I would never recommend smart storage in Punta Gorda!!! I stored everything I own while living with family to build our dream home which took much longer then expected due to 3 Hurricanes & everything was destroyed… 1st time from their AC leaking in my large unit causing mold… 2nd time we hired movers & found Rats destroyed everything!!! They knew about the rats because we found rat poison they placed! Are other unit also has some sort of beetles that have infested all my boxes! I can’t use anything I stored! waste of 60,000 they made off me!

SCAMMERS. They lie about the monthly rate to get you to sign, then increase it by 200% 3 months later due to “market conditions”…. There is a new storage unit being built every week. Do yourself a favor and sign up elsewhere.

I love this place. The staff is awesome and extremely accommodating and knowledgeable. The units are amazing. The prices are affordable. It's a joy to go to storage and not sweat to death. Everyone (customers and employees) I've met there have been extremely friendly and nice. I dont believe I'll ever go to another storage facility again. It really is an experience!

If I could give a negative review I would. My family and I moved most of what was left of our belongings into a Climate controlled storage unit while the repairs were being done to our home after a hurricane. What was supposed to be less than a year, turned out to be almost 2.. we fought with insurance, and contractors. Shady people abound. During Christmas of last year we visited our storage unit to get a few things to find rat damage and rodent droppings. We of course brought it up to the managers attention and we were assured all would be taken care of, and she gave us a claim email. BUT she and claims dept said to wait till we knew how much damage was done to file. We stopped in periodically to find more damage, dead (half eaten) rats on traps, and horrid smell. unforeseen circumstanced did allow us to change units, so we continued to fight, request help, and stop in more periodically. Once we were finally able to move back into our home, and had the help, we moved out.. almost 6 months after the first complaint.. we find that we have over $13k in damages, and MANY irreplicable items DESTROYED. Already devastated and heart broken.. we through the other half of our treasures away... So we filed the claim... $500... $500 is the max claimable for rodent damage!! $500.. supposedly its in the fine print of the insurance they sell you!!!
$500... Just another shady company...

I needed a small climate controlled storage unit. I got great pricing and amazing customer service! I was pleasantly surprised to find everything was digital so I could easily open up my unit with my phone! I was also very pleasantly surprised to find that, unlike other storage companies and units, my storage unit was absolutely immaculate! It is obvious that this company knows what it’s doing and provides great storage space!

Start to finish the crew at the Punta Gorda SmartStop were super helpful and professional. The facility is fantastic and the app works well. Wish I would have gone there a long time ago.
