazy world. Shelby went out of her way helping me like family would. I also didn't catch his name but the tall young blonde haired bagger, both keepers thank you again Rock on!
