Very surprised at the response I got when I brought my donations to them today. First words out of the mouth, no clothes. Then something was on table outside and volunteer says looks like a dead rat and threw it away (it was a furry throw of some sort) right in front of me. I was appalled at that behavior. My donations were a brand new pair of shoes and a lot of mass cards that I had an abundance in my stash. So I said I hope you can use these and volunteer said well if we can we will with a funny expression on their face. I imagine those got tossed in the trash as well. Very annoying for sure! Will consider not contributing to their store in the future.

I love this place. Everybody is so kind and generous.
I bought five dresses two pairs of sandals that were almost brand new for my trip to Jamaica.
They informed me that they don’t pick up donations for furniture. You need to drop them off. It’s sad that people donate to Goodwill But there is always habitats for humanity when it’s crowded
The staff is always friendly and patient God bless them all

About a year ago, I went to donate a chase lounge that I bought from Rooms to Go in a set. I liked it, but when we got it home, We noticed that we couldn't put it in any position that would not block the pathway. We placed it in a spare bedroom covered when we needed to use that spare bedroom again, and we decided to donate it. We called Saint Vincent de Paul. They sent somebody that person came in, and from the get-go Was making one excuse after another not to take it. I assumed it was because it was so big, but it was new. I told him, and then I told him I would help him get it out. The door, you just take the legs off. That's how Rooms to Go brought it in. They just screw off, then he came up with the excuse that there was a spot on it and they couldn't sell it. I quickly cleaned the spot off with upholstery cleaner. He still wouldn't take it.. I donated it to Goodwill. They picked it up with no hassle. However, my wife says goodwill is for-profit, and she likes to donate to Saint Vincent de Paul. Today, I went to donate items. I arrived at their store at 2:15 PM. I started unloading my stuff onto the table about 10 minutes later. Somebody comes out, sees me, and says, "Oh, we're not taking any more donations today." we're closing the store and proceeds to shut the door that was open when I got there. I will never ever donate to Saint Vincent de Paul again. All my donations large will go to goodwill. Clothes will go to the Veterans Association and the vietnam Veterans Association

St. Vincent de Paul was founded in Paris France in 1833 by Frederic Ozanam, a college student who created the organization to help people experiencing financial hardship. He came up with the idea for a charity in response to a fellow classmates question, what is your church doing for the poor? The group chose St. V\incent de Paul, patron saint of the poor for their name and under the guidance of Sister Rosalie Rendu, they increased the number of people they were able to help. Volunteers of the organization are called Vincentians. The charity spread from France to Europe. In 1845 they established in St. Louis, Missouri. The organization is now world wide in 150 countries with 750,000 members. Every year across the country the St. Vincent De Paul Society provides 1.4 billion in aid to more than 4 million people every year.
The store is staffed by volunteers and proceeds go to providing food and clothing, housing, rent and utility assistance, to the Port St. Lucie community. They sell donated furniture, household goods, lamps, small appliances, art collectibles, books, CD's, clothes, and accessories. They had a great selection and the prices were very reasonable in their clean and well organized store. They had a cute boutique section and you may even find vintage and antique pieces tucked into the shelves. Follow them on Facebook for notification of upcoming sales.
If you are looking to donate, they accept household furniture, household goods, clothing, and toys in very good condition. Donations of food must be nonperishable and not expired. This long standing charitable organization is a wonderful place to shop and to give to.
